if you have chronic back/hip pain, you should try neuromuscular reprogramming. Your muscles get so used to working the wrong way, and this is one of the few modalities that retrains them.

After hearing very good things about this school from other massage therapists, I decided to give it a go. Took classes in 2007 and completed a CMT. I must say the instructors are top notch! When I give massages now, I get lots of positive feedback and I really owe it to the folks at this school. I highly recomend it if you are looking for high quality education.

ohmigod can we say«student massages»… or wait, we should say«seriously cheap yet really good massages». it’s $ 28/50min for a level 1 student and $ 38/50min for a level 2 student. the level 2 students have done deep tissue whereas the level 1 students haven’t. i’ve had a pretty good massage there every time i go(which is semi-regularly). it’s not a massage worthy of $ 60/hr, but it’s totally awesome for the price.

I live in Oakland and there’s a fair amount of Massage and Bodywork schools in the east bay, but it’s worth it to me to commute up to get the quality of education you find here. They have a strong basis in anatomy, a grounded respect in structural work and in energy work, amazing teachers and just a well rounded curriculum. The more I do this work and interact with bodyworkers who’ve studied in other schools, the more I’m grateful for choosing Alive and Well.
