This bakery has been sitting in my bookmarks tab for the longest time so I knew that I had to try it out once I was given the right moment for it. Me and my friends had just finished lunch one Sunday afternoon when it dawned on one of them that a lunch was not complete without dessert. We came up with random bakeries to go to with no one agreeing to any of the suggestions. Then, I suggested Peridot Sweets, and for some reason, the whole idea became the best plan for the day. For the moment that is. The location for this simple bakery is interestingly out of place. I would have never thought to stop by it had I been directed by Siri herself. Upon arriving, there were little to no cars in the parking lot which was surprisingly eerie for a Sunday afternoon. Regardless, we were giddy about trying this place out. The bakery itself was well kept. It’s beautifully designed with lovely interior that spoke nothing but volumes of sweets and desserts. It was clean and rather inviting. I think if I was by myself, I would’ve ordered a coffee myself and sat on one of the chairs just to ponder. It was just that cute. The service was nothing special. We asked what was the most popular, and she answered with a fairly knowledgeable understanding of each dessert. She seemed a little checked out when we asked a few more questions which was not very impressive. My party got cupcakes, cheesecake bites and another dessert that wasn’t good enough for me remember. I have to say that with all the hype about this place, I did give it a higher standard as I’m a lover of all things delectably sweet. Somehow this place did not seem to impress me one bit. For the price that I’m paying for, these slightly well designed cupcakes aren’t cutting it. The taste just did not bring in the«wow» factor that I thought it would easily deliver. While chewing my cupcake, the only thing, I can think of is whether I was fooling myself on liking such over hyped cupcake or whether I was forcing myself to eat it. I’ve definitely had better/well executed cupcakes than what I had ordered. From my point of view, it tasted like one of those cupcakes that you can easily make from boxed goods. Nothing about the cake tasted rich in texture. Instead it was a bit airy. The cheesecake bites were not impressive either. I think that the cheesecake you could easily get at your local grocery store would challenge the validity of this particular dessert. It wasn’t bland, but it wasn’t sweet enough to be legitimately called a cheesecake.

So we’re back in Vegas to spend and celebrate Christmas here. But before we start our celebration, there’s two important places we must stop by first. That’s of course Archi’s and Peridot Sweets. I have never gone to a dessert place that is as consistent as Peridot Sweets. In all aspects, from the customer experience everyone provides to how wonderful everything tasted. I was blown away how the owner recognizes me by name. The minute I walked in, she acknowledged me by my first name. Ok, that tells you how often I come here. It’s a waste if you live in Las Vegas to not stop by Peridot Sweets. I’m four hours away and I come by quite often. If I live in Las Vegas, I will probably visit them once or twice a week at minimum. I always have to get at least one cupcake in addition to my usual french macarons and my Apple Bar. Today, I tried the Banana Caramel, and it is most definitely the best tasting Banana Caramel cupcake I’ve ever had. Their cupcakes is always so moist, fresh and delicious. With just perfect cream cheese and not so sweet either. Take a bite and felt like I just died and went to heaven. One word YUMMY!
