Not worth it… with prices this high, you’d expect extraordinary, but in reality you get mediocrity. From the margarita flight then dish to dish. it was all just totally unimpressive. the worst of all was the mole bistec that tasted like they burnt every ingredient they could then burned the pan and poured the remnants(mole sauce) on top of a good looking steak. I can’t believe they pass this off as a dish, literally spit it out as it entered my mouth.

Server charged me for an extra dish that I did not consume and would not reverse the charge off my bill.

The food is very good, but very expensive for the size of dishes. We were told that the 20 vegetable rice and Dan Dan noodles would be more than enough for two, but the bowls were small. We got the terra cotta warrior dessert which was okay. The best part was the ginger ice cream but it only came with half a scoop. The décor is great and service was good, but don’t expect much value for the money.

Sometimes I don’t know how to rate these restaurants. On one hand, they use exceptional ingredients and prepare the food in well. On the other hand, they can never seem to get the flavors right and are often way overpriced. Came here to eat cause we didn’t want to venture too far from the room, and we were a bit hungover. It was pretty late in the afternoon so there was no line and we got seated right away. Got the swallow the cloud soup, cause we really wanted some soup. The noodles were well made and prepared, but the broth was just average. Got the monks chili on the side($ 2.88) and that helped a lot, but come on now, $ 3 for a side of chili??? It’s usually free and left in jars at the table in most asian restaurants. The whole plate wasn’t «destroy the noodles and slurp every last drop of soup» satisfying. There are some places on the strip that make much better noodles. Also got the Sui Mai Luck 6 platter. Decent Sui Mai, but again, you need the chii to boost it up in flavor. Over all, it was a decent experience. We sat at the bar and the bartender seemed very knowledgable about the food they offered. Although I cry about the $ 3 Monk’s Chili, it was really good, and the most impressive thing I ordered. Probably wouldn’t come back, but worth a try once.

Service was actually 0 Stars, the food was a 2. The manager had to take our food & drink orders because the server was nowhere around. 1st course was ok, but nothing to rave about. 2nd course of never came & then our main course arrived. We explained(to yet another rude & clueless employee) that we still haven’t received our shu mai. About 6 – 7 min later, a different, but less nice manager brought our forgotten course… which by the way was not good. Instead of apologizing for their mistakes, she made excuses for the kitchen. U don’t send out the main course before an appetizer. Period! When it was time for dessert we finally saw our server Beatrice. I’m guessing because it was close to the end of the meal and she was fishing for a better tip than was deserved. It was like seeing a unicorn. LOL. 1st& last visit to China Poblano… extremely disappointing.

The service here was amazing! The food was so different as well. Warning though don’t get the duck tongue taco, I don’t know what my drunk mind was thinking. I loved the dumplings and the dan dan noodles. I hope I’ll be back here again to try other dishes. It was quick and convenient if you’re staying in the Cosmo or leaving from Marquee

Hot and sour soup with beef: Delicious. Spacious sitting, friendly prompt attentive service. You need to have a palate for a Mexican-Chinese fusion as odd as that might sound you won’t be disappointed!

The art and décor in the restaurant is what drew us in. Was greeted promptly and seated quickly as well. Our server Ali seemed confident and was attentive. We gave him the reins on ordering our food for us. The carnitas taco was amazing! My boyfriend is Mexican himself and he gave it the«thumbs up.» The server also sent out tuna ceviche, the favors were bright and refreshing. The star of our lunch was the golden pigs. I’m a big fan of steamed buns and this was by far the best I’ve ever had. Sweet and tender pork, soft, squishy hot bun and the dipping sauce was icing on the cake. We were on a time crunch and he got us in out quickly. I was surprised how attentive he was and checked on us during each dish.

We had a small issue with our server as she put in part of our order incorrectly. Took a bit to long to bring out the new dish when it should have been expedited. The manager came over apologized and took care of the issue. Despite that they definitely deserve a 5 star rating. They made good out of an issue and our new server Jose was great. The food is AMAZING!!! Of course you would only expect the best from this top chef. We can’t wait to come back and try something else. Make sure you save room for dessert because they are even more spectacular.

Stopped by here yesterday and was promptly seated at the bar. The bartender was very friendly and helpful with the menu. I ordered the Siu Mai quail eggs, carnitas tacos, and shrimp MOJO. All were so imaginative and tasty dishes. I am impressed! The quail eggs were so perfectly cooked that when you put it in your mouth the eggs popped. The shrimp MOJO road the line between sweet and spicy. The carnitas were to die for and I especially liked the crispness. Good street tacos are not easy to find anymore so this was so special. I can’t wait to give it a go again.

I don’t get some of the low ratings. You gotta be a true foodie to really appreciate it I guess… I love going for the more adventurous fusion tacos, like with oyster or duck tongue but they have plenty of great food for the fearful eaters and over tasters. Nice and creative fusion drinks too… ANDDESSERT:-)

I wasn’t sure what to expect from a Chinese Mexican hybrid restaurant. The two cuisines are literally worlds apart and I don’t associate one with the other. But it kind of made sense when I saw the menu. Instead of combining the two flavors on one plate, the dishes fall into either one of the two food categories. It’s still a little odd to see Chinese noodle dishes next to tacos on a menu but at least they’re not mixed together in the same dish. My boyfriend and I chose to go the Mexican route and each ordered a taco(Hongos for him and a Pollo a la Parilla for me) and the queso fundido to share. We also ordered a side of chips and salsa to use with the queso since the dish is only served with a side of tortillas. The queso is quite stringy and a bit difficult to scoop but tasted great. Of course, how could you go wrong with a bowl of cheese?!? Ordering the chips was a good decision though as it gave more variety to the appetizer than just making quesadillas. My chicken taco had great flavor and, since I asked for the guacamole on the side, I was able to put a little on the taco and use the rest to dip my chips in. My boyfriend had no complaints about his mushroom taco. Were they worth $ 5? Probably not but this is Vegas and the $ 5 taco was still one of the cheapest options. Our friends went the opposite route and ordered mainly off the Chinese side of the menu. They were far less impressed. First, they started with an appetizer of ceviche. For $ 15, you would think that it would be served with some kind of chip to scoop the fish but just as we had to order chips for our queso, they had to order chips for the ceviche too. While our table agreed among ourselves that this was odd and not what we’ve experienced at other restaurants, the waiter insisted that this was normal. I can’t remember exactly which other dishes that they tried but I think one was the steamed buns. They weren’t feeling the dishes though.

Not that great. Better places in Vegas. Very expensive for small portions. First, we had trouble finding this place coming from off the street. At the time, there was a bit of construction going on outside the hotel, so that definitely led to the confusion, but it’s sort of tucked away with a few other places in the back corner of the hotel. Second, this place was frigid cold and mostly empty and it appeared that management was interviewing people at a vacant table on the side. Don’t you have a private room where that can be done? The food portions are very small and just not that tasty. I had the Twenty Vegetable Fried Rice dish that was around $ 20 and it was just meh. Service was ok. Nothing to write home about. My husband got a real Mexican Coke which was cool and he enjoyed but of course, that wasn’t cheap. Save your money and go elsewhere, there are much better places on the strip.

Twenty Vegetable Fried Rice $ 19.88 Mapo Tofu $ 12.88 Silencio(Duck Tongue and fresh lychee taco) $ 5.50 Mango Sticky Rice $ 10 The fried rice was ok but for around $ 20 I can get a lot more food with fried rice somewhere else. The tofu was good but nothing special. The duck tongue taco was the best thing I tasted. If the order came with 2 tacos instead of 1(actually i should say that with all the tacos on the menu!), I definitely would come back here more often. The mango sticky rice was actually meringue with mango sauce with chocolate flavored rice crispies on top. It tasted good but again I thought it wasn’t worth $ 10. I can’t say my experience was bad but I wouldn’t say great either. I would say ok to good. The service and ambience were great. In general, this resto has good food but a little too overpriced for me to come back again… Note: Guacamole here is $ 15 with chips…

Very interesting combination of food under one establishment. This restaurant offers Chinese and Mexican fusion eats, both available at one location… We decided to give this place a try since we are staying at the Cosmo and wanted to find something within the hotel. The front of the restaurant has a very eclectic vibe with many different colors and Chinese/Mexican heritage décor throughout. I love all the loud colors from the exterior, and inviting décor. The hostess at the entrance was nice and got us seated right away. Our server Theron, was on point on providing special recommendations. The food is definitely an acquired taste. Don’t come in thinking that the food found here is what you’ll find in some fast food because it’s not anything found in fast food places. The food here definitely has a fusion kick being that the food is definitely in the fancier side, than normal. The plates are on the smaller side, so the idea of this restaurant is more tapas and family style. The idea is to order multiple dishes that you can share with amongst everyone on the table. All in all after ordering 5 dishes with 3 alcoholic beverages of bill was just about less than $ 100. Would I recommend it for friends to try? Let’s just say I’m not rushing to tell my friends about this foodie experience. Customer service is great, but I think the food is too fancy for me, when all that I want after day drinking is a greasy taco or bowl of shrimp fried rice.

This place was so great! My friend recommended it and I’m so glad! We had the margarita flight, chips, salsa, guacamole and lobster tacos. Everything was amazing– and the service was really good, too. I would definitely come back here, as they had lots of other options on the menu and everything looked/sounded delicious!

I’ve been to China Poblano several times now. It’s one of my go-to options in the Cosmo as it has a diverse menu, affordable prices, and the layout is unique. One half of the restaurant is Chinese, the other half is Mexicano. Those lookin’ for a celebrity chef experience, Jose Andres provides one, at a price that doesn’t break the bank. Dishes are severed small plate(tapas) style/small bites. Great for sharing(which I recommend) as there a lot of interesting, unique flavors; some of which are very hit or miss. First, I always order chips and salsa, it’s sad that you have to pay for that, but it’s the Strip, I am surprised water doesn’t come with a service fee(I jest). When is chips and salsa NOT a solid choice? Never. Order them. It’s a big bowl of salsa and warm fresh chips! Nom. My favorite taco by far is the Pancita Al Pastor, something about pork belly and pineapple combo has always won me over, CP was no exception. Never met an al pastor I didn’t like. The Viva China with steak and a oyster was a must order because it was a unique take on surf and turf. This was interesting, not bad, not outstanding, very unique. Glad I experienced it, probably would order it again, but haven’t. The Pescado Estico Baja was probably my least favorite fish taco ever. The flavors were just wrong. I do like that the fish was grilled(usually fish tacos are fried), but the flavors were just whack. Skip. My FAVEFAVEFAVE dish is the Dan Dan Mian. Spicy, sweet, savory, nutty, porky and noodly. This dish is just perfect. Any time I can eat noodles with chopsticks I feel like a cultural boss. ORDER this. My second favorite dish is the Twenty Vegetable Fried Rice. Each time I’ve gone my counter part has ordered this and it’s amazing. The vegetables included are seasonal so the dish was a little different each time. Solid beer, wine, and libation varieties. CP also has several vegetarian options. All in all, affordable choices, friendly, prompt service, a unique atmosphere, and unique, interesting ambiance and flavors that will please many palates.

China Poblano is kind of an interesting concept, but being located inside the Cosmo it would be considered perfectly normal lol. This place is yet another Jose Andres creation in which he utilizes his flare and unique spices blending to create a flavor explosion on your palate. I wouldn’t say this is necessarily he best in Jose’s lineup as some of the menu items would be considered average or below… The tacos are pretty decent(al pastor has the best taste) but really tiny in portion, the posole is decent but not great, dim sum is average, ceviche was well below average with a funky taste, the chips & guacamole was delicious and the Mexican gin and tonic was amazing. Overall, this place is worth a shot if you’re looking for something new and different but if you’re looking for large portions and absolutely delicious cuisine, I’d look elsewhere… Pros– Location Service Chips and Guac Mexican gin and tonic Unique concept Nice ambiance and décor Cosmo Identity points Cons– Price per portion ratio not good Average food taste Funky seating Dim sum

I truly have no idea how anyone could rate this place low. Different strokes I guess. But, let me tell you the shrimp mojo is a world class dish. Light, full of flavor, creative and perfectly cooked. The Guac is perfect and balanced. Chips were good and the lamb potstickers were so wild and crazy, you must try them to see. If nothing else you try from this mad wonderful scientist Jose Andres, give the salt air margarita a whirl. So new and fantastic. Service was intelligent and right on. She knew her menu and was on it to recommend all the good stuff. No cheap, but worth it to have my mouth happy for an hour! I’ll be back to try all of his spots.
