I used to come here all the time and get their yellow curry, which was great. But then I moved away and didn’t come back for like 2 years, and recently came back with some friends for the yellow curry and pad thai. The food has deteriorated, even the tea tasted weird. Won’t be back again.

Second time getting food from here. I only tried it again because it’s right behind my house. I asked for medium on my Tom Kha and oddly enough there is ZERO spice and I felt like the soup was lacking an ingredient. The service is wonderful and they are so nice, but the food isn’t that great. I can drive a couple more miles and be more than content with Thai from another spot. I also thought it was strange that I ordered online both times and the lady told me next time I need to call… Then why offer the online service?

Very good food. Love the Tom Kha Soup level 6, Thai Beef Salad, Pineapple Fried Rice, Sweet and Sour Sauce and the Mango Sticky Rice… OMG it’s amazing! Small place but great food.

This place was so good! The atmosphere was so inviting and the staff is so welcoming. I had a great experience and I only did take out so I can only imagine when I dine in which I will be soon. I can’t believe it took me so long to find this little gem and I literally live across the street. This is very authentic Thai food just as good as my grandma makes :)

This is the first time I enjoy Thai foods, I know Thai is very famous with their cuisine but this time is not as my expectation. Foods aren’t fresh and overcooked. Service is ok. I maybe find another spot.

Really nice and attentive staff. I came in for takeout and they even game me a water while i waited for my freshly made meal. The prices are average about $ 13 for a meal, lunch special 7.99 for smaller portions, and appetizers are under $ 10. House wines and beer $ 4. Hot sake $ 5. Spacious place, looks very clean and clutter free without looking too empty. Good food, i cant complain.

I’ve been to Sakun Thai twice and haven’t been disappointed yet. Both times I got the lunch special with the Spicy Chili Mint Chicken for $ 7.99(spicy level 7 — hot!). It came with a soup, an egg roll and a fried won ton. Not bad at all for that price. The restaurant does looks very unassuming from the outside but the inside is clean and welcoming so don’t let that deter you. While not the best I’ve had, it does satisfy the craving and is good if you don’t want to make a longer drive and you’re in the area.

It really makes me sad to give this place a bad review since I actually enjoyed the food. I’m giving it only two stars because of the delivery… So we decided to order delivery at work the other day… We finally got everyone’s order together and called it in. They said it would be 45 minutes. After an hour and we hadn’t received it we called to see what was going on. The lady that answered said the driver left 5 minutes ago. Being that this place is right down the street we didn’t mind. Another 30 minutes later the driver shows up. He brought us free egg rolls for the wait. Confused as to how he knew to bring egg rolls if he had already left«5 minutes ago». But that isn’t the worst part… Didn’t bring us chopsticks… Still not even close to the worst part. Didn’t realize until he left and we were able to unpack everything that one of the curry containers was completely crushed/severed and the contents were all at the bottom of the bag. For real? And our coconut ice cream was completely a melted puddle. Sigh. We called and the lady was extremely nice and asked if we wanted a refund. We didn’t want money… We wanted food. They promptly replaced the mangled items but at this point it has been over two hours and a lot of our work time wasted dealing with it which our boss wasn’t so thrilled about. But the food was actually pretty good. That is why I am sad to leave this review. I’m a panang freak and it was solid! Although a bit light on the protein and veggies the sauce itself was delicious. As was the pad Thai and eggplant salad. Only thing is that I don’t think Thai places believe us when we ask for it hot. We ask for max heat on the panang and it barely made my nose run. Coworker got the Orange chicken and he said it was really dry. Girl that had the curry mishap said her replacement was really good though. We will probably give them another chance though because sometimes the universe is out of alignment and things happen. Because they were so apologetic and the food was pretty good by the time we finally got it they deserve another chance.

My boyfriend and I found this place while driving around and come to find out it is a hidden gem. We don’t live close to it but we will make the drive for it anytime! Food is great, price is right.

The food was delicious and fresh! The space is plain, but neat and clean, and the hostess/waitress was very nice, attentive and timely. We ordered the age tofu, which was crispy and the dipping sauce was spicy and delish! My husband ordered a tofu curry, and the waitress was nice enough to notice and inquire about the fact that he did not eat the bell peppers in the curry; she happily informed him that next time he orders he can tell them to make it without the peppers and they would be happy to do it for him. I wanted a comfort food, so I ordered a simple Thai fried rice, which was exactly what I needed; it was terrific. All in all it’s a great, reliable local spot, and I look forward to coming back again!

I placed on order on the phone and was told it would be about 30 minutes. I arrived after 40 minutes and ended up waiting another 25. I stood at the register awkwardly for 3 or 4 minutes with employees looking but no one acknowledging me before she finally told me they hadn’t even started on half of my food. My Panang Curry was pretty good but my friend’s pork dish was very tiny and he said it was pretty bad. My friend got food from there last night and it took forever again. Our yellow curry was really tasty but he said he wouldn’t go back because the packaging was so bad that it spilled everywhere and made a huge mess.

This is a great place when you want Thai without crossing town. It’s nothing amazing but it’s still decent grub! They deliver quickly and the service is hit or miss. I much prefer them to Ping Pong since it’s not the type of restaurant to impress a date(hehe) and the prices are fair for the quantity of food you receive. Their lad nar and fried rice(hubby orders it anywhere it’s on the menu) are not too great. Their soups on the other hand are great for a cold!

Very friendly, but food is just OK. And they spilled water all over me by accident. I had the beef and beef ball noodle soup. It was a bit too sweet for my taste. The deep fried shrimp roll was also just ok and could have been frozen vs made fresh.

I was really hoping for good things with this little hole in the wall Thai restaurant, but I have to say that it fell short. It fell real short. I ordered the Crab Rangoon(my go to white guy Thai dish) and the Lad Nah(Lard Nah) with pork and Chinese Broccoli. The Crab Rangoon wasn’t bad, but with imitation crab it also wasn’t inspiring. The wonton wrapping was well prepared, but the filling just didn’t have much going on. The sweet and sour sauce was light and nicely jammy. The Lad Nah was disappointing. The noodles were cooked unevenly, with most of them being undercooked. I couldn’t eat most of them. The pork wasn’t bad, a little on the chewy side, but not bad. The thinly sliced Chinese broccoli was nice enough. The gravy had a light sweetness to it, something that I’m not used to in Lad Nah and something that didn’t really help the dish. It just wasn’t very good. The service was really friendly, but unfortunately the food really fell short at this place. I’ll seek Thai food elsewhere when I find myself in this neighborhood.

WORTHTHETRY I didn’t realize that they were closed on Sundays. What lured me to try again were my Unilocal friends delightful experiences and their most appetizing photos. On a Monday we dropped by for lunch. The temptation was to try their dinner entrees. But the lunch combos of less than $ 7 and variety along with soup, fried egg roll plus wonton was too good to pass up. While waiting I couldn’t help but notice and admire the elephant table lamp. Essentially the restaurant was void of anything suggesting it was Thai except for the two waitresses and the menu. Hot and sour soup is just a small cup that’s partially filled enough to suggest beginnings of a spicy experience to come. Not soon after an oval medium sized plate of our lunch special arrives both witth the same presentation and portions. I had asked spiciness three of ten. While Yu-go requested four of ten. Turns out my curry chicken was perfectly seasoned. And Yu-go didn’t need to doctor up his mint chili chicken. He normally adds more heat from the spice tray. We both agreed the meals were most tasty and satisfying. Lunch specials are well suited and priced for the ladies. Didn’t have to ask twice for Yu-go to help finish my lunch plate. There’s a strong chance that we’ll return for dinner.

I am trying to broaden my Thai food horizons as my normal stop(Siri Thai) has become awful at answering the phone. This place is somewhat near me and had decent reviews, so I tried it out for a weekend to-go lunch. I ordered the tofu pad Thai spicy 3(their scale is 1 – 10) over the phone and the lady said, «It will be ready in 5 minutes.» Eep! I had to throw on some pants and leave because the drive is a little bit longer than that. Certainly not the worst problem in the world, though. The location is easy-to-find and I parked right in the front. The restaurant itself is nice and spacious, clean and overall a nice atmosphere. I saw my order was right on the counter, so I paid with the friendly lady and left. The tofu is certainly superior to Siri Thai but I think it’s still lacking a little bit of that tofu texture that I personally enjoy. The pad Thai was lacking peanuts but the overall flavor was good and the heat was there but certainly not overwhelming — exactly what I wanted. There was a bit of a citrus flavor that I simply don’t like with my pad Thai, but it was much more subtle than other places I’ve tried. Also, they were generous with egg and green onion which I love! While I have not found my new pad Thai spot(damn you, Siri Thai), I think I have found a new place to put into my pickup régime. The pictures of pad see ew look delicious and I still need to try their Thai tea as I feel that’s necessary at ANY Thai place. -:3

Thai food is one of my favorite cuisines. And whenever possible, I try to find a good one wherever I go. I have to say, my wife found this place. She told me it had four stars and a lot of reviews, I was sold. Here’s the rundown. Tom Yum Shrimp — it was a super cold day again, so a hot soup was the perfect remedy for that. Love this soup. I was craving the sourness from the lemongrass flavored soup. The mushrooms & shrimp were very good. But what set this Tom Yum from the others I’ve had was the cherry tomato. Never had that in this soup before and it worked so well. The pop in your mouth was a flavor explosion, delicious. Satay Chicken — it was just okay. It was lacking in flavor IMO. Even with the satay sauce. The cucumber salad it came with was outstanding. Lemon Chicken — I never had lemon chicken at a Thai place before. Usually I find this dish at a Chinese restaurant. But I have to say, I am a fan of this dish. The lemon flavor really stands up to the deep fried battered chicken the sauce was in. Panang Pork — I usually get Panang beef. Having pork even though it was very good. I still prefer the beef. The panang curry was outstanding. Pineapple Fried Rice — it was good. Chunks of pineapple and cashew nut pieces all over the dish. As for the flavor, it was just ok for me. Pad See Ew — my wife’s favorite Thai noodle dish. It’s a good dish, but it didn’t have the burnt wok(in a good way) taste we are accustomed to at our regular Thai spot. Still very good. I love spicy food, but on this trip we have a bunch of kids so the heat index was dialed down quite a bit. The pickled serrano chilies help a lot. You can request it and they have them in tiny cups to go. This was a solid Thai restaurant. I’m rating this a 3.5 Stars and rounding up. I’ll definitely be back.
