The Dentist’s House

Dr. Fern is a caring and competent dentist. He has years of experience and it shows. He is gentle and I was very Comfortable. I am pleased with the work is done so far.

Dentist House is a next door neighbor of mine and Dr. Fern is underwriter for WKRG, local NPR station, so for these reasons he was my dentist for my first 4 years in Las Cruces. A full mouth x-​ray is the standard for the first visit. As a result, 2 caries and the need for 2 crowns were detected. With my subsequent visit the 2 caries and one of the crowns was taken care of. The other crown was done later. The two reasons for the low rating of Dr. Fern are the following. The two crowns, one on each side trap so much food that I have to floss out the accumulated trapped food in order for me to continue to eat at virtually every meal. As I mentioned the 2 caries were filled together with my crown. Yet on every subsequent visit, I was asked about scheduling an appointment for the 2 caries. When I pointed out that I had already had them filled, they said their must have been 2 additional caries on a different surface of the same two teeth. I guess, these 2 caries were MISSED in the examination of the the x-​rays or more likely Dr. Fern failed to the note the fillings on my chart. So, poor dentistry together with poor record keeping are the reasons I have secured a NEW dentist!
