«We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.» ~ Winston Churchill ~ This was our second year serving at Gobble Gobble Give, an amazing national movement which brings«potluck» style home-cooked donated food, clothing, and hygiene kits to our neighbors in need on Thanksgiving. It was great to see familiar faces from my Monday #servinghopeLV family both working behind and waiting in the lines; witnessing people of all ages taking time away from their festivities to lend their warm hearts and helping hands. Like last year, Mom and I delivered to-go meals at one of several pre-designated locations after we dropped off our donations at the main staging area. She was thrilled to hear«hey, it’s the ‘Blanket Lady’ from G St» from a few of our regulars; and, we did bring along several of the blankets she crochets to distribute. Some folks dropped off donations and left, others stay to serve and/or clean up, some do it all. Super way to spend a few hours on a holiday which tends to involve excess; grounding to remember how much we do have, and our neighbors who struggle to make ends meet, to find their next meal, or even a place to live/sleep day-to-day. You can find more info on their website or FB pages; I love this group! We definitely have so much to give thanks for, and Gobble Gobble Give is an excellent reminder as the holiday season kicks off. * Website: *
