I visited Shoe Obsession in Las Vegas about a week and a half ago. Staying at Mandalay Bay there wasn’t a store I did not go into! I found the most adorable wedges(after months of searching for a particular style) and was able to buy similar ones for my mother and sister. I definitely plan on popping into this store next time I am in Vegas!

I was drawn into this shop by an original and gorgeous pair of heals in the window. I was observing the sign that forbid touching the shoes in the window and just looking when an incredibly rude sales lady rushed over. She demonstrated why the shoes are no touch by shaking the loose shelf. She then proceeded to show me the touchable shoes. Another customer was handling them at the time so I waited patiently as I was not in a rush. The sales lady ripped the shoe I was interested in out of the other customers hands and passed it to me. When I apologized to the other customer the sales lady ignored her and insisted to me that the other customer would not be buying anyway as she was the wrong size to fit what the store had in stock. I then carefully attempted to fit the shoe onto my foot. When it did not fit I inquired about other sizes. After being informed that there where none I again attempted to delicately work the shoe onto my foot as it was a ridged design and I was hoping to find a trick to the proper fit. I really wanted to give the store and the sales lady who presumably works on commission my $ 380. Unfortunately when I tried the second time the sales lady snapped at and admonished me for damaging the shoes. Unfortunately it appears this store supports this rude staff member and has since at least 2007 when the previous review was published. From now on I will know better and go elsewhere.

* White satin stiletto sandals with horsehair and Swarovski crystal straps * Pink suede with red and purple zebra stripes and a glossy red stiletto heel * Apple green leather strappy sandals with sunshine yellow leather piping * Gold leather with a 5 inch woven wicker covered wedge heel * Leopard print pointy toe stiletto sling backs * Tobacco alligator embossed leather loafers with a 5 inch heel * Deep blue patent leather sling backs with a peep toe * Etcetera * Etcetera * ETCETERA times 50(give or take — honestly, who’s counting?) Yes, I am shoe obsessed. So much so, that while in Vegas I made a point of cruising by Shoe Obsession in Mandalay Place to check out their offerings. I was disappointed. Not because of the shoes: While most were not my style(mostly 1 to 2 inch wedge heeled sandals with VERY practical ankle straps), I did find two pairs of sandals that I found to be SUPERCUTE. Not because of the prices: One pair that I was interested was $ 88. This is not the most nor the least I’ve ever paid for a cute pair of shoes. It’s a fairly normal retail price, although a bit high for the quality of shoe they had on offer. However, factoring in the V.I. price(Vegas Inflation), it was about what I was expecting, maybe even a bit less. Not because of the store: Sleek, brightly lit and full of plenty of seating to try on shoes, the interior was laid out EXACTLY as I would have chosen to lay it out — with one exception. Instead of using the ENTIRE space for shoes — by that I mean all available shelf space — they use only ¾ of the shelves. The other shelves, the ones along the windows facing outward into Mandalay Place, are ONLY for DISPLAY. I know this because I made the GREVIOUSERROR of TOUCHING the SUPERCUTE shoes I was interested in, BUT I touched the WRONGPAIR. The pair I touched were in the window shelves. The shoes I was apparently ALLOWED to touch were on the other shelves. Thank you, cold-eyed, terse-voiced, cranky-faced saleslady for pointing that out to me from the FARENDOFTHESTORE. As a gaggle of ladies who do find 1 to 2 inch wedge heeled sandals with VERY practical ankle straps to be their style were blocking ANY access to the SUPERCUTE shoes, I did NOT indulge in my shoe obsession at Shoe Obsession.
