My sister and I were on our way out of town headed back home, and we needed one more New Mexican food fix. We were going to stop at one if our staple places, the Rialto, but realized it was closed on Mondays. At Charlie’s, a woman recommended Abraham’s for great Frito pies, which is right next door to the Rialto. We made it just in time before closing. Ordered two Frito pies, a chicharrón burrito and a calabacita burrito to go. I knew as soon as I took that first spoonful of red chile and Frito combination that this was going to be beyond good. It was a nice size bowl of Fritos, red chile, pintos and tasty toppings of cheese, lettuce and onions to set it all off. Though I do like my red chile really spicy, this chile had a smidgen of bite but it was tasty to say the least – definitely satisfied my craving! I will definitely be back! Oh, and the burritos were mighty fine, too. Just like Mom’s!
