great park! we go to the dog park area everyday, relatively clean for the most part. two bad things are, there’s no lights at night & the road to get back there is not paved at all so you’re basically driving in the dirt road.

On the right day this place can be peaceful, serene and simply enjoyable. My experience is only with the dog park side. It is very nice and the location is relaxing during good weather. The regulars are very friendly and social, however there can be your usual«know-it-alls» or the ones that think they own a small kitten as opposed to a dog. like, loosen up a bit. you stepped foot into a DOG park. Besides that, it’s in a great location, we only wish there were light stems like they have on the baseball field so we can stay later in the evening. Also, beware of the Tweens who like to cozy up on the playground sets in the park. gross.

I am so glad I stumbled upon this hidden park! It’s very far up in the North East corner of town. It seems to be a popular spot for softball because every weekend night lately there are games going on. There are 3 softball fields that are lit up at night for night games. There is also a volleyball pit, and lots of picnic tables with grills. There are a few different playgrounds In different areas. Also there are plenty of water fountains that actually work. This park has beautiful and unique views of the valley, as well as many trees for shade. The best part(for me and Ozzy) are the large grassy dog areas! They are the biggest I’ve seen here in Vegas. But I do hear Sunset park has nice ones too. Anyways there are 2 seperate ones, 1 for small dogs one for large, and they doggie waste bags are always stocked. There are 2 covered benches in each dog area so you can chill while your dog explores. I guess it’s called Shadow Rock because there are a lot of huge rocks throughout the park, and theres a gravelly rock area in the back that’s good for exploring too. It seems this park is well maintained. Me and Ozzy plan on coming here often :)

This park is located in the far northeast park of the Valley on Sunrise Mountain just southeast of Nellis Air Force Base. Because of its location it has wonderful views of the valley and is also a great place to watch the planes from Nellis. It can frequently be windy because of it’s location. There are baseball fields here but honestly I have never gone to look at them so can’t review. There are three playground areas, the first two are located on the south end of the park, which you see first when arriving. These are older playground areas and not that well maintained. They are good for smaller children. If you continue north and turn into the 2nd entrance there is a very nice newer playground area that is up a small hill. The newer north play area has a toddler play structure and a larger structure for older kids that also includes a climbing wall. It is covered in the absorbent flooring, rather than sand which is nice. In addition to the play area there are covered picnic table areas that work well for parties although you have to get there early to hold your spot. We love to play at this park and it is generally not that busy, especially the older play areas. There is plenty of grass for picnics too which can be rare to find in Vegas. We did hold my son’s birthday there in 2012 when I didn’t realize how busy the baseball fields were on some weekends! There was a tournament that day and it was a madhouse. Additionally the teams were warming up on a large grassy area between the fields and the play area and there were flying balls that hit myself and other children. it was awful! The coaches were completely irresponsible by trying to do batting practice so close to other children. But as long as you avoid it during a tournament I highly recommend the park. There is a bathroom but it is located by the fields and away from the play area so it is a pain to use if you are there for the playground rather than the fields.

Decent quad for softball. Great dugouts with covers for shade. Good lighting. Spectacular views. Good concessions. Parking is a bit of a chore here.
