The Little Vintage Salon & Spa

We booked an appointment before and when we got there they had nothing on their books. We drove all the way there for nothing. Don’t ever use this salon. They couldn’t do the services they promised on groupon either. The woman who told us that there were no people to help us made it seem like it was our fault for the fact that THEY didn’t write down our appointment.

My friend and I purchased a Groupon for three services, we were very excited to have a spa day. This so called salon and spa was nothing of the sort. It was dirty, unorganized, and to say the least a hot mess. The owner said she would be just two minutes because she was trying to find a cd that wasn’t scratched. They couldn’t find a robe for us to wear for our massage and facial. The owner brought out a dirty — hairy robe for me to wear. Ewwww. The massage room was not a room, it was privacy screen with sheets draped over the screens. The massage chair for pedicures was broken. All in all horrible experience, we walked out without getting any spa services because we were concerned about our health.

I think I’m still trying to recover from my jaw dropping to floor after the owner Renee walked out on my service with less than a 10 word explanation. My mom purchased a package from living social as an after baby spa day. I was supposed to receive a 1-​hour facial, 1-​hour massage and mani/​pedi. The steamer was broken for the facial. Renee offered to not charge for the facial due to that, however I wasn’t sure how that would work with the package. The facial and body scrub (not really the massage expected) were very good! However those 2 combined services only last 45 minutes and not 2 hours… oh wait. Did I mention my appointment was for 2, was moved to 230, was moved again to 3– 45 minutes before my appointment — and I was seen at 330? I digress… The kicker was a fraction of the way through my pedicure, Renee announces she is feeling sick and has to leave. Now that may be the case which is unfortunate, but leave me with gritty scrub on my legs? Less than I minute later she was gone and I was left to sit in cold water until the lone nail tech in the salon finished with another client to come help me 20 minutes later. Manicure? That never happened. What else will never happen? Me going back.

I would love to give this place a great review since you want to try and give people the benefit of the doubt but I definitely should have read the reviews before I bought a groupon for this place. Granted I haven’t even gotten to use my groupon and probably won’t bother going. After purchasing the groupon I called on 2 separate days to schedule an appointment with no answer. People get busy I understand that, so I sent an email… still no response after days. Finally, I decided to drive all the way out there (I live in tampa so its not close) to actually schedule the appt. The appt was scheduled for a week later, no big deal. Day of the appt, I get a call stating they have to cancel it due to an emergency. I’m not insensitive I know things happen but I think they should at least have someone else see you or accommodate you. I was only given 2 options, both days at which I work. Granted I work a lot so trying to get in on THEIR time is a bit inconvenient for me. Lets just say I probably won’t be using my groupon based off of reviews and my already distasteful experience, it’s not worth the hassle.

Well, so far the 3 reviews that for whatever reason, Unilocal has decided are not suitable. .. do not mention anything about either their SUPPOSED Spa Mani’s or Spa Pedi’s — so here is MY take on these services that I visited this location for last nite thru a Groupon deal.
I do have to say that I was not excited about this place at all. In fact, something told me to call while I was on my way, as I would be arriving about 30 minutes before my scheduled appointment. Good thing I did call? Because when I booked the appointment, she did NOT put it in the book. Had I arrived at my scheduled time? There would have been NO ONE to do my Spa Mani & Spa Pedi.
As far as the actual services are concerned?
Well, I’m afraid all I can say is that if you are looking for a TRUE «Spa» experience for EITHER your Mani or Pedi?
This is NOT the place for you.
Just a couple tidbits to give you an idea:
1. After she appeared to have been almost done with my Pedi — I asked if she was going to trim my toe nails & she asked me if I wanted her to.
2. After my Pedi, we proceeded to her station for my Mani & she just started filing. I asked if she was going to soak my nails/​cuticles. AGAIN. .. she asked ME, if I wanted her to. Even after I said yes, one hand wasn’t even in the solution for more than 15 seconds.
If you’re looking for a place to have a possible «polish change». .. this could be the place for you. .. I wouldn’t go for much more.
Additionally? Apparently this USED to be La’Chic Salon & Spa located on West Bay in Largo. Can’t imagine what happened to that location. The people listed in the 3 reviews here? Are not at this place now.
The décor? Although chandeliers & vintage furniture CAN be nice? I definately got the feeling that I was in a fly by nite establishment.
