The place is permanently close!!! I just went today and it looks like another business will start there soon.

Okay, I really wanted to give them 2.5 stars. but Unilocal doesn’t allow you to. This is entirely a mixed review. Pros: First for the good things. The food is delicious and portions are quite generous. I had the fried pork and it was very tasty. The beans were delicious in good olé Puerto Rican style. It was like being home. The place is very clean which is very good. Floor is impeccable and the restaurant has plenty of windows and natural light. Getting to the Mens room is an adventure but nonetheless it is fine.
Cons: I wish restaurant would stop serving dining in clientele with styrofoam plates. It is downright depressing. And the use of plasticware instead of silverware is upsetting. Seriously? And this particular plasticware is the worse of the worse. Instead of generating more garbage for landfills, invest in some durable quality plates and silverware. The other issue I have is with the two tiered pricing: one for dine-in and one for take out. What? I have never heard such a thing. And I really don’t appreciate the stealth charges they try to tack on. «Do you want bread, plantains or salad?». Of course you will tend to answer the question by choosing one without being told you are being charged. I don’t like any restaurant that does that; it’s deceitful. The other thing that seems strange is that the baker left and has never been replaced. The display that used to show all the baked goods has been off for a while. This happen a long time ago too. Conclusion: I made this review to accomplish two things: make people aware of what to expect and the other is expecting the owners to do something about the cons. I took a couple of friends and their first impression of the place was not great. Good food but a lot of little things that are bothersome that can be easily resolved.

Came here to get their empanadas for a mid-afternoon snack. Being from Hawaii, there are only a couple of places I can get it. I ordered the Carne Guisada and the chicken. They were made to order and piping hot. Both were delicious and enjoyed every bite. I want to come here next time to try their other entrees.

If could give 0 stars, I would, ordered a breakfast platter for my abuela. Simple a scramble egg with ham and toast! Came in at 11:15 am they gave me the order at 12:06! That long for a simple order? Not coming back thats for sure !

Service was terrible during my visit. I wait in line for 15 minutes to place my order and during this time they take the order of Spanish speaking customers in line behind me. After arriving at the register to place my order I’m then told it will be at least 40 minutes to have a cuban sandwich made for me! She then tells me it would be quicker to just order my meal off the steam table, doesn’t matter what I want apparently. So I just order a diet coke, she says ok, turns around and grabs a regular coke from the cooler behind her and takes my money. I inform her I ordered a diet coke and she states she heard me and didn’t know why she grabbed regular. She then walks aways holding my money and bags up a to go order, finally to return with my change and diet coke. No excuse for a 40 minute wait for a sandwich, especially a cuban sandwich. Ordered take out the following day and finally got my cuban sandiwch, which was decent. Bread was a little soft and pork a little dry, but not bad.

Very good food. Clean little hidden place. Would have gave 5 stars if they had mofongo & pastalles available. I got the pollo y peril y amarillo arroz con gandules. Very good! Big portion sizes too! The homemade hotsauce(ask for it) was very good. Will go again

Ok get your PR food fix for this place! I had the white rice, red beans. A super soft steak and onions and just right done maduros. Also has a home made pastelito carne. Outstanding flavor and these folks know how to cook.

Old hard rice, very greasy tostadas. If you order a lunch good luck getting it. They serve hot meals on styrofoam plates for a side of chemicals leaching into your food. Very disappointed!

I gave a 5 even though I just had an empanadilla made of beef and cheese. The place was nice, spacious for a café and bakery and has typical puerto rican food I love and cannot always find in Florida such as alcapurrias. Service was good. I expected the empanadas to be made, ready to go but I had to wait which was surprising until I realized it was being made to order which I like. They have a decent variety upon availability which means they could be out of something. I definitely want to go back and try more. My boyfriend loved the empanadas too.

La Terraza is just so delicious! I am very into pork, and they make some bad ass pulled pork, almost taste like«carnitas». Anyways, i get that and some rice and beans. Rice and beans are a staple in Rican cuisine and they are sooo good at La Terraza! Its super clean! The service is great! I try to go as often as possible to get my latin food fix!

A couple of coworkers took me out to lunch and this was the spot they picked. I’ve never heard of La Terraza, don’t think I’ve ever even driven by because I don’t normally drive that way. Wow! What a find! My mouth is literally watering right now thinking of that meal I had. So here’s what you do– you walk in, go over to the little buffet type thing they have set up with different rices, beans and meat, etc. You tell them what you want, she puts it on a plate for you, you tell them what you want to drink, pay, sit down and eat! Easy peasy! I ordered the rice with spicy sausage(arroz con chorizo?), beans, beef with onions and the fried plantains. They had quite a few meat options actually and it was hard to decide what I wanted lol. Along with the regular soft drinks you can select, they also have a variety of Spanish soft drinks, which I thought was pretty cool. Everything on my plate was DELICIOUS. Holy crap, why have I never had Puerto Rican cuisine before?! The rice was perfect with the chorizo. The red beans were excellent, and I’m not really a beans kinda person. My beef entrée was very tender and flavorful. I have no idea what it was called but it was damn good. Fried plantains were amazingly sweet and perfect way to end the meal(eat with the meal?!). Prices are way decent for the portion you get. It’s like $ 7 for a lunch special. Interior of the restaurant is very bright and clean. Plenty of tables and seats and there was a steady stream of people coming and going while we were there. They also had a display of baked goods, which I must try soon! Most definitely putting this place into my weekly rotation.

Me encanta!!!

The great reviews demanded I check this place out, so I stopped by for lunch. La Terraza is located in the Weston Plaza, on Belcher just south of Ulmerton on the west side of the street, and just a short distance down from the IHOP. I might have missed the La Terraza name on the Weston Plaza sign, but saw the address numbers as I drove by, so had to turn around and try again. Given it’s located in a nondescript plaza, they’ve done a very nice job on the interior. It’s bright, cheery, seats ~50−60 people, and it’s extraordinarily clean. The staff is super friendly, and customer focused. They asked where I had heard about their restaurant, and when I said Unilocal, they requested to be sure to give them feedback on Unilocal and their Facebook page. You order at the counter, and they immediately prepare your plate from the cafeteria-style line. They have daily lunch specials, and today was sausage and rice, with pinto beans on the side. You can also order from a selection of several meat dishes, which today included pork ribs, steak, chicken thighs with yucca wrapped in bacon, roast pork, and several others. I ordered the rice and beans, along with roast pulled pork and plantains. The rice was well seasoned and moist, and the beans were full of flavor. I was very pleased with the pork, as it was flavorful and very moist as well. The plantains were delicious, just the right amount of sweetness to top off all of the other flavors. As much traffic as Ulmerton has, there aren’t may good Latin-flavored restaurants in the area. La Terraza is a great addition, and I’ll definitely be going back to try the other choices. My scores on the Latin family diner scale: Atmosphere: 4 Service: 5 Food: 5 Value: 5

I ordered five Pan de Mallorca(Puerto Rican Sweet Rolls) at 2.35 each for car full of people at 9:45AM on a Saturday morning. Pan de Mallorca is shaped in the form of a coil and sprinkled with a heavy coat of powdered sugar. When we all took a bit, it was hard. The common question I got was, «did you buy this from the day old bread rack?» The bakery does not have such a section. It was hard because it really old and being sold along with all the other bakery items. After the day old bread shock was over, we also noticed the color of the bread was on the red-orange side? Pan de Mallorca ingredients are typically white bread flour, yeast, milk, eggs, granulated sugar, vegetable shortening, and powdered sugar for decoration. Some use only the egg yolks, but I have never seen one with this red-orange color. My suggestion is to inquire about the freshness of the items in the display case before you buy and wait to go to Melao Bakery, Kissimmee where it cost $ 1.50, fresh and the correct color.

My quesitos were to die for and accompanied by my Malta… it was a great evening. The owners are very kind very nice down to earth. I’ll be back soon. Thank you guys.
