Wow! I wish I could give a glowing review like everyone else, but unfortunately that was not my experience.
I purchased a Living Social deal for tile cleaning and made an appointment for the end of August. Upon beginning the job, Paul said that the tile was not coming clean due to their being a waxy residue on it’s surface. Plus, the grout had a colored sealer on it, which had started coming off as he began cleaning. He said, in order to get the tile clean, it would need to be stripped and the grout sealer reapplied. This would cost $ 800 on top of the $ 150 I paid for the Living Social deal. This was a lot more than we wanted to spend, but Paul said the tile would look like brand new so we agreed.
Paul said the job would take 2 full days. Day one the tile was stripped, and did look much cleaner at the end of the day. Before leaving, he said not to look at it too carefully until it was finished the next day, because it would look like new. He arrived a little after 8:00 the next morning. Around 9:30, I had to leave the house for an hour, but my husband was at home. I was very surprised when I returned home and he was long gone, given he said this would take two full days. My husband had paid Paul and said he would be emailing me to see what I thought of the job. Upon looking around, I noticed that the colored grout sealer was smeared across the surface of the tile in many areas (and very visible ones), making it look dirty and discolored. There were also stripes of it on the tile parallel to the grout, as if it was applied but not wiped off the tile. It was also smudged on the side of my bath tub and on my baseboards. I understand my tile is difficult to clean and the light color shows everything — but this is just pure sloppiness. There is also a large black mark on my relatively new stainless steel oven from where a rag had been duct taped to it for protection.
I waited a week for Paul’s email, but it never came. I then emailed him some photos of where I was seeing the problems. No reply. I emailed him again about a week later. He replied on ⁹⁄₇ and said he would have to come back out and re-​clean those areas. He said he was booked for the entire month of October, so he would have to look at his schedule and get back to me. He did not get back to me, so I emailed again. And again. Nothing. Now it was the end of September. So I called and left a message. No call back. Left another message a week later. No reply. Another message the next week, once again no reply. I had my husband leave a message a few weeks later. Still nothing. At this point, I am so frustrated, I say on his voice mail that if he is not going to come back out, I would like a partial refund so that I can hire someone else to re-​clean it. Again nothing.
It has been 3 ½ months since the first appointment, and I am confused by the lack of communication and customer service here. I continue to see Living Social deals offered and good reviews posted, yet I am unsatisfied with the job I paid almost $ 1000 for months ago. And I see this comment from Paul in response to a customer review on his website: «To me, great service also comes AFTER the job is complete. That is why we offer a 24 hours callback to make sure that you are 100% satisfied with your work. You did have a couple of tough areas that appeared once the grout had dried and we came back out to fix the issues.» So what happened here? I officially give up. I hired a professional because I was tired of trying to scrub the floors myself, yet now I am scrubbing grout sealer off the tiles one-​by-​one. And I am out a lot of money on top of it.

We used Surface Experts to clean our tile and grout today. Paul was responsive and professional from our first communication. Scheduling was easy, he arrived when he said he would and best of all he did an awesome job cleaning our tile and grout. The grout is off-​white and looks like new again! We are going to have him come back and do our carpets next and will use Surface Experts to clean the tile and grout again. I’m recommending him to our neighbors!

I used this company to clean the carpets in my condo. I really like the extra care they used when wearing ‘booties’ over their footwear and placing corner protectors on the wall to keep the walls from being soiled. I would recommend this company to anyone in Pinellas County.
