Finally, after years of driving past, I got to try Sonio’s. Even better, after 20 years, a really excellent Italian Beef! If I had realized that they had this, I would have been here years ago. I got the Italian beef sandwich, wet w/cheese and peppers and gardiniere. It came with fries and extra jus, which I promptly forgot once I bit into that heavenly sandwich. It was perfection! It was also ridiculously enormous, I couldn’t even eat half. Hubby did better with his Italian Beef/Sausage combo sandwich, and it was even bigger. I had a taste of the sausage, it was quite good. Considering the portion sizes, I think a $ 2 split/share fee is out of line, but that didn’t come into play today. Service was great, incredibly warm and friendly. We will definitely be back, and soon, but I think I’ll order to go if I want to share my meal with another.

Man. I hate to do this review as I’ve been here so many times. And everyone is so nice. I got a greek salad for takeout. Big mistake. Salad came in a ziplock bag with container around it. It wasn’t mixed at all. I couldn’t get it in container without spilling it all over my desk and floor. The salad was not fresh. The tomatoes were rancid. Soggy and not ripe. I threw out 11 dollars and ate froZEN dinner for lunch.

I have been here to lunch twice during a workday. The service is excellent and fast. The food quality is great. I had the rotisserie ¼ chicken with fries and a side salad. Very tasty and moist chicken! My friend had the lasagna which was good and looked homemade. Thank you! It’s good to support a local small business. There are fewer and fewer out there.

First time here and the service was horrible. The waiter started off by shouting everything they were out of. My friend asked him what they did have and he started rattling off another list. I do not recommend this place.

Six of us while on vacation in Vegas, wanted a local meal, not a chain and found Sonio’s on Unilocal. Our meals were to die for good! This is a hidden gem and not to be missed. Great service too. We will be back on our next trip.

Pretty darn good food! The rotisserie chicken was a perfectly crisp, flavorful experience on the outside, with a juicy, slides-off-the-bone tenderness on the inside! The pastas were acceptably scrumptious accompaniments, and the lemonade had a freshness to its sweet flavor. I was also frankly impressed with the warm, friendly reception I received as a first time patron, which has guaranteed my return. Word of advice to the owners though: go for the gusto and do homemade biscuits; the tortilla was just meh. You’ve clearly got the talent in the kitchen, and a fresh Southern biscuit would be the perfect accoutrement to my meal. I’ll be back!

I’ve been coming to Sonio’s since 2004. Why? 1) The food is consistently good. Sonio’s has a varied menu of offerings. Their most famous(and longest running) item would be the rotisserie chicken. They also have Mexican food ranging from chicken tacos, enchiladas or their 2 pound burrito that is the size of some people’s shoes. Speaking of gigantic, check out the salads. They don’t skimp on the ingredients and the salads are served in wooden bowls large enough for punch. There are newer things on the menu ranging from sausage sandwiches, stuffed bell peppers or lasagna(Mama Mia!). Needless to say, unless you have a tape worm or are a competitive eater, you should be full with whatever you order. The portions are generous on most dishes! Vegetarian? No problem. They have many things to cater to you. Looking for Paleo or Low Carb options? They have that too! For the amount of food and the variety of people they cater to, the prices are more than fair. 2) The service is excellent. This is a family run business and if you become a regular there, the staff will remember your name. It’s such a great feeling when I’m walking in and Lily or Yiorgo will greet me by my name. Uncle Teddy can usually be seen hanging out in his booth and he’s always asking me, «How’s your boyfriend? You tell ‘im I said hi.» or «How’ve you been? Good to see you!» Matt will constantly check on my table to make sure the drinks are always full. These interactions don’t make me feel like just another customer, but rather like a VIP or part of the family. Every single time, the quality of service from this team shines and I always leave feeling full from the food and fulfilled from the hospitality. These two reasons are why I keep coming to Sonio’s and why I will continue to give them my business. It’s rare to find a local homegrown place where you get that kind of experience with a good fresh meal to boot. These are the kinds of businesses that Vegas need to support. If you’re in the area and looking for a laid back local lunch spot, I encourage you to give Sonio’s a try. Oh, and tell the crew I said, «Hi.» ;)

Not impressed at all. Worst service I’ve ever had. Amigo passed us 3 times as we waved him down to take our order. Don’t quit your day job… Never again. Food wasn’t any different then any other dine-in environment. Just completely disappointed.

I love this place. The service is amazingly fast, the staff is super nice, they simply want you to have a good meal and enjoy yourself. I would go back here day after day. I got the salad with chicken, it is so amazingly large that I will have dinner and breakfast from the lunch size. The chicken is moist and plentiful, the olives just the right amount of salty and the lettuce was fresh and crisp. I felt incredibly appreciated, was able to get help with any questions that I had, and the atmosphere seems like everyone was having a really good time

Just visiting… looking for a decent place to feed the fam, away from the touristy area. About quarter to 12, the place is packed and a line has formed outside. Service is fast! The BIG bell announces when food is ready. The owner works behind the counter(makes awesome salads!), greets even the youngest customer. Definitely has rapport with locals, repeat customers and visitors like us. But what about the food?!? Sonio’s has great rotisserie chicken(known for), big gorgeous salads, so-so with the American food fare(Chicago dogs– teenager review) and generous with their burritos(no kidding). The Spanish rice and crinkle cut fries were typical. But the chicken — definitely yuuummmy! Reason for the 3 stars? They charge you a fee for splitting a meal which in my view was an extra paper plate. When I asked, they said it was on the menu… don’t recall seeing it. So come for the awesome food, the cool owner, the vibe of the place but beware of fees!

I have never had a bad meal… love this place! Owner is so nice… they make great food. My favs are Mexican Caesar salad and chicken enchiladas. They are close to my work so I pick up or dine in. Staff is friendly and it’s clean. They make a good mint lemonade too. I have been here over 20 times and still haven’t tried it all… Hint: only open for lunch.

I’ve driven by Sonio’s a million times. I’ve heard people talk about it being their go-to lunch spot. Well, I recently decided to stop. I don’t know if it’s because I ordered the wrong thing or that I because I’ve become conscientious of what I’m eating, but it was just okay. It was great and it wasn’t bad. It’s right in there with Applebees. I ordered the Not Your Typical Cobb. It is labeled as having veggies, chicken, feta, and croutons. I ordered it without the croutons and have the cheese. The salad arrived and it was huge! However, the salad came riddled with tiny pieces of macaroni and veggies included: green peppers, tomatoes, and shredded carrots. This doesn’t account for veggies for me. The salad was very meh. Nothing special and nothing I couldn’t have made at home. My counterpart ordered the Italian beef combo which is a huge sausage(that’s what she said) with Chicago style beef. It was well received. I ordered my grandma a to-go lasagna and she’s picky, she loved it. The place is very casual. Booths. Tables. Cute kitsch. It feels like a diner, but has a hole-in-the-wall, mom and pop-feel to it. Our waitress was kind, attentive, and prompt. Prices were affordable. Menu items are hit or miss. I definitely will give it another go and be sure to ask more questions in the future!

Three and a half stars, rounding up for good service. Drove past this place repeatedly, but when I wanted to give them a try they were closed: only open M-Thurs til 5:30PM, and on Fridays til 4PM. Limited hours unless you work nearby. Interior reminds me of an old school mexican restaurant. Stopped by for an early dinner, love that they have a menu of 3PM-close specials. Ordered the lunch portion of salad with chicken(spicy mexican caesar) and the chicago beef(hot and sweet peppers), upgrade fries to Greek style. Used Unilocal check-in discount for 10% off, total was under $ 15 including tip. Not bad for two meals! Cashier was genuinely friendly, packed up order perfectly, and wished me a good day on my way out the door– unusual to see someone so perky so close to close after a long day of working that type of position! Salad was fresh and delish– packed in an ingenious way, with ingredients in a ziplock to add your dressing(packed separately) and toss, then serve in your to-go box. So smart! Downside is that they gave me the wrong dressing(regular caesar instead of spicy) and I found a few small bones, but it was still damn delicious. Just wish I had some hard boiled eggs at home to add in. The chicago beef? It was so good, I barely got a bite before my BF made it disappear in under 5 minutes. You know it’s good when that happens! The au jus is one of the best I’ve had, the bread was clearly fresh, and the meat was moist and plentiful. Peppers were tasty, too! It’s so close by and so well-priced with the specials, that I know I’ll be coming back for another salad soon. And yes, probably a chicago beef for my guy.

Wow I can’t believe I’ve never written a review for this place! Been coming here for years ever since I moved to Vegas and my co-workers took me here on my first day. Sonio’s serves a variety of foods including rotissierie chicken, salads in ginormous bowls, 2 lb burritos and Chicago style Italian beef and sausage. Uncle Teddy, the owner, is originally from Chicago and if you’re lucky he’ll stop by your table to chat. They are only open from 11 am to 5:30 pm on weekdays mainly to serve the downtown business lunch crowd, and the staff here seems to remember all their regulars which is impressive. It can get busy here during the 11 am to 1 pm lunch hours but they move quick and there’s never too long a wait before a table clears up. I typically like to get the Chinese chicken salad, Chicago style hot dogs, Italian sausage or a combo sandwich. The Chinese chicken salad comes w/the shredded rotissierie chicken that they roast daily, mandarin oranges and a light vinagrette dressing among other things and is overall a refreshing and filling salad especially with the portions they give here. Their Chicago style foods like the Italian beef/sausage/combo sandwich tastes even better with a side of giardiniera or G as they call it here, although it does cost a little extra. They sometimes will have a special item that they made just for that day which is nice if you want something different. Some of the specials I’ve seen are lasagna or meatball subs. I’ve recommended this place to several friends who are not Unilocalers but all of them now love this place. It’s conveniently located if you work in the area and serve up great food that is made to order and comes out fast and fresh.

We were greeted as soon as we entered the door. This is one of those family owned businesses that cares about the quality of their food and service. It seems like every customer that came in here was known by the staff. The food comes out in large portions so you want walk away disappointed. The quality that goes into a meal here is like a forgotten art form or something. It tasted like a home cooked meal and not a rushed restaurant lunch special. The chicken caesar wrap was awesome and the pasta salad was better then most other places. Ill be back again for sure.
