I had the Salmon Scampi and it was phenomenal. This place gets 4 stars ONLY because I sat in my booth for about 12 minutes without anyone noticing me. I’d be interested to check out the rest of the menu, particularly, the Salmon Oscar, which is basically salmon with crabmeat stuffing, asparagus and hollandaise sauce(yum!). I’d definitely go here again.

Very good first time visit. Some friends invited me for Sunday late lunch. My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed the company and the restaurant. The service was good even though the server got my sides wrong and mistakenly brought too many orders of hush puppies. Other than that the margaritas are great priced at $ 1 and the daily specials are eye appealing.

Fish is good, the sides are so so. Should have rice as a side. Fish and rice go together. Not fish and potatoes.

Had Dinner there Tuesday night and it was wonderful. Yellow fin tuna was flavorful and cooked as asked, coconut tilapia was amazing, oysters Rockefeller were some of the best we have had. I highly suggest you try the Key Lime pie! We all split a piece! Our waitress was fabulous!

My wife and I are always on the lookout for a nice, homey seafood place with good food and reasonable prices. This is the place! Thanks to other Unilocal reviews, we had lunch here on Saturday, and it was a complete hit. It’s not a super-fancy place, or just a ‘joint’. It’s good-sized, has a patio over the water, is comfortable, clean, and a great place to enjoy by yourself or with family & friends. Tamera was our Server, and she was great. She was friendly, helpful and treated us just as we like. The food was wonderful! I had a very nice cup of Clam Chowder that was full of taste and chunks of clams, and my wife really liked her Lobster Bisque. My wife gave two thumbs up for her Crabby Patties and I loved my RG’s Fried Fish Sandwich. To prevent any fisticuffs, we had two orders of Hush Puppies that were the best we’ve had in years. This place is a homerun for sure. Nice atmosphere, excellent food, dynamite service and prices that are heard to beat!

My fish and chips were very nice. My wife’s mango Mahi Mahi was very overcooked. Service was very good.

This is a seafood restaurant that offers relatively cheap dishes. I went here on a Sunday afternoon with a friend because she heard they have $ 1 margaritas on Sundays(frozen or on the rocks, flavored are $ 3). I was like, Hell yeah! This place looks like most seafood restaurants, i.e. wooden tables and benches, sea creatures hanging on the walls, but instead of a roll of napkin on the table, the roll is hung on a clothes hanger above the table. Interesting. My friend and I sat inside, though I hear there’s outdoor seating in the back. I ordered a Margarita, a cup of the RG’s Crab Corn Chowder and Mango Mahi with Veggie of the day(broccoli, yellow carrots and green beans). The margarita is good(not less alcohol because it’s cheaper), the chowder is decent(though Bonefish has way better Corn Chowder) and the Mahi… doesn’t wow me whatsoever(fish was hard and bland even though jerk flavor was added, and the mango salsa wasn’t sweet nor sour, just there). As far as the food, I wouldn’t go back. As for the margarita special on Sunday, I’ll only come back if my friends suggest it.

Best discovery we’ve made in Pinellas County last 4 years. We’ve quickly become regulars for their grouper. Their service is awesome and commitment to please is second to no one. The owner came out to check on us after we requested a steak be rare instead of medium-rare. The portions aren’t outrageously large. Margaritas on Sunday(after church!) are $ 1. The prices are very reasonable. We don’t really want our favorite to get too crowded cuz those that visit become loyal repeats, but this restaurant deserves the business.

I really liked lunch here. I ordered the cedar plank salmon and it was really really good. The salmon was tasty. I was very happy to find a good seafood in the area because there aren’t too many good in Tampa, in general. Sides mashed potatoes and broccoli were perfect.

Was very disappointed in this restaurant. We were not able to sit outside due to the very loud and belligerent drunk«ladies» on the back patio. After moving inside we ordered drinks. My wife got a sweet tea and spit out the first sip. The tea had gone sour and and was made with super salty water. After sending that back and ordering a Coke we were once again let down. The Coke gun used the same water and that was extra salty as well. That was about the time the waitress decided to tell us about the problem they we’re having and suggested we order beers. Here’s the deal… my wife’s pregnant lol. After finally getting something to drink we ordered food. The meni is ok, nothing special. A little overpriced for what we got. Would recommend going dowb the road to Marlin Darlins if your looking for this type of food.

I had the Snow crab special. Wife had the grouper Oscar. Daughter had the fish bites. Snow crab came out warm with more than the described pound. It was not over whelmed with season which complimented its freshness. Wife raved about the grouper and specifically the Oscar. Daughter fish was great too. Crab patties for app and clam chowder. This was a great dinner and service. This was highly recommended and we see why. Best food we’ve had on Florida. If and when we come back we’ll visit here too.

The food and atmosphere was perfect and our food came out quickly. Staff were all very friendly and the waitress stopped in to check on us often. The coconut shrimp were the best I’ve ever had and the burger was cooked perfectly with tons of flavor Will definitely be coming back.

Don’t eat here unless you have lost sense of taste or are over 70. Food is bought frozen, nothing fresh here. Leave this place to snowbirds!

I honestly was not expecting much from this place but I was pleasantly surprised. The food was good and the service was wonderful. It has a very«family owned and operated» feel to it although I don’t think it is. Everything was priced well too. I will defintely be coming back!

When in the Clearwater/Tampa/Largo area, you find an abundance of touristy seafood places and the food is generally expensive and often sub par. So when we were in the market for something different, and I found this place on Unilocal,I was skeptical. Boy, was I wrong! Now, mind you, the kitschy, touristy décor is there for you to enjoy, but sit tight for the food, service and prices. In browsing the menu, my mom and I decided on the oysters rockefeller, the Roosterfish Fins(fried onion pieces) and both were terrific! Rockefeller would have been proud of the bubbling deliciousness of these gems. The cheese was just enough, the spinach still tasty and the oysters still succulent. Mmmm. The plate of Fins was huge and the sauce was addictive. On to the entrée. Mom wasn’t having anything else, but I had ordered the fried clam entrée. Oh, la wee! I absolutely love good fried clams and hate the rubbery, gooey ones you find at so many other places. These were large, battered very lightly and cooked to perfection. My only regret? Having ordered so many apps I couldn’t finish the clams. Our server was a doll, too. Don’t you love it when a server actually looks you in the eye and smiles, genuinely? I wish I could remember this young man’s name, but go to Roosterfish and you’ll know him by his smile! You’ve won my heart, Roosterfish! I’ll be back!

Had the Best Service, Happy Hour Drinks and Lunch Specials! I ordered the coco crusted grouper, green beans and loaded baked potato along with a strawberry mango margarita. Everything was delicious, the portion size was hefty. My plate came with 2 large pieces of grouper cooked to perfection, the green beans were fresh and seasoned perfectly! I was also shocked the margarita was as good as it was for just $ 3. The ambiance wasn’t the best but I will be back next time I’m in the area.

Bland frozen seafood. The reviews on this place make me seriously question if the chemicals people are eating haven’t completely killed their taste buds. The two stars I did give was because the server was very nice. I ordered the Argentina red shrimp which had been doused in paprika and oils to make it look lobster-like, then overcooked until dry on the flat top. It was served with a frozen veggie medley and a few boiled red potatoes. The hush puppies were obviously frozen and had actually cooked on the outside before the inside was completelt done. My husband had the fish and chips which came with frozen corn on the cob, frozen fries. The fish had a greasy, heavy poorly seasoned batter that fell off the fish as you ate it. I don’t get what people see in this place. I’d have been appalled to serve this food in my restaurants.

This place was OK, but it could be a whole lot more. The service was great, a good start. My crab chowder was delicious and my friends enjoyed their appetizers of frog legs and calamari, better yet. But my main course of Grouper Oscar(not cheap at $ 24) was dry and somewhat overcooked. The crab topping was dry as well. My corn on the cob was dried out, too. At least my water was moist. I may give them another try, but this visit was disappointing, especially considering how close they came to being very good.

I came here today for the first time. Decent sized place with a nice bar area. I came a few minutes after they opened, and I’m glad, because I got my order in right before a large party was seated. Many of the reviews said«try the shrimp». So I ordered salmon, because I’m a rebel. They actually had three different salmon dishes on their lunch menu. I chose the sunset salmon, it was baked and adorned with a cajun mustard sauce and«cajun roosterfish fins», which are thinly sliced deep fried onions. For sides I ordered broccoli and corn on the cob. The salmon was delicious. The sides were not exceptional, but hey, they’re vegetables, what are you gonna do? The bartender knew the menu and specials inside and out, and provided pretty good service. She also gave me a card, after eight punches it’s good for a free lunch up to a $ 10 value. I will definitely be back. I gotta get that free lunch afterall.
