Well it didn’t live up to the reviews I read. It is an old hotel that needs to be cleaned up a bit. I had wipes and Lysol to get out the old smoke smell. I never took off my shoes. Loud ac and breakfast was like other reviewers stated, donuts out of a package. Don’t waste your money. It started bad when we pulled up and two homeless kids asked if they could use my ID to help them check in. Should have left at that moment but it was only one night and after driving 8 hours decided to stay. Bad idea. There are plenty of hotels around to pick from…

I just spent two nights at this hotel, and my feelings are very mixed about the place. I can’t justify only two stars, but three is too much. I made the reservation early in the week, and requested a downstairs room. I got an e-mail stating that there weren’t any downstairs rooms available – that the only availability was an upstairs smoking room. I called early on the 6th and talked to Samantha, who told me that yes, there was a downstairs non-smoking room available and she reserved us for us. Upon arriving on May 8, the room was ready for us. We experienced a problem with the door lock and handle; after we told Samantha, she changed out the lock and we had no further problems. I commented that the maid who cleaned the room should have brought that issue to the attention of the office. The AC unit kept the room at just the temperature that we wanted. I strongly suggest that another lightweight blanket be made available – the blanket on the bed wasn’t enough, but the HEAVY bedspread was too much. The towels are flimsy; please invest in some decent towels. Sam’s Club and Costco both sell heavier towels for decent prices. The bathroom needs some major attention by the cleaning staff; the corners and edges of the room are just grungy. The wifi is a joke. First, it is slow — it has to be a dial-up connection to the hotel with a router for the rooms. Second, I was using an iPod, and every time I closed the screen on the iPod, to go to bed or dinner or out, the wifi disconnected. I had to log back into the wifi every time I wanted to use it.(Let me say that I HATE my iPod, and will never travel with it again.) Breakfast was another cosmic joke. I have never tasted such awful orange juice in all my life; I couldn’t finish the small cup I took. There was no hot water to make tea. There was only wheat bread for toast; I found no bagels at all, and if there had been any, they would have gotten lost in the toaster(another lady had a mini-bagel she had found somewhere). There were a few pastries, and Hubby had a waffle that he said was ‘meh.’ All in all, the«breakfast» that is offered here is pathetic. We left before breakfast on our second morning! The hotel is easy to find, but the parking situation is awful. Apparently there are some employees who park right out front and their vehicles create a problem accessing the front door. The back entrance is open only during daylight hours, and having our room next to the back door made for a long walk down the corridor. At 4:00 a.m., I thought I heard a shower running, but our bathroom was at the end of the building and I guess it was water running for the pool, as it ran for about 45 minutes. The water for my shower never did get HOT — it was medium-hot at best. The layout of the room isn’t good. The desk probably should not be in the corner; the fridge and microwave could be there, OR move the TV/drawers credenza to the corner at an angle with the fridge unit next to it and the desk next to the mirror. The five crappy pillows could be replaced by two king-sized FIRM pillows. There was NOTHING in the room to write on, and I found some of the prior occupant’s paperwork on the floor behind the desk, telling me that the room was not cleaned well. There should be notepads or hotel stationery or SOMETHING to write on, and we never did find a phone book or a yellow pages. I will try not to stay here again — if I ever decide to go back to Las Cruces.

Was taken care of by a nice gentleman who was not the receptionist nor clerk. Checking in at 11:00pm, was informed that checkout was at 6:00am. In what planet is this normal. Don’t waste your time with this place.
