I’m from Cleveland, Ohio and am used to low-cost community festivals celebrating local cultures. They feature local businesses and talent, and often allow politicians, who trying to gain support, to speak there. Sure enough, this was one of those events. Due to the hot sun and lack of unoccupied shaded areas I stayed only about a half hour in the small Sammie Davis Jr. Plaza venue, enough to see a local band, view the signs stuck in the grass for businesses, and hear a politician speak about supporting the community. I was perfectly fine about paying the $ 2 fee for a half hour visit. It was cheap and went to a good cause. It’s hard to rate an event like this. I’m not Filippino but I’ve been to similar events. I’d say 2 stars for the largely unshaded space that would’ve given me heat stroke if I’d stayed longer, and four stars for the community bonding.
