Not going to lie that this place looks sketchy around Downtown, but the guys here are nice and honest.
From what I’ve eavesdropped on, and how happy the boyfriend is about getting his Ford Mustang’s transmission fixed, I’d definitely want to check this place versus going to a dealership with that kinda problem or an auto chain.
He was having issues, and didn’t want to take it back to Firestone ’cause he had coolant problems that needed to be fixed about 3 times. Well, he went to his trusted brake guy who recommended this establishment. He called and got a hold of Ridgo (owner?), just told him what car it was with about 72,000 miles on it, and… Ridgo was able to describe my boyfriend’s auto problems right off the bat.
Oh yeah… I got the establishment earlier than the boyfriend. Sorry! Didn’t mean to freak you out or anything! Anyway…
Ridgo said he’d call my boyfriend back with a diagnosis and options. True to his word about an hour later, he gave my boyfriend the bad news about having to rebuild the transmission. Straight up told my boyfriend that he could drive it that way until it breaks down within the year. He didn’t try to push my boyfriend to have him fix the car right away, which is much appreciated when stressed about constant car problems lately. The boyfriend liked his honesty and tact so much, he told Ridgo to just fix for him ASAP.
The car was dropped off around 11:30AM on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, and Ridgo had gotten it done by 4PM on Wednesday. The transmission job cost a little less than $ 2000, which the boyfriend said was average according to his research.

Needed to get a complete re-​seal on an older car (1973) and if you have a classic, you know not many people work on them these days. Pro Trans got me in and got me out, did the job right, and I’d suggest them all day! Rico and Frank are the guys to see-​and the price was spot on. Be careful of the big chain places that will tell you that you need a new tranny, or charge a huge fee to fix the one you have. Pro Trans is the real deal.
