This is definitely a dive bar. And not the kind of dive bar that you want to go to. The clientele were some of the seediest, dirtiest, drunkest people I have ever seen. There was no decorum to be found. Between the bartender’s «vagina» tshirt and the tacky dollar bills tapped to every available surface, it is safe to say that this place is seriously lacking in charm. I wish I could support this local business but as a young female I felt very unsafe, uncomfortable, and am not likely to ever return.

Average. Oh and it’s NOT a brewpub, it’s a dive bar. I love dive bars and this one is pretty great but by no means is it a brewery or brewpub or «draft house». You can get some decent beers in there but the selection is small and they aren’t all local. It’s the only decent place in town so if you want a beer with a local vibe definitely check it out.

A taproom for beers brewed right in Las Vegas, New Mexico, that alone earns it four stars and the«Yay! I’m a fan» status. It’s a small setting, maybe four booths and 5 – 6 places at the bar, but it has an old west saloon feel blended with lots of beeraphernalia. Think intimate. But hell, that’s a good thing. The owner is a native Las Vegan and an all-around good guy and a believer in good beer, so that helps things out. The beers here are a work in progress but I see plenty of potential. The kolsch and IPA I had both were unfiltered in a way that almost made them unappealing, something the owner acknowledged as a temporary hiccup, but the flavors were decent and good respectively. Neither beer was particularly ambitious or aggressive, but certainly good enough for any regular. For me, the standout beer was the Oatmeal Stout served nitro, which gave the beer an exceptional creaminess and thickness that suits an oatmeal stout well. The beer had chocolate notes that gave it a semisweet flavor. I will return whenever in town to grab a brew and see how the brews — which are brewed under the name New Mexico Craft Brewing Company, I should have mentioned that — improve over time. Plus, it’s great to support out local brewers and local establishments in general. Show some love, grab a beer here.
