Fun for ALLAGES!!! Wear, literally, WHATEVER you want. Anything goes! The music is jammin and the colors are slammin! Run, walk, skip or hop to the finish line, or should I say Party Pit? The goody bag provides fun things like temporary tattoos, glitter powder, sweat head band, T-shirt, post it notes, Tide color catcher, etc. The price to participate in the race, I feel, is justified just on hiring the clean up crew for this mess alone. There are balloon arches to run through, live music, tents with extra items to purchase, you name it. It was very well thought out and you left with a medal around your neck and a smile on your face! I’ll be back next year, Fo-Sho!

I participated in the 2014 Color Run and declined to do the 2015 run because the price was ridic. Even on Livingsocial and Groupon, the going rate was $ 45! The 2014 packet included a t-shirt, temporary tattoo, sweatband, bag, and a packet of color to use as you saw fit. BTW it was a lot cheaper last year($ 25). The course was held in Downtown Fremont and drew a huge amount of people. They had to release runners in waves every 5 minutes or so. Needless to day, I didn’t start the race on time because I was stuck among the crowds for 20+ minutes. There were points during the race where volunteers powdered you with color. The color is basically dyed cornstarch, so it’s safe, although you’re likely to have colorful boogers for the next few days! Color Runs have become massively popular in the 5k fun run arena. Yes, they’re pretty fun but after doing 5+ different variations on Color Runs they start to get a little old. PROTIP: This a run for casual runners. Also, tutus are a hit here. This is «the happiest 5K on the planet»! Run or walk with your friends and family in a party atmosphere with color powder being tossed at you for every kilometer you complete. Makes for some crazy photos and a fun, non-competitive take on a charity run. Packet pickup the day before went smoothly, TCR is pretty well established and has everything down to a well organized system of procedures. Check-in ticket was emailed the day before, printed or scanned from phones, and you got what you needed without hassle. Day-of was also pretty smooth. Start line had zumba, stretching, and tons of bubble machines going. Race itself started on time, and the finish line had some business booths and food trucks available. Unlike most races, people were easily able to walk up and register, and instead of promptly starting at 8AM it seemed like you could walk up and join the event for a couple of hours. Though they emphasize fun instead of competition, I do wish they would add a timing device(or the option for one) to our number bibs for those who are interested in their pacing.
