Vitaly Scherbo School of Gymnastics

My son loves this gym and all of his coaches. I have seen so much growth in my sons strength, focus and self confidence with the help of these coaches. I would highly recommend this school. The staff has always been helpful and pleasant to work with. It’s very obvious that the coaches truly care about these kids.

Vitaly is a fantastic gym! I recently enrolled my 7 year old son and he learned more here on his trial visit than he did at the other gym we attended for a wasted 4 months! I wish I would have started here! The staff is nice, thorough and they run the business well. My sons coach Ganna (sp?) is fantastic! He keeps my son in check, shows him the CORRECT way to do things, and shows genuine care for the kids. (My son got a random bloody nose and Ganna was quick to personally take him to the office, clean him up, and take him back to practice. I was right there, but he took care of him like he was his own! I was very impressed that he did not send him off to someone else, but took responsibility for his student. That would NOT have happened at the last gym we attended!!!) The rest of the classes I observe during my sons are all run well and with care and attention to detail. THANK YOU for your commitment to your gym and your kids! I highly recommend Vitaly!!!

We came here for a competition our daughter was in. Everyone was very friendly and great viewing area for parents.

I can’t stand this place from the staff to the coaches with the exception of Colin. My daughter was in recreational girls and the female coach is so hard on these girls and miserable. I’ve never seen her smile once. She seems to dislike her job… that’s the impression she leave. She called my daughter a cry baby. She was there to have fun and hated going because of how rude the coach was. I voiced my concerns to the office management and they pretty much dismissed my concerns. I switched from Desert Gym Cats to Vitaly because it was closer to our new home. For friendlier staff I will now make the drive back to Desert Gymcats. This place is great for competitive gym but not for kids to just have fun.

I bought the groupon just looking for a cheap activity for my 6 year old daughter. That was almost 2 years ago. After the classes included in the groupon we were hooked. We signed up for one day a week classes and have loved every week we go.
My daughter has been able to work with a few coaches (Sasha, Robert & Collin) and they’ve all been great. They are structured, knowledgable & strict yet fun!
We did attend the event to introduce kids to the competing side of things, Reach For The Stars. It cost $ 25 for my daughter to participate and she left so proud with a medal and a few ribbons. It was a little hectic getting all the parents in the building and seated as there were a lot of us, but I give them kudos for not turning anyone away (imagine if they had to tell some kids that wanted to participate that it was full) and the event ran smoothly and was a joy to watch!
The other 5 star reviews for this school are so accurate so I won’t write a novel.
I recommend this school to anyone trying to find a great gymnastics school for small children. And by the looks of the older kids «on the team» this is a great place to be. Not to mention the owner, Mr. Scherbo is kind of like a big deal in the gymnastics world, and he is always in the gym helping the kids reach their full potential!

I bought a groupon for my daughter to take gymnastic classes. I called and they said my daughter could go to the 4 year old class since she would be turning 4 a couple of weeks later. I bought the groupon on March 8^th but was told I could not use it until the week of April 6^th. I brought my daughter all dressed and ready to her first class. However, we were turned away because she was not yet four. They then told me that if I wanted her to go to a Monday or Tuesday class that I would have to make it up. They should I was only allowed four make ups and this would count. Even after explaining that we did not miss a class since we wanted to go on Wednesdays they said no. They were not friendly and did not seem to want my business. They did not have the best interest in mind for my daughter and my daughter was so sad to leave.

I found their special on groupon and learning a back handspring was on my bucket list so I went for it. I really like both the teachers I’ve had-​Sasha and Collin. I learned my back handspring before the eight weeks were over and I have already bought my next session. Everyone is friendly and helpful! They were even willing to work with my schedule when I thought I had school both nights the adult tumbling class was taught. The reason why I am giving them two stars is because I was told by their staff on the phone I would have 90 days to make up my two classes. I call to schedule them and they inform me I only have the session’s worth to reschedule my classes so now I miss out on two classes that I paid an insane amount of money for! I will not be going back after my current session ends.

Would not recommend for beginners.
I signed my 8 year old up for the beginner class. She is a beginner and was the only one in her class who could not do a cartwheel. I watched as she could not do it at all since she didn’t know the basics of how to do it and yet got NO help from the instructor. The instructor barely spoke to my child as she watched her collapse to the floor each time.
After the lesson, I asked my daughter what she thought of the class and she said that the only thing that the teacher told her was «you’re doing it wrong.» No help (i was watching, no help at all), just those words from the instructor.
When I called the studio, i told them what happened and they said they were sorry and would email me back to talk more about it which they never did.
Obviously this is not what we expected for a «beginners» class that cost us $ 189. We have not been back.

My two girls have been going here since they were 2 (they are now 7 & 9). We love Vitaly’s!!! The coaches are great and the girls enjoy going every week. We are not on team, so I can only speak for the rec program. It is well organized and fun, and coaches actually coach not just babysit, encouraging and challenge the kids. I have noticed it smells like sweaty kids (it’s a gym), but I’m a total germ-​a-​phobe and I’ve never noticed it being dirty. Staff are always nice and informative.

My 3 year old daughter attended her first class here with Irina. Irina did a great job encouraging my daughter and working with her since everything was new to her. My daughter has sensory processing disorder and has a difficult time following instruction and gets frustrated easily. I think we’ve found the perfect class for her at Vitaly Scherbo.
The center is clean, the front desk is friendly and not high pressure at all. Classes are small and they have a free trial class which gives you an idea of what to expect from future classes. They have a great selection of leotards and they seem to be reasonably priced. I am so glad I found this place.

This is a great place for kids to get good quality exercise at and learn discipline. Every coach here seems to be on top of their game and they all love the kids.
I have been bringing my daughter here since she was 5 and she loves coming every week. I can’t say enough good things about this place and the entire staff.
And one night a month they have a thing called parents night out… Drop the kids off at 6:30 and pick them up at 11:30, if course costs a few dollars but my daughter loves it and it gives me a night to see a movie or enjoy a quiet house…
Once again this is a great school and I highly recommend it…

I love my daughter’s coaches. Especially when they let me know she isn’t doing what she’s suppose to do. My daughter has been doing gymnastics since 2 and this is my favorite spot so far.
