Ace Donuts

I wanted Pawn Donuts, but was overruled by my daughter and hubby, so off to Ace we went. I had never had a donut from Ace, but in a meeting my husband had and thought they were good.
Arrived around noon on Sunday, and was greeted by a cute lady in pink-​black zebra striped apron.
We ordered a mélange; glazed donut, chocolate raised, apple fritter, buttermilk old fashioned, sprinkled. We just kind of sampled and noshed. I thought they were good. Very sweet icing on the sprinkles, a hint of lemon in the icing. The chocolate raised was good. Buttermilk old fashioned was great. My daughter said it was the best glazed she’d had in awhile.
I think I’m still partial to Pawn, but Ace is quite good, too.

Donuts are on point! You can tell they take pride in their donuts as well as their appearance (uniforms) and customer service. This place reminds me of the donut shops in OC/​LA area.

Needed to bring donuts for work so I thought I’d try this place. So glad I did! The place was clean, and the lady who helped me was very sweet. Definitely try the CRONUT! It was amazing! I will be back for sure!

I came in because I’ve been craving the cronuts and the ones they have here looks so good. There was not much left but that was my fault I came pretty late in the day.
Only a tray of picked through doughnuts were left nothing fun or exciting but I went ahead and go with their blueberry glazed donut. The lady behind the counter felt bad because I really want a cronut and they were also out of my plan b which was a French crueller so she gave me a free chocolate bar donut which was perfect because my that was my daughters favorite kind.
The lace was nice and clean and the ladies were friendly. Prices are good and the donut them selves were awesome. Soft fluffy dough even late in the day and perfectly sweeten glaze. I now have to come back and try the cronuts.

Literally the best donuts I’ve had in Vegas. They don’t disappoint every time I stop by. The ladies are also very sweet and kind and ALWAYS give complimentary donut holes. I will always come back for those cronuts!

Came here today with my parents and I was super ecstatic to try a cronut! They ran out of cronuts ;(sad day, but it’s a little expected for a Saturday. The nice lady that helped us tried to tell us to come back tomorrow and try our luck. Her genuine kindness made up for lack of cro cros for sure! :) I loved the way she packed our box too! Most places just throw their donuts in and smash other ones. She even gave us a few dounut holes!
The dounuts themselves were incredibly soft which is always a plus! I think I will be back and I hope I get to catch the cronut train before it takes off lol

The lady that own the place is so nice she gave us free donut holes. The dough of the donuts is so great the only problem I have here is the glaze. It’s a little too sweet. Other than that great place

Unfortunately I wasn’t impressed with this place. It was a Sunday morning and there were still a lot of selection left. I ordered the blueberry cruller, my daughter picked the chocolate glazed donut with sprinkles on a 4^th of it and my hubby got the cronut. As far as my cruller went, it was definitely nice that it was not overly sweet but that’s as far as I would say. The donut itself seemed stale and just hard to eat. I would compare the do it quality itself to just a grocery store donut. There was nothing like omg about it. The cronut was $ 3. My husband didn’t even realize that until he paid for it so he was a bit irritated. The cronut is a bit small for $ 3 and it was nothing to Unilocal about right away. Overall, for the the quality of donuts it wasn’t an OMG moment for me. With a lot of other donut places around I won’t be coming back here for some treat. Sorry Ace Donuts.

Today was my colleague’s last day at work so I HAD to get her donuts for breakfast. As I didn’t have the time to drive to my usual spot — Pink Box I decided to come here as it was on my way and someone else had brought a box of these to work before so I remember them being decent. The service was alright only because unfortunately I do not do well with those who speak with thick accents so I couldn’t understand a thing the employee was trying to say or ask me so I just finally said «give me all the blueberry flavors and whatever else is the most popular» so she finally shut up, filled the box and cashed me out. For $ 14 I got 12 gourmet doughnuts and 3 donut holes, not too shabby if you ask me. My colleague appreciated the blueberry choices and it made her farewell, bitter-​SWEET :)

Don’t really know how to even start this review… I was at a loss for words when I took a bite of my first glazed donut from Ace, oh wait that’s only because I swallowed the entire thing as soon as I tasted it! I would have eaten more if my sister would have brought me more.
I am a huge sweet lover. I have had many types of donuts from many places all which were satisfying but none that are on the level of these appetizing donuts! You have to have them fresh to get the full flavor and enjoyment. Definitely not something you want to leave sitting overnight. They are much better when eaten the same day! These donuts should be a sin because you can’t eat just one! Lol They also make these huge birthday donuts everyday which look incredible. These are by far the best donuts I have ever eaten!

They may not have all the crazy flavors or creativity that other shops have but, what they lack in originality they make up for in execution. The apple fritter, which everyone seems to rave about, is textbook perfect with its crisp, crunchy exterior and soft, chewy interior dotted with sweet chunks of apple. They have two sizes — a small size perfect for most individuals and a large size that can be split amongst friends or family.
They have several flavors of croissant donuts like blueberry crumble and maple bacon. I opted for a simple chocolate cronut. Cutting into it reveals a thing of beauty — an airy interior with layers upon layers of separated pastry. The semi sweet chocolate icing complimented it all, creating a treat perfect for those wanting a restrained level of sweetness.
The place is owned by a cute older Asian couple. From what I gathered, the woman spent many years perfecting her craft at other donut shops before finally opening up her own store. With their moderate pricing and excellent quality there shouldn’t be any reason for people in the area to patronize chain donut shops.

Ace donuts has given me renewed faith for french cruller’s. I had given up and usually never order them, but thanks to a review here, I gave it a shot. The dough is SO delicious, and the texture is perfection… exactly how a yummy french cruller should taste. I got the one with blueberry frosting on top (which was a tad too sweet for me). I think I’ll just get a plain one next time.
The cinnamon crumb cake donut and the blueberry cake donut was also impressive – the cake batter is unbelievable. Where did these ladies get trained? I have no clue.
The blueberry fritter was also good– crispy and with a soft texture.
I’m normally a huge fan of glazed buttermilk, but it wasn’t my favorite here. The ham and cheese croissant was average.
Oh, and let’s not forget the CRONUT. I got the mini maple bacon. It was quite legit. I highly recommend trying them.

Ace Donuts is the latest and possibly the greatest donut shop to grace this desert.
I rarely find myself anywhere this side of town, so I knew I had to take the opportunity to visit them after the monthly food fair at Chaiya. As with all the great donut shops, Ace Donuts is nondescript. It’s so nondescript that it’s right next to Domino’s Pizza. It faces Tropicana, but meandering around the Hobby Lobby lot is doable if you take a left onto Fort Apache when approaching from the highway.
Donuts are $ 1 a pop, $ 5.95 for six, or $ 9.99 for a dozen. They list gourmet donuts at $ 1.35, but I’m not really clear on that and probably obtained at least one of those in my box. I wish I could stomach the dozen by myself because they offer a buy-​10-​dozen-​get-​1-​dozen-​free stamp card, but I really couldn’t, so I went for the not-​really-​any-​savings half-​dozen. In retrospect, I probably could have grabbed one or two extra donuts without being cost-​inefficient.
The blueberry fritter is at least as good as what you can find at Real Donuts. Plenty of blueberry flavor, perhaps lighter/​fluffier, and very satisfying in spite of how full I already was. The apple fritter, even day-​old, is the best I can remember having. You must get the fritters when you come here.
The raspberry jelly-​filled elicits another favorable comparison to Real Donuts. While there’s less jelly in Ace’s rendition, the raspberry flavor is more vibrant.
The chocolate French cruller is the best that I’ve had in my limited experience. Little crispy on the outside, fluffy and even moist on the inside. Reminds me of a great beignet I recently ate, which is not surprising since they’re both traditionally made from choux pastry. I think it’s a probably a bit better than the Donut Hut cruller.
The blueberry cake donut (not to be confused with the blueberry glazed donut, which I have yet to try) is another treat that reminded me of another shop, this time being Donut Hut. It’s significantly different than I expected. The ample cake-​y consistency is similiar, but the purple frosting and lack of blueberries studding the interior are definitely not the same. Flavor-​wise, Donut Hut’s version is superior to Ace’s. I make this comparison with confidence because I just so happen to have a 2-​day old Donut Hut version to taste side-​by-​side.
The maple old-​fashioned donut held up just fine after a day. No comparisons with other donut shops come to mind, but like everything else, it’s significantly better than the donut chains or supermarkets.
I arrived too late to find any croissant donuts ($ 1.50 small, $ 3.00 large), so I would deduce that they don’t really bake anything after 11am. Definitely interested in trying those next time if I can get up early enough and find a reason to drive across town. I might also dabble in the $ 2.50 «fancy donuts» (Texas glaze, apple fritter, cinnamon roll, bear claw), most of which had also disappeared by my relatively late visit, or the croissants
One of the ladies offered me a donut hole to sample as I was trying to make up my mind, and I definitely enjoyed the fluffy and lightly sweet ball of goodness. I do feel a bit shortchanged after seeing some reviewers rave about their multiple free donut holes, but I’ve otherwise enjoyed everything about this place. Well, except the drive from Henderson.
Overall, this is absolutely a donut destination that fans of the pastry need to visit, locals and tourists alike. Just try to get in early in the morning for a better selection.

I’ve been having injections in my back, and after each one I ask my husband to take me for donuts. I made sure he took me here this time after all the great things I’ve been hearing on Unilocal.
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to go in because I was still wobbly and my husband couldn’t understand the woman behind the counters accent when he asked her what certain donuts were, (none of them were labeled). So he got me basic donuts that he knows I like and that he likes… glazed cruller, sugared, glazed, chocolate cake, coconut and a maple bacon cronut. They were wonderful, like donuts from back east, fluffy and soft, good taste. The cronut wasn’t that great but I’m not a big cronut fanatic.
I will definitely go back when I can go inside and do my own selection.

A few years back, due to health issues and frequent dentist visits, I actually filed a restraining order against doughnuts. Glazed, jelly, frosted, munchkins… all on my shit list.
The attorney, whose number I found stapled to a telephone pole on Twain and Valley View, assisted in submitting my papers and notified me a week later via telegram that everything was filed. Doughnuts could not be within a 3 mile radius of my home residence.
Thanks to Unilocalers, I was informed that «Ace Donuts» had opened and that they were technically 2.8 miles away from my home. I was furious and tried calling my attorney. Her phone number was no longer in service nor did she have a Unilocal business profile, email or website. It was like she never existed! Strange. So I took matters into my own hands, armed with my court papers, and marched right into the store. I was ready to tear this place a new one.
Then this little old Asian lady behind the counter stopped me before I could say anything and asked softly:
«You know about cronuts?»
Me: «Yes. I had one in NYC but was too drunk to remember if it was good.»
Lady: «We have blueberry, strawberry, raspberry and cinnamon today.»
Me (taking my wallet out quickly and nervously): «I’ll take all of them plus an apple and glazed doughnut.»
I walked out of there in a daze with my box of sugared delights having been thoroughly owned, dominated and made that lady’s bitch in less than 2 minutes. Cronuts didn’t exist when I filed my restraining order. Maybe that was their legal loophole?
My happy little taste buds were going through what could only be referred to as «multiple orgasms» as I ate the raspberry croissant doughnut. Flaky, doughy, sweet, tart, and heavenly, I couldn’t wait to try the next one. All of them were amazing! It was after the initial cronut that I took the restraining order papers, threw them in the garbage and set them ablaze.

Finally it’s open after weeks of seeing and passing the sign almost everyday. Let me tell you it’s worth the wait. Located in a strip mall around the corner of Tropicana and Fort Apache sits this little gem. It’s a quaint mom and pop donut shop with minimal décor but their products and friendly service are what makes them shine. They offer a variety of donuts from your good ol glazed to the often sought after cronut and all the yummy goodness in between. Prices are comparable to the more known Dunkin donuts but Ace’s quality surely surpasses. They open at 5 am which is super convenient to stop by and grab treats to surprise the coworkers with.

LOL read Ryan H’s review, couldn’t agree more. Glad to know I’m not alone in that department. It seems like whenever I come here I tend to pay more and more. I always just order half a dozen but I never pay $ 5.99 like how it’s advertised (and yes I am aware cronuts are $ 3) The last time I visited, I ordered a dozen and bam total bill was over $ 16 and this was after I asked her which donuts were part of the 9.99 price tag: her answer was 4 of the special and the rest regular donuts. It’s not going to stop me from going there because I do like the quality and the ladies are nice, I just wont get a dozen anymore hahahaha.

I have had my eye in thai location for a little bit. I saw the coming soon sign and when I started seeing the reviews slowly trickle in I was excited that they finally opened up.
I walked in around 7am and they were well stocked on goodies. They offer mini versions of their croissant donuts as well as fritters. I bought a few different donuts to share with my coworkers.
The croissant donut was delicious. Not at all greasy and have a great crunch and was still moist inside. The cruller was perfectly cooked and had a nice texture. The blueberry fritter was nice as well. Lots of berries in the fritter and not overly glazed, which is a big plus for me.
Service was nice and their prices are on par with other donut shops in the valley. I’ll be back.

I am not much of a doughnut person anymore but this place could convert me. I stopped here because of Michael U’s glowing review because I know what high standards he has.
I got two fritters – an apple and a blueberry – and one croissant doughnut, a.k.a., cronut, that was raspberry filled. The fritters were both quite good and while one was bought for my wife, she only got a small taste of it. I had it gone in a flash.
She didn’t care for the raspberry cronut thinking it was too sweet. I soon dispatched the rest of that so she didn’t have to suffer.
