UYE – Hot and Juicy in Henderson!

Saw that this place had recently opened so after my last final, a large group of us came and checked it out. LOVED it. In fact, I already told my in-​laws about it (who are french-​creole) and we will be taking them here in 2 weeks.
It’s got plenty of seating, and was accommodating for large groups (we were 15 people), and the service is friendly and quick. Plus there are tv’s all around with the games playing so no neck straining (bonus) to watch it.
I got 1lb of shrimp, market price 12.99. added a potato and corn 60 cents each, and made it the hot and juicy flavoring at spicy heat. (If your a pansy like me, they have gloves to keep your hands from getting too messy)
My only gripe is their BEER menu is SERIOUSLY lacking. but, I got over it and just ordered a blue moon. 4 bucks.
Also, I really liked that the manager came by to check on us. Turns out she’s a grad student too, so it was fun to chat about it.
in sum: good people, good food.

Thank you for putting together a great group and organizing this Teri! And hey, before their official grand opening as well ;) It was nice having a chat with the Assistant Manager beforehand who was more than sweet and looked forward to having us there! (nice group) lol!
We were seated before our entire party was there which I was grateful for because it was coooold next to the door. I sat next to Michael K. and across from Norm K., who I finally got to meet! That night, me and Salim ordered oysters, 1 ½ lb. shrimp combined with the mild/​medium Hot & Juicy Special, and sweet potato fries. Our shrimps were overcooked but that was easily overlooked by dipping it in the lemon salt and pepper concoction along with another dip in the H&J Special sauce. Yum! Michael was the entertainment that night when he tried their extra spicy sauce and I swear I felt the heat off of him! Lol. I saw Shirley B, Terri R, and Mel C as well!
Twas a great night and I also finally got to meet Tracy P. and her hubs :)

Thanks Teri W. for putting together this event! I don’t think that I would have ever made it here otherwise. The food was pretty good! The company was great! It’s so much fun to get together with other Unilocalers!
Shrimp of all different spice levels — no spice to the extra hot & spicy — by the ½ pound to as many pounds as you would like! Crab legs and Oysters were also had tonight. If you like something fried, chicken nuggets and french fries, calamari and corn frites (balls) that’s available too!
I finally met Khatherine T., Salim and Norm
it was great to see them! Teri W. Shirley B., Terri R. Mel C and Michael K were also there! So good to see everyone!
Part two of the UYE was a trip to Gimme Some Sugar. The place was cute! We were able to sit at the family table. Great looking cakes and the treats were yummy!

Thank you to everyone who was able to attend my UYE.
I was really nervous, since I’ve never had the pleasure of dining at Hot and Juicy. But Shirley B is a pro and the servers were awesome at helping us order and telling us the low down on the food.
We started with calamari and corn fritters (both good), then I ordered 1lb of shrimp, with the Hot and Juicy special sauce (Medium). It took a little while to get the hang of peeling the shrimp, which isn’t good when you are starving! :)
I also had 2 potatoes and 1 corn, in addition to cajun fries. The fries may have been my favorite item of the night — they were tasty!
It was a wonderful Saturday night, spent with awesome friends and a couple of new faces. Hope to see everyone soon — cookie exchange?!

Of course, I’m giving this UYE 5 Stars. Teri W. got a few of us Unilocalers together on a Saturday night. We got messy, we got stuffed, and you know what, we had a great time.

Glad Teri W. set up an UYE here. Since I have a food allergy to shellfish and was just treated from an allergic reaction Im supposed to avoid having shellfish. So it gave me a good excuse to come down here.

Hot Stuff Award — Michael K. for being able to eat their spiciest hot seasoning. Eyes tearing up, sweating and all. Crazy dude liked it too.
Had my usual order corn fritters and garlic butter shrimp with NO spice. So did Terri R. See I’m not the only one who doesn’t like spicy food! I polished off one pound of shrimp! With extra butter on the side for dipping. This stuff is so good.
Service was good. Don’t know why they kept bringing us another tables order though. Minor mixup on check too. Our server was trying to make it easier for us making individual checks making it harder for her. Thanks though for being accommodating.
Always fun spending time with great friends and eating good food! Thanks again Teri W. for setting up the UYE here!.. and so far no allergy reaction. .yay!

First, thanks to Teri W. for setting up this UYE. There were 10 of us and I did something I wouldn’t have done by myself before this. There are two Hot N Juicy outlets in Chinatown closer to me, but this is a new location and Teri knows the area!
I sat next to Mel C and and across from Khatherine and Salim. We started with a bit of an overview from Teri W about how the place works and then we got another lesson from the staff who were very attentive.
One of the best things about Unilocal beyond the mission of writing reviews from which others can learn is getting together like this at some kind of Unilocal event. It’s always fun to have some good food, good conversation, and lots of laughs. Mel C. had one of the best lines of the night – this is not a place to come with a paper cut. Your hand will burn!
I had a super time and I’ll do Hot N Juicy again.

That’s what we did at Teri W.‘s UYE at the new Hot and Juicy location.
We started with corn fritters and calamari, then Mel and I proceeded to chow down on 2 pounds of shrimp (no spice), with a side of white rice. We got to eat like true Filipinos, using our hands!
Our small group had a great time, after we figured out the best system of peeling the shrimp (heads and tails off first) and then deciding to eat the shrimp one at a time or peel a bunch first and then eat.
Michael K. put on a show of sampling the extra spicy sauce; steam was coming out of his ears.
