Tropical Smoothie Cafe

This was a hard place to rate. When they are good, they are indeed good. But when they are bad, boy are they bad. I always ask for no tomatoes in my wrap and around 25% off the time, they add it. I also think that maybe they don’t think that people notice when they don’t substitute the fruit like we ask, but most of us do. Honestly if they were consistant with making the orders correctly, this could be the #1 place on my list of places to grab lunch.

20 minutes in a drive thru is ridiculous. Every damn time. The service needs to improve or this place won’t make it.

Horrible service… I love tropical smoothie that’s why I keep giving this location a chance, but that was the last time… I waited 25 minutes for a smoothie with only 2 cars in front of me… I had to drive away and ended up being late for work without having breakfast… Not the first time it happens… They need to hire more people or hire qualified people…

Every time we come here there is always a long wait in the drive thru. We keep going through the drive thru because it’s convenient for me with two kids. I am here now and ordered one drink and been waiting for more than 20 mins!!!

Slowest service ever. At any time of day, be prepared for at least a 20 minute wait. This is the closest location and have a convenient drive through. The quality is at least consistent so far. I’ve been boxed in the drive through several times for the longest being 45 minutes.

Why does the girl working the drive thru hate her life? Not even a smile or a thank you! The smoothie was ok but for $ 5 and a 10 min wait id rather find a different location.

This is the worst Tropical Smoothie in town. Youd think that the smoothie you get is amazing considering having to wait 30 minutes in line with one car in front of you. The service here is super slow so prepare to park your car in drive through. It’s worse than rush hour traffic in LA. Lol I’ve been here a few times because it’s close to my house and the slow service never fails, no matter what time of the day it is. Smoothies here aren’t as good as the other stores. Really needs new management.

Omg this place is horrible. It’s my fault I keep going back, hoping it will be better but it never is. I bought 2 smoothies and 2 breakfast wraps for my boyfriend and I this morning. The smoothies have no flavor and both wraps were cold. Not as in, cooled down from the 5 minute drive, it was like they were never warm to begin with. Horrible! This time I only waited about 10 minutes, which isn’t bad considering it’s usually a 30 minute commitment to get a smoothie from this location. I suppose I should be happy I could at least eat this round of food, my last trip I ordered a wrap with veggie chicken and they put real chicken in it. All you non-​meat eaters feel my pain on this one. I love tropical smoothie, but I am done with this location. Do better!

By far the worst Tropical Smoothie I’ve ever been to. I keep giving them a chance but never again. This is the THIRD time this location messed up my order.
For waiting that long I expect to have WARM food and the RIGHT smoothie.

This particular tropical smoothie is sapposed to deliver but I’ve called ten times and they’re not answering the phone and they even had the nerve to pick up and hang up on me twice!
Also every time I come here which is sadly quite often because they are the closest one to my house they are so damn slow and the quality of whatever I get whether it be a wrap or a smoothie ain’t shit! Tropical smoothie you are better than this and need to get some new management in there or something to regulate all this bs and hire some better employees because these high school students are fuckin up the image… your money… and my shit.

Every dang time I go to this location the smoothies never fail… To taste like it’s watered down and rushed. It’s like they purposely do it. We go to the drive-​thru so it’s quick and easy… But it gets really inconvenient when we constantly have to drive back and have them re-​do our order. Annoying actually.
I would actually recommend going to a different location. Trust me, it’s worth the drive. It’ll save you a trip back to the blue diamond establishment and have them remake it. Ugh! Train your employees right!!!

I was reminded today why I avoid this location at all costs. I’m typically a fan of Tropical Smoothies, but for some reason this location always disappoints. The staff always seems overwhelmed, even when I’m the only customer there. The quality is inconsistent at best. Service at the drive through is usually poor and rushed (I know it’s fast food but it boggles my mind why more drive thru businesses don’t put a focus on service quality at the speaker. It’s the face of your business!!).
Today was the final time I’ll visit. I was temporarily commuting down Blue Diamond this month and pulled in to get my daughter and me smoothies and wraps. I had been avoiding this location but I gave them a try again. Despite being slow, everything came out ok so we had dropped in a few more times. Today, my smoothie (Island Green) was completely disgusting. The wraps were not cooked at all. If I wasn’t heading to work, I would have gone back and demanded a refund.
This location is so well placed and Tropical Smoothie has a good product … it’s a shame that this location can’t get their sh*t together.

I found plenty of shredded labels that supposed to be removed from the fruits or vegetables. Instead it got shredded into my smoothies. That’s what I found in my supposed to be healthy smoothies, but dirty! Not acceptable at all.

Would have been fine with the wait however three people that ordered after me got their order before mine. Not only that but my drink didn’t even turn out right. I ordered Detox Island Green and it was poorly made. It’s watered down and you can’t even taste anything. I even gave a a tip because I noticed the lines were long on the drive thru.

I live right by this location & it’s the only somewhat healthy fast food place in the area, so I end up going ALL the time (2x week) even though the service is atrocious & they screw up my order half the time. It took me so long to post a review because I kept hoping they’d improve, but nope. They’re absurdly slow even there’s only 1 other customer (I actually think they’re slower when they’re not busy, even with the same number of employees).
But the worst thing about this location BY FAR is the large number of employees standing & lounging around doing nothing except being loud & obnoxious. I don’t know if it’s a training center or what, but I’m not exaggerating when I say there are typically at least 5 employees sitting at the tables and/​or standing by the counter chatting & doing nothing IN ADDITION to the regular employees who are actually working. And the trainees aren’t polite, they gossip loudly, stand in the customers’ way, or talk to the working employee so everything is slowed down at an already snail-​paced establishment. And every few weeks, a fresh batch of random trainees show up.
I’m usually not this harsh on businesses but COME ON, get your act together. I hate that I spend money there, but my only other options are places like Jack in the Box & McD’s (which I love, but my weight doesn’t).

Bottom Line™
Reliable, consistent, and tasty: what more can one ask for in the morning when one needs some cheap, quick calories? Recommended as the TSC with the best service in the valley.

After numerous stops here for lunch and dinner, it’s always a hit or miss. First off this location has a drive-​thru, both a plus and a curse. I’ve had times where I’ve been in and out of the drive-​thru within a few minutes. Other times, I’ve waited almost 15 minutes. Not cool when I’m trying to make it to work on time. I always order the same smoothie, the Peanut Paradise with soy. It tastes the same every time, rich and delicious. The food however is another story. Again, I’m a creature of habit and order the pesto chicken flatbread or the chipotle chicken flatbread. Some days I’ll have a ton of sauce and chicken. Other days it’ll be dry with burnt pieces of chicken. So whoever is making the flatbreads with a lot of sauce and good pieces of chicken needs to be scheduled more often. This location seems to have consistency issues with their food, but overall, they’re a-​ok for me.

Eh… I don’t really know why I keep coming back here. No one that I know ever wants to come here and everything about this place is so mediocre. Since my time is limited, I probably won’t be coming here anymore.
The food is just so-​so. They have different items coming out from time to time. Although they are tasty, the portions are always very small and I never feel satisfied. Not a very good value for your buck. Also, I really question how healthy the food actually is here, even though they seem to tout themselves as a healthy eating choice. You don’t take in a lot of calories because the portions are so small, not because it’s healthy.
The staff also seem to be untrained and at times borderline unprofessional. Sometimes you have to wait a while for someone to help you even though there appears to be an employee standing right behind the register. Also, sometimes I see employees just sprawled out taking a nap (presumably during their breaks) on the seats where customers sit. It just looks bad when you do this. I don’t want to eat next to a sleeping employee.
It’s just not worth it here for me. I’d almost rather go to McDonald’s. And everyone knows how much I despise McDonald’s.
