What a great experience. The owner is a very friendly and sociable person. He was very helpful in guiding us to different options and helping us figure out what we wanted to order. The food was very good. Gyros were well made and did not fall apart while eating them. He was very apologetic because the meat had crumbled and gave us a gyro’s worth of extra meat. Went back and had the same great service and experience. So glad to have a friendly place and great experience(unlike the awful experience at the Little Greek).

Went there a few months ago. I tired the falafel and the gyro. Both were a-ok – nothing special or spectacular. Food moderately priced. The customer service was phenomenal though! You can tell that they have a real interest in their customers. You can tell they take pride in making the food and making it to order. I did like the hot sauce. Super garlicy.

We had the pistachio baklava and the falafel and the Greek salad. The dressing on the salad was amazing. The greens were fresh. The baklava was not too sweet but flaky and yummy. The falafel was really amazing. Fresh and creamy.

I tried Greek food here for the first time. I had a regular Gyro which was very good. I especially loved the pistachio Baklava and will go back just for it.

Had the Greek fries and both baclava. Fried were on point all the way up, gonna go back for those gyro fries. The baclava was good, prefer the pistachios one.

I would give this place 6 stars if I could. The owners treat you like friends and the food is just phenomenal. They make everything fresh to order so we got to relax for a few minutes while they made the kabob. The shawarma gyro was the best thing in a pita I’ve ever had. You can tell they take pride in the quality of the food and ingredients. Definitely will be going back repeatedly.

What I had. Lamb/Beef Gyro & Tropical Thunder Smoothie Rotisserie Chicken Platter What I thought… YUMYUMYUMYUMMYYUMYUM. The gryo was delish-I-OUS! For my ultra carnivores, you may want to double up on the meat as they give a conservative portion. The meat portion in the gyro was enough for me today, as I am trying to cut back calories(non diet me was like dang… I should gotten two, but my will power prevailed today lol) First I love that I can order on my phone and pick it up. Second I adored that they didn’t make my smoothie until I got there so it was fresh(I see the thoughtfulness!) and the smoothie was GR E A TTTTT, no… like really great!!!. I usually order lunch and dinner together during my busy days, therefore I saved the chicken platter for dinner. I took some nibbles of the chicken platter and it was frickin’ delicious too. My wallet loves this place too, I got lunch and dinner for $ 20.52 total(affordable! and no cooking today!). This place is A+, and will be going on my permanent lunch rotation schedule. A place where I can get gyros and smoothies, 2 of my favorite things, made well together is happiness…

Great little place, got takeout just now. I got the sampler and a two meat gyro to test it out. It was all great. The sampler was decent sized and the salad was fresh. The gyro was good also. I don’t know what the deal was with some of the bad reviews but I have no complaints. I am going to check out other Mediterranean places but this place is decent. I will be back.

The long time owners sold the place last year(2015). Usually, this doesn’t fare well for a small owner-operated restaurant/deli like this. I have to give props to the new owners. The menu items are the same — just as great food, if not even better. It appears the same affordable prices are intact(thank you). The counter help(I don’t remember her name) was very friendly and helpful. Bottom line: still great, affordable, tasty Mediterranean food.

There has been a change of ownership I the last year. I thought the first time I came after that change was going to be my last. The food is as good if not better than before but that first time the service was awful. I was the only diner and it took almost 30 minutes for me to get my food. During the wait I could only imagine how poor it was going to be, where was the Baladie of old !? Luckily the food was worth the wait. I vowed to give them another chance and have been back several times since and have not experienced anywhere close to a 30 minute wait. Customer service could do with a little improvement. On more than one occasion I have seen a newbie come in and the menu is never explained in an inviting and exciting way. I hope they are not losing customers due to this, I’d hate to lose this, one of my favorite little lunch spots.

I stopped in here for lunch. Both the food and service were top notch. I ordered a falafel and a Gyro with the herb fries. Their fries were very tasty, and had a delicious seasoning sprinkled on them. The gyro was also well seasoned, with a good portion of meat. You definitely get a good bang for your buck. I’ll be back soon :)

We stopped here for lunch on a day off. Really good food and even better service. The restaurant was charming on the inside and was very very clean, even looking behind the counter. Impressive to see ownership and management take such pride in their cleaning service. We will definitely be back. The fries are spectacular by the way.

If you are shawarma lovers like us, you are in for a treat ! This place is a treasure chest full of delights like falafel, lentil soup and wraps :) we had both chicken and beef/lamb shawarma and BOTH were really good! Mild sauce, good meat, just the right amount of lettuce — perfect combination and a recipe to win us as loyal customers :)

Man, I hate giving one stars. But this place needs to call Gordon Ramsey’s kitchen nightmares show. I have no clue where the 4 and 5 star reviews come from. This place sucks. My boyfriend and I were in the area and decided to give it a shot. First of all the owner, is amazing. Really nice guy. Walking in, the place is hideous. Everything is outdated. Food wise: 1. Our chicken shawarma and gyro«platter» meat was microwaved. Disgusting! 2. The platter itself was literally, a de-constructed, terribly cut, over-seasoned pita wrap. And we paid a few dollars more for it. 3. The veggies were frozen. WTF. So disappointed. The baklava was slimy too. It was really strange. Yes, I paid for all of it. Please taste your food before serving it. Because, it’s pretty bad.

You don’t even deserve to get this one star I went here for lunch with my husband We been here before when older couple used to own them, but now don’t even waste your time We ordered gyro and lamb plate, both tasted like shit it was disgusting, place was dirty, almost no meat which was dry like stone and pita tasted old. No customer service at all, my husband’s food was the nastiest food that u can ever try. We left the place hungry and defiantly will never be back and would recommend no one to eat at this place, unless they want to waste their money for nothing. They should close this place.

Gyro wrap combo with mint tea. Wow. It’s been 6 months since I had been here and under new ownership it is wonderful. The tzaziki is now fresh and made properly with yogurt. The wrap is bursting with lamb and beef and the crunch of the cucumber is so fresh. The frys and fry sauce leave you wanting more. The employees are very helpful and wonderful to speak with. PI will not be waiting another six months before I come back. Well done!

Had I Unilocaled years ago perhaps I would’ve inputted a review sooner. But it has literally been about 4 years since we first and last came here. Why first and last? While it is great that we have a Mediterranean establishment nearby… I have also been spoiled by another Mediterranean that is across town when it comes to quality. We came in because at the time the Baskin Robbins near it was the nearest Baskin Robbins from our home. Husband and I were excited to find a spot close to home and for cheap(considering how much we pay for a gyro at our fave greek spot). I ordered the chicken gyro(6.99) with feta cheese. Which at the time I believe was an extra charge of 50 or 75cents? Dont recall. While it wasn’t lousy, it also wasn’t meeting my expectations. The tzatiki sauce was rather bland and even the feta cheese tasted flat. Love me some feta! The pita itself was pretty good, though. I do remember their fries being pretty good. Think what else turned me off from coming back was not only the gyro just alright to me… we ordered a kids chicken nugget meal for my then almost 2 year old and was disappointed that we got served the Mickey mouse nuggets you find from costco. It was disappointing because we had a bag of it sitting in our freezer at that time! I would buy it because I would cook that for lunch for my then 2 boys a few times a week. I remember walking out feeling disappointed and still hungry to be frank. I do want to go back again to give them another shot. Maybe twas a bad day for my taste buds? Taste buds under weather? Taste buds gone fishinh? I don’t know. Whatever it is though I walked out bummed as I was really hoping for something deeelish! However, I would recommend this place if you’re nearby. I really wouldn’t suggest to anyone to make journey here if it is out of one’s way.

New owners! Richie & Taml are two of the nicest people you want to meet. I noticed that their negative reviewers never checked in, so in my mind they have zero credibility since there is no evidence that they were ever here. That’s why we came in to make our own judgement. This is a fantastic lunch treat but they’re open from 9 to 8. I had the Shawerma & my wife ordered a Gyros. The hummus & tzatziki sauce are both made of premises; both are excellent. We also shared a basket of Mediterranean seasoned fries with Tami’s secret dipping sauce which we thoroughly enjoyed. For dessert, we inhaled the Namora and Baklava with some Turkish coffee, they were so delicious. This place is such a hidden jewel!

I can get Mediterranean food anywhere! But the service I received was what I came for. From the minute we came in, we were greeted with smiles and they treated us like family. I love supporting local businesses and this is definitely the place to support! The food was good. Ordered the chicken kabob plate and the portion was huge. Chicken was a little dry but not enough to not eat it haha. Definitely will come back to try something new!

You have got to be kidding me! I went here hoping that it would be awesome Mediterranean food. I love to support small businesses and I love Mediterranean food. I ordered a lamb & beef gyro for my wife & a spanakopita platter for me. My wife says the gyro tasted good but it barely had any meat. The spanakopita was a HUGE disappointment. It was the spanakopita triangles that you can buy at Costco. Unreal! If you claim to be a Mediterranean restaurant, you’d better get someone in that kitchen that can make one of the most basic(yet tasty) Greek items of all time. This was unacceptable. We won’t be back to this place.

This is a review that kinda got lost in the shuffle… Sadly, according to Christie L.‘s more recent review, ownership has changed…(sad face) The couple that used to run the place gave some of the best service, as if you were dining in their home. You hardly come across places like these nowadays. We shared a sampler plate, Shawerma, and the owner’s childhood favorite(He would say«Everybody gets Lentil, they’re missing out on my favorite soup since I was a kid!»), Shorba Soup and Tea as our beverage of choice. The sampler platter hit the spot as it had a great variety of flavors and textures going on, and the Shorba Soup was deliciously hearty without weighing you down. The owner also tempted us with dessert and of course, we went with two winners, the Baklava and Rice Pudding. Don’t know how Baladie is now, but with new owners, I think I’ll just hang on to that one memorable visit. ALOHA!!! Shaks Meter: \uuu/\uuu/\uuu/\uuu/4

Second time visiting. Before i can even eat their food i am humbled by the hospitality i received from the owners. Good people that make great food. I had their shawarma both times in addition to their new Mediterranean seasoned chicken fingers and fries. Which were delicious. I highly recommend anyone to go and dine there. Support this local business. If for nothing else, go for the fries!!!

Under new management, still the same friendly service! Some new things added to the menu like smoothies and chicken wings. We both got the lamb & beef gyro pita wraps… very filling! The seasoned fries are addicting too. Only con? A little location so tables fill up quick depending on day/time. Also, they have no restroom inside(but the owner was so generous to let me use their employee restroom, as I literally was about to burst!). We will definitely be back! Thank you for a delicious meal and impeccable service! :)

The food here was pretty good. My wife had a gyro and I had a beef /lamb shawarma. The fries are delicious! Overall, food quality 3.5÷5 The guy at the register was really friendly and it was good to have a place like that open so early so we were so excited to try this new place out. One thing that really grinds my gears… Are restaurant /dine in places that don’t have customer rest rooms! Thank goodness it was just me and my wife or we would all be making separate trips to the sears outlet, 5 stores away! I would never take my 4 years old and 1 year old here. Ridiculous! If the food is amazing then I would consider going back but i just don’t have any reasons to do so. *insert sad face *

Brought my family here for the first time. We ordered #2 with(3) Gyro meat and(1) chicken. An order of seasoned fries and bakhlava(pistachio and walnut). Food was excellent! Bakhlava(pistachio) was my favorite. The food was presented great compared to other Meditteranean restaurants. Usually, it would be served with all food mixed together. Not here, food is separated to make the dish how you want!(Perfect idea!). Great sauces and seasoned fries! Gyro meat was WONDERFUL! Owners and staff were so nice and helpful with ordering and answering questions! Only downfall is no public restroom. Will be bringing my parents here next time they visit!

I stopped in for lunch the other day and was really disappointed. The nice older couple who ran Baladie Café for years were no longer there and the girl behind the counter told me that there are new owners now and they were given the recipes previously used and were trying to make everything the same. My food tasted nothing like I experienced before at Baladie Café. The girl working I have to say was very polite and nice. I have no complaints with her service at all. Inside however was really dirty and had a funky smell. After I placed my order and sat down to wait for it, a guy walked in and after looking at the menu and asking questions about why the prices had gone up and mentioning that the dining area could use some cleaning he decided to walk out and not place an order. I began to feel nervous about my order, but just hoped for the best. Veggie Gyro($ 6.99) — The pita didn’t taste fresh and was sort of dry. Inside the veggies were pathetic! Before the gyros were long and skinny, but they still had a decent amount of fillings and this one was a joke! I have never seen such a flat gyro. I know I got a veggie and not meat gyro, but before they still stuffed it with plenty of fresh veggies. This time the cucumbers were shaved paper thin and I had only one of those thin cukes inside. The tomatoes were mushy and some of it was just thin pieces of tomato skin. I had to pay an extra .99 cents for feta cheese that was only put on half of the gyro and had a taste to it that wasn’t right. I don’t think a lot of what was used was fresh at all. The tzatziki sauce tasted like really bland yogurt or sour cream and it was a terrible, terrible, terrible pass for tzatziki sauce. After 2 bites I was done. Seasoned Fries($ 1.99) — Yuck! They were so oily and the seasoning was just way too much. Gyros Platter($ 9.99) — Lamb and beef, tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers, tzatziki sauce and 2 pitas. Well, that’s what you are supposed yo get! We only got 1 pita(dry and not fresh), 2 of those thin cucumber shavings, tomato shavings, lettuce and tzatziki sauce. The tzatziki sauce was the same as on the gyro and tasted bland and like yogurt or sour cream. The veggies were sad looking and the gyro meat was way too salty. The meat was more like over seasoned beef jerky. Baklava($ 2.25) — They should really stick to the old $ 1.75 a piece price tag because what I had this visit was rock hard and not fresh. A whole box now costs $ 12. I’m sad because I never had better baklava before than the baklava I had when the other owners were here. After seeing the inside so dirty and the poor of excuse of food they are putting out now here, I can’t see returning.

Two things. 1) Baladie Café has the best fries ever and; 2) the husband and wife duo that manage this local gem are some of the most friendly people you’ll ever meet. I have loved Baladie’s ever since I first ate there. A friend recommended this quaint eatery to us as the closest thing we could get to a German Doner Kabob in Las Vegas. After eating at Baladie’s, my husband can confirm this to be true! What I love about Baladie’s is that the food is incredibly consistent and more importantly, delicious! The owners are from Algeria and just radiate warmth. The wife cooks up the meals and the husband entertainingly takes orders. On almost every visit, I’ve witnessed the owners chatting it up with customers like old friends. Sometimes they give out hugs too! I get the gyro without any meat($ 5.50) and a side of herb fries($ 1.60). The gyro wrap is smallish in size but makes up for that in flavor. It’s actually the perfect amount of food. I don’t usually get excited about the cucumbers or tomatoes in gyros, but I do when I’m at Baladie’s. Don’t even get me started on those fries. I have to hold myself back from ordering two orders of the herb fries. The café is intimate and located in a pretty desolate shopping center on Lone Mountain and Decatur. The drinks are self-serve. Customers scoop up their own utensils and napkins, but the owners will always check up on you and ask if you enjoyed your meal. Worth a Return Visit? I cannot recommend Baladie Café enough, people! It’s one of the best places to eat at in North Las Vegas. Unilocal100CHALLENGE2015: #75
