As you can see from the few Unilocal posts that I write, I only write about businesses that I am truly passionate about. So I will only take the time to write a review if the business does a great job or if they tick me off. As for Wet Desert Expeditions, they do a great job. Five Stars! I have never been kayaking before, so I chose the beginner’s paddle, which included an introduction to kayak rescue skills. I did not participate in the rescue skills portion, but those who did seemed to have learned some important techniques for those who wish to pursue kayaking as a regular hobby. The event organizers /owners, Tim and Kylie were very professional and fun to be around. When we arrived everything was set up for the group, and everything was well organized. I would like to note their professionalism and organization skills because I have witnessed and experienced other outfitters who do not pay attention to the details like Wet Desert Expeditions; it truly makes a world of difference on the entire experience. Our group had 19 people and lasted about 4 hours. Even with a fairly large group, the guides were able to give a lot of individual attention to everyone that participated. The beginners paddle cost $ 55. This includes everything one might need for the day and the guided experience. To me this is an excellent value. Just to be able to take a few hours away from the daily grind is priceless.

Decided to go on a kayak adventure to enjoy Vegas! We met out at Lake Mead at 8:15 am to launch our kayaks for a beginner paddle. There were 14 participants in total. We paddled out to Boulder Islands and hung on the beach, then paddled back. The whole adventure took around 3 hours. Tim, one of the owners of Wet Desert, sent us a pre-trip email with all the details. He really catered to us beginners. He told us what we needed, what to expect, what to bring, and so on. He provided crystal clear directions to our launch. It was really easy! For $ 55 a person, we just showed up and we had a kayak, life vest, dry bag, paddle, and guide waiting for us. Tim and Kylie, the other owner, got us all comfy in a boat and pushed us off. They consistently checked up on us throughout the morning and seemed sincerely concerned about our comfort and level of happiness. It was a really awesome way to experience the lake and spend a great day outside! I was really impressed with the ease and professionalism. Try this out for a great day in Vegas and a truly zen lake experience.
