I finally got to meet our new CM Nate! He’s pretty awesom and so is Tiffany! Thank you both for pulling off an AMAZING night! The staff here are great and very knowledgeable of what goes on here at the restaurant. Props to them for everything that they did for us AND they sent us away with gift bags. So we did this rotation thing which was pretty fun, forced everyone to interact with people they might not have met before. I got to meet some pretty cool people, I was a little sad I wasn’t with my friends who were in a different group but it was all good because my group was awesome! The food was amazing and I am NOT a tequilla person but I tried the drinks and their drinks are amazing and I’m willing to drink them happily! They were THAT good. I’m super excited to go back and try other items on Mercadito’s menu when I have the time. Industry cards for 50% off??? uhhh YES

I was invited to this YEE by Lindsey O. This event was well put together and well thought out. Very creative idea to assign deck cards and have everyone break out into groups based on the face on the card they were given. First, as we walked in we were greated with a very tasty Margarita. A bit strong at the time since I hadn’t eaten and had a bit of a hot sauce kick but it was great. Shot glasses were given out for checking into the event on Unilocal.Though I forgot to get mine. There were 4 stations. Each station had a very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and friendly Mercadito staff member demonstrating to each group how they make some of their specialized menu items. My groups first station was margaritas. You could have one made with ‘heat’(some sort of habanero additive), or ‘smoke’, which was kind of a chipoltle kind of additive. I tried them both and I’m more partial to the smoke myself. The second station was making guac. A standard run-of-the-mill guac and a pinapple based one. Very interesting to watch the chefs make it and share their guac making secrets. Needless to say, the pineapple based one was on point. The third station was making another kind of margarita. I believe it was pineapple based. Excellent! This one is definitely my favorite so far. The sweetness of the pineapple coupled with the subtle heat of the tequila is a perfect combination. The fourth and last stations had excellent fish and beef tacos. Just the right amount of fixins and a twinge of lemmom juice madw them very tasty. I believe this may have been everyone’s favorite station since by the time you got to it you’d had at least three very loaded margaritas! The event host and restaurant manager were very active and engaging. They made sure everyone was having a great time, and trust me, we were. Well, I wasn’t feeling very well and felt a bit off but felt a bit better as the night went on, and who wouldn’t with so many great people and beautiful woman to share an awesome margaritas with? Salud!

My appetito was ready for action when I showed up about 20 minutes early to this YEE. I was happy to wait the few minutes before entering just because I knew this event would be special. I started out checking in and receiving my name badge which came in a card sleeve on a lanyard. I thought this was unusual but then I saw the playing card in the sleeve. This is still unusual in my mind but at least there is a reason for the card sleeve now. I was a 7 of Clubs, BTW. The cards would come into play later. Upon entering the patio section of Mercadito I was offered a very unique and flavorful cocktail. The Misty Sleeve. I know there was hibicus, ginger syrup, hot sauce and some sort of alcohol in it. Beyond that, I am at a loss without looking at the description(or recipe we were given). It was good and that is all that mattered. As other Unilocalers began to arrive and the greetings were exchanged, the meaning of the cards became apparent. We were broken up into groups based on the suit of our cards. I was in a group with a bunch of friends by pure luck. There was April, Norm, Earl and Regina. That was cool. The night was unique as far as Unilocal events go. At least in my experience. We rotated to various stations with our group. The Clubs started at the taco station where we were treated to carne asada tacos and mahi mahi tacos. The asada was impossibly tender. The mahi was unbelievably flavored. Both were worth a second tasting. And maybe third, fourth and fifth tastings down the line. Next up was the margarita station. These weren’t your daddy’s margaritas either. We had or choice of blueberry or guava. We ould have either with smoke(mezcal) or heat(hot salsa) added. I had a guava margarita with smoke. Delicious. Third on our journey was the guacamole station. We were shown how to make both traditional guac and guac with pineapple. The pineapple guac was a different flavor. Tart and fruity while spicy at the same time. The traditional was my favorite. I love avocado and like to taste that flavor. Finally, we all ended our quest at the Signature Drink Table where we were treated to a Little Market, a refreshing take on a classic margarita with pineapple and guajillo pepper syrup. Everything was great. Our night was capped off with a special announcement from Nate and Mercadito. There would be swag from the resturant and coconut flan. What a way to end the evening. We got some good swag too. First of all, we received a Unilocal shot glass for checking in. Second, the stuff from the restaurant was cool too. Coupons, recipes for their drinks, tiny bottles of tequila, a tin of spiced nuts, a tin of margarita glass rim seasoning and either a hat or a t-shirt. I went with the hat since XL T’s are not big enough for my taco loving butt. Good food, good drink and good friends. Good YEE as always.

My second YEE! But I’m not elite(yet)… This event was super intimate(which I love) with a great choice of food and beverages! Our gracious YJ( Unilocal Jockey) Nate M. supplied tons of goodies and took some time to get to know us! Awesome!(We just gotta get you a megaphone next time!) The first station we were at wasn’t ready for us when they did bring out the tacos we only had about 3 minutes to scarf them all down after we took our photos of course… the rest of the stations were perfect! My favorite of the night were the Mahi Mahi tacos! Sooo good so I didn’t mind the little bit of wait we had for the station. I’m definitely coming back to Mercadito for those! The drinks were so strong but so good… well worth the posted prices! I really hope they bring that pineapple guacamole to Las Vegas because that was definitely a hit too! The goodie bag from Mercadito was definitely a nice surprise can’t complain about free bottles of alcohol lol! And finally… The flan was yummy… the portions could’ve been a bit bigger though.

This is one of my favorite Elite Unilocal events! Food was excellent, margaritas so delish! I brought Alisa C as my +1 and we had a blast. They broke us into small groups and we rotated to different tasting stations. That was a lot of fun especially hearing the bartenders tell how they made their margaritas. We started at the smoke and heat margarita stations. I had a smoke margarita and Alisa had a heat margarita. Absolutely awesome. The smoke flavor was very interesting and I loved it. I tasted Alisa’s margarita and it was out of this world. The Baja fish tacos were my favorite. I don’t eat red meat but fellow Unilocalers raved over the carne asada tacos. The traditional guacamole was delicious mmm mm. I could have eaten the whole bowl. Pineapple guac was tasty and had a hint of chipotle. Nate did an awesome job organizing such a nice event. The staff and management at Mercadito really impressed me, and especially the food and beverages. So impressed that I brought a friend there on fri night for dinner. Loved the coconut flan at the end of the event. They also gave us some really nice gift bags full of awesome swag including little tequila bottles. Woot! Also loved the ladies Mercadito shirt. A+++++

So there’s margaritas and then there’s MARGARITAS! Wow, I’m still blown away by this place. The drinks are so fancy and not in a pretentious kind of way, it’s the«these mixologists really know their stuff» kinda way. I was lucky enough to try about four different drinks that night. Safe to say they all were incredible. But the guava margarita was definitely my favorite. Moving on to the food, we were treated to a sampling of carne asada & fish tacos(surf & turf). I honestly can’t believe how good the tacos were. Probably the best tacos I’ve had in Vegas so far. From now on, these will be the standard. I really wanted to pig out and eat more but then we were moved on to the other tasting station. Mercadito literally built up my Appetito to come back for more. The guacamole with pineapple was delicious too. I already want to go back to try other items on the menu. The ambience was lovely. I love the location and outside patio was very romantic. Thank you Nate for introducing me to such a great restaurant. Authentic Mexican food & drink in Las Vegas? It’s about time.

A great event, hats off to Nate for yet another classic Unilocal!Elite event. It was my first time at Mercadito but not my last! The tacos were fantastic and interesting. The guacamole was some of the best I have had, and the drinks well let me say the bartenders are not fooling around here. I will post pictures in a few seconds, but jet know that you can’t go wrong by stopping by this place. Live it up you are in Las Vegas for cryin’ out loud!

Not sure what Unilocalers like more food or swag… we got plenty of both tonight. And I finally got to dip my toe in the Nate pool. Our new CM is quite the man, I felt like it was the good old days again. Small groups of Unilocalers so you can actually mingle without feeling overwhelmed, plenty of announcements so we know what the heck is going on, enough food and drink so everyone gets a taste, and a CM that makes the rounds and makes sure everyone is happy. Mercadito did a fab job at making us Unilocalers happy as well, plenty of drinks and grub, friendly informative staff, and suprises! Everything I ate was delicious; Carne Asada Tacos, Baja Tacos, Fresh made Guacamole and chips and Coconut Flan(Yum!). And this«Mexican» food is not your typical bland food you get at every other locals casino, it actual has«kick». The drinks are not lacking spice either, it wasn’t over done, just a nice burn. My favorite drink was The Little Market, nice pineapple-y flavor. I gotta give a shout out to the photographer Patrick who will forever be known to us as Thatcher, and by the end of the night he was lucky enough to become Stephanie S.‘s personal photographer. I can’t wait to go back to Mercadito. Thank you to all of the Mercadito staff, Red Rock, Unilocal, and of course Nate M. Can’t wait for the next one, hope it’s sooner rather than later!

Nothing against my hometown, Columbus, OH — but this has been my favorite YEE to date. My goodness, it was perfect! I loved the atmosphere of Mercadito! Being my first Vegas Unilocal event, it was such a perfect place to be able to meet new people and really get a feel for the Unilocal community… And about the food and drinks… WOAH! Upon entry, we were offered a Misty Sleeve to «try»… these were NOT stingy pours people and the Misty Sleeve, not unlike a frisky chihuahua, comes with a bite. I think they knew what they were doing making that drink though because it keeps you wanting to drink more and more. My group’s first stop was the guacamole station where we got to watch the traditional and pineapple guacamole being made. The traditional guacamole was delicious but that pineapple guacamole? LETMETELLYOU, you WILL be hooked. They really could’ve opened the pineapple guacamole lesson with«You gon’ learn TODAY!» Sadly, the pineapple guacamole has disappeared from the menu… but I plan to return to Mercadito to try the Mango guacamole as I figure that will be quite promising. :) On to the second station… more drink samples! The good folks at Mercadito have the cocktail/margarita thing down. I’m coming from craft beer central, so these crafty cocktails are slightly new to me and I will definitely be returning to Mercadito to try more! At this station we tried the Little Market. The cilantro garnishment was way different to me, but added a nice touch. Honestly, I think the Little Market would pair well with the pineapple guacamole… perfectly. 3 — TACOS! I will absolutely be returning for the carne and baja tacos! They were SO delicious. Don’t tell anyone, but this was my first«fish taco» experience(baja) and MAN was it AWESOME! the Mahi Mahi was cooked perfectly crunchy and the chipotle aioli along with the mexican-style slaw was just devine. Yes, I just said«devine» and I’m not wearing a fur shaw. That’s how good it was. Try them. Thank me later. Last station was the *drum roll* margarita station! This was my first blueberry margarita experience and I was not disappointed. I got a chance to try the guava margarita as well though and… I will be back. I know I’ve said that regarding a few other things… but I absolutely will be back for the guava margarita! It is so tasty… perfect amount of sweetness, for me at least… but the looks on the faces of the others who tried it told me that it was pretty stellar across the board. Overall my first Vegas YEE was a BLAST! Thanks so much to Nate M. for hooking us all up with such an amazing time at Mercadito! I’m really looking forward to future events and discovering more new places here in the Las Vegas area. :)

A night of many firsts — first elite event of the year, first elite event with Nate as CM, first time at Mercadito! The patio and bar were closed off for the event and Nate did a great job getting folks to interact more with each other by breaking up everyone into smaller groups. I really appreciated this since this is only my 2ndYEE in Las Vegas. The patio was beautiful and a great, chill spot for happy hours. This event reminded me why I love Unilocal so much — Unilocal is all about introducing you to places that you may have never thought to go to. I love going to movies at Red Rock, but I seldom eat out there. This amazing experience at Mercadito has definitely changed my mind! My favorite dishes at this event were the guava margarita, the pineapple guacamole they brought out specifically for the event, and their baja fish tacos. I’m STILL thinking about how delicious the crust on that fish was and how well all the toppings and corn tortilla worked together. My husband who hates drinking actually enjoyed all the drinks that we got to sample, particularly the Misty Sleeve that had that slight hot sauce kick. Luckily, we were given some coupons for return visits that I’ll definitely be using ASAP. Aside from the wonderful food, I loved the staff here! Everyone was so engaging, from the bussers to the management. My glass was never empty, and at times both my hands were full with drinks and food. Their swag bags at the end of the night were much appreciated and I will be proudly wearing my Mercadito shirt as soon as I get to my laundry. Thanks Nate and crew for putting on such a wonderful event and introducing us to an amazing establishment!

My first Unilocal Elite Event… with Nate M. being our CM. YEEEE!!! I guess YEE does mean that Elite Unilocaler’s taking over a place and running around screaming YEE, read YT. What an awesome event at the Mercadito’s inside of the Red Rock Casino, technically the event was setup in the outside patio. I was welcomed by Portland’s CM Don B., Las Vegas’s CM, Nate M. and Unilocal shot glass dispenser Tiffany O. haha no Tiffany O. is awesome :) Some ladies welcomed me with some drinks, a spicy red drink called the«Misty Sleeve». It was actually tasty and refreshing until the heat kicked it, I needed more drinks. After a brief speech from Nate and a rep from Mercadito’s we were divided up into four groups, Spades, Clubs, Hearts, and Diamonds. Diamonds! Our first station was the Guacamole station where the guys demonstrated how they made two of their guacs the Traditional and the Pineapple. The Traditional was good but the Pineapple was clearly the favorite in the group, based on being the first guac completely wiped out by the group. Our second station was one of my favorites kind of station, one involving alcohol. The bartender showed us how they made one of their signature drinks the«Little Market». And then handed them out of course. Another tasty and refreshing one, even sneaked in another serving and the very end before we moved onto the next station. Our third station was the tacos station. First was the skirt steak taco, Taco De Carne. It was good, had epazote and oregano marinated skirt steak, crispy shallots, watercress-jicama slaw, and serrano roasted galic aioli. Second was the fish tacos, Tacos De Estillo Baja, it was my favorite of the two. It was beer battered mahi mahi, chipotle aioli, and a mexican-style slaw. I’ll probably go back for those. DIdn’t sneak in a second serving this time even though they offered. Last was the margaritas station. They were making their traditional margarita and we had the options of adding smoke, heat, and blueberry or guava. Again I wasn’t paying attention talking with other Unilocalers in the back so I wasn’t sure what the smoke and heat was. I went with the traditional margarita.
They later brought out some flan and a gift bag to give to everyone. The bag included a Mercadito t-shirt or cap, various Mercadito menu’s and fliers, a container of Mercadito spicy nuts, some other Mercadito items, and items to make my own Mercadito drinks at home, two 50 ml bottles of tequila SCORE! Great evening outside for a YEE and catching up with old Unilocal friends and making new ones. Thanks Unilocal and Mercadito and their staff. I can definitely see myself back with others enjoying the outdoor patio during their happy hours.

Fun! Most YEEs are pretty awesome, but Mercadito really went above and beyond preparing a real ‘event’ for us. There were chefs and managers and bartenders at each station, anxious to tell us all about their food and drink and even answer tons of random questions about the restaurant or Vegas or food and drink in general. On top of that, after we ate and drank, they provided us with hats and tshirts! And cans of mixed nuts to take home, which are awesome. The steak and fish tacos were great. The margaritas and specialty cocktails were awesome(seriously, the traditional margarita… delish!), and even this non-avocado eater enjoyed the guacamole! After this event, I can truly say that I will be in to check out Mercadito as a paying customer. Thank you!

One of my favorite YEE’s, we were treated to four stations, two drink stations, a street taco station and a guacamole station. The fish tacos were excellent and on par with some of the local joints in San Diego and Ensenada. They make their corn tortillas fresh daily and they taste great. They also have their margaritas in a shaker keg so they can dispense it from the tap. Actually a quite effective way to do it and your drinks arrive faster. They can make it hot with some habanero sauce. I tried the Guava and the Blueberry and both were delicious. They have a spicy rub instead of the plain salt most places offer. Great to see everyone. looking forward to the next event.

Alright, Mercadito and Nate are masterminds Drinking margaritas to pass the time Tequila, Mezcal, and a bit of lime Have one, or 2 but no more than 9 Because if you drink and drive youll pay a fine! The tacos they were oh so great The steak, they let that marinate Normally I don’t like fish But if I had just one more wish It would be to have just one more fish Taco You know? Let’s talk about the Guacamole Some people say gua-ca-mole Cilantro, avocado, and pineapple They put it in a giant bowl Accompanied with some fresh corn chips That stuff right there was the freaking… ish! Seriously, one of the best Elite events! I loved the small crowd and seeing new faces and actually getting to talk and engage with the manager, bartender, and servers. Thank you to all the staff at Mercadito and all the Unilocal peeps! It was great to meet Nate! Yay!!!

One of my favorite Unilocal events yet! Ample mingling with new faces and some old favorite(Jessica M, Eric S, Norm K), alongside margaritas, chips and guac, and tacos– the trifeceta of Taco Tuesday staples. Except on a Monday but who’s keeping track? Guacamole was made in front of us, and the traditional had a jalapeño kick to it while the pina was my favorite twist on standard guac that I’ve tried so far. Both the baha and carne tacos were booming with flavor! I’d come back and order either again, and want to try their shrimp on another visit. Drinks were flowing throughout: Misty Sleeve upon entry with habanero pepper sauce for some heat, The Little Market was fresh and citrusy(my favorite), and the custom blueberry and mango margs(available with smoked heat and without) were unique versions that were surprisingly good. Our evening ended with a surprise dessert, a light and creamy flan, the perfect simple ending to our culinary adventure. But that’s not all! We were sent home with goodie bags full of nuts, mini liquor bottles, shirts and hats, and various coupons to return to Mercadito for a discounted experience. Muchas gracias to Mercadito staff, who were welcoming and knowledgeable and happy to interact with us! Additional thanks to our leadership crew, Nate and Tiffany with visiting Don B. of Portland!

This was a pretty fun event overall. Big thanks to Nate and the crew, and thanks to the great team at Mercadito for pulling off such a great event! First off, when checking in, we were able to meet Don, the Unilocal Portland CM who was our honorary Unilocalterm for the night. I also want to give a big shoutout to Unilocaler, LJ R., for making me his +1 for the night. We were then broken off into little groups. Me and LJ were part of the diamond group. Our group leader, Tiffany O., did such a great job keeping us organized, and I think we wouldn’t have had such a great time if it wasn’t for her. The first station that we were grouped at was the guacamole station. Here, we were given a quick explanation of the process and history behind guacamole, and then we were given a couple of guacs to try, a traditional one, and a pineapple one. While the traditional one was good, that pineapple guacamole was hitting all the right notes! If you go to Mercadito, try that pineapple guacamole, you will be hooked. Our group then hit the margarita station and we were given a real nice one. What I like about Mercadito is that none of their drinks are watered down, they are strong and very vibrant. Then, we moved on to a taco station. We were given a carne taco, and a Baja fish taco. Holy crap, the tacos here are spectacular. The carne taco had tender steak with spices, an these killer fried onions in the middle. Oh, and the fish tacos? Easily the best ones I have had to date! We then moved to our final station which was a custom cocktail station. All I remember is guava, smoke, heat. That would be the way to put it. Later on, we were able to try a coconut flan. It was good. Great seeing new and old Unilocal peeps. Once again, thanks LJ for letting me tag along! Great event, and I know that if I want to recommend people a great Mexican restaurant that has great food, drinks, and a lively atmosphere, Mercadito will be the place to go!

This event was spectacular! As far as the venue goes… I was already a huge fan of Mercadito as we visit often because the food is so delicious and the drinks are unlike anything else around. The carne asada tacos are a must have and the pineapple guac, let’s just say I will be requesting that from now on! Omar is a fabulous bartender and Spectacular behind the scenes Ryan makes fantastic drinks from down below :) If you ever need habaneros, Miguel is your man! The Misty Sleeve will be on my ticket from now on! The event was so organized, fun and educational. We learned while we drank and ate! I’ll take that kind of learning any day! Nate M did a great job and I look forward to his future events! Thanks for a great evening Unilocal Staff!

This YEE at Mercadito was fantastic! Closing their patio to the public, Unilocal Elites had the place to themselves. We checked in outside and went into the patio area from there. The tables had a lot of Unilocal goodies – buttons, bandanas, mints – the normal things you see at Unilocal events. We each got a hang tie with our names and a playing card. Nate told us he’d explain the reason for the card. When the event officially got under way, he explained that the cards reprented the group we were in. Four suits of cards and four stations to visit on our building of our appetito. First stop for our group of clubs was the taco area. We tasted carne tacos and fish tacos made with mahi mahi. Both were very good, but the fish was the winner. Then we went to the margarita area. I watched as those in our gorup chose what kind of margarita they wanted. Ryan, the head bartender at Mercadito was very good at explaining the ingredients. He also described a 5 gallon machine that’s below the restaurant where the ingredients are mixed and then arrive by tubing at the bar. He made the analogy that there was a 5 gallon cocktail shaker below the restaurant. The people who got drinks liked them. Next up was the guacamole area. Here we met Chef Aldo Ayala, corporate chef for Mercadito. He made some fresh pineapple guacamole while another Mercadito employee made traditional guacamole. They don’t serve the pineapple at the Las Vegas location but they wanted us to try it. Both were very good. The pineapple one was good but I prefer the traditional. On to the last stop – a drink stand where you could try drinks that you can make at home with their mixers. After this stop, we were given SWAG bags with 2 small bottles of tequila, some spicy mixed nuts, and some other goodies. We were also given a choice of a shirt or a cap as another take home gift. In a few minutes, the staff brought out coconut flan, a perfect ending to a fun two hours. Much appreciation to everyone at Mercadito. Everyone was friendly, polite, and willing to answer any questions. Thanks also for letting us take over your patio for several hours. It was a great evening to be outside enjoying food, beverages, and conversation. It’s always a pleasure to see old freinds and meet some new ones. Thanks to Nate for planning and executing a fantastic YEE! I hope you realize I’ll expect you to out do yourself for the next one. ;) Thanks, Nate!

Five star event all the way! I feel so fortunate that me and my +1 were able to attend this. My fave YEE to date. Nate really pulled out all the stops on this one. The amount of people there was perfect. Never felt crowded, and the group was all smiles all night. The staff at Mercadito were all on point, and the guy manning the margarita station was a stand out. The guacamole and tacos were delicious! For sure we are coming back here to try more stuff. And we even got industry cards for 50% off the entire bill every Tues! What?! Then to top all that off, we got a huge swag bag! Mercadito t shirt(super soft jersey, my new fave tee), TWO mini bottles of El JImador, roasted nuts, Unilocal branded stuff(including a shot glass I haven’t seen before), and more stuff I’m sure I’m forgetting. Thanks Nate for the awesome event! We had a blast.

Awesome Event! Earl and I arrived at 5:50pm and was greeted by Tiffany and Don. We quickly checked into the event and got our shot glasses(which Earl left on the table — dang it), my cool Elite badge, and our wrist band. The event started with passed Misty Sleeve(delish), and Nate explaining the four groups of Elites and plus ones will rotate among 4 different station. First Station: Two different kinds of taco. Taco Carne — super tender chunks of marinated skirt steak, nice crispy shallots topped it gave it a nice crunch. Taco Estilo Baja — crispy beer-battered mahi mahi was yummy. Second Station: Margarita. This was really good. I am not a drinker, but dang, the guava and heat margarita that I decided to try was good. I ended up finishing this drink by the end of the event. Third Station: Holy Guacamole this is as freshest as it could be. Chef and help demo how to make the guac and the fresh ingredients that went into it. I never knew one can elevate the guac by adding pineapple. It was good… really good. I will make my guac with pineapple from now on. The chips were coming out hot. Very good. Fourth Station: The Little Market. This delicious concoction includes the tequila, fresh pineapple, chile guajillo, and pico piquin. I like the pico piquin. This was a refreshing drink. Our night ended with more mingling, a generous gift bag(includes an American Apparel t-shirt, soft and comfy, even a small size for women and medium size for men, that’s right, not just the t-shirt you take home to wear as pjs, and hats), and delicious coconut flan. The entire time, Nate visited each of our group X number of times to ensure we are having an awesome time. Prior to the end of the night, Nate even reminded everyone to drink responsibly, sip on water if need to, and if unable to drive, cab it. Very considerate of Nate. Thank you Nate, Tiffany, Don, and the amazing staff of Mercadito for this awesome evening. We all had so much fun, enjoyed the offerings and drinks of Mercadito. I cannot wait for Mercadito to open up in Green Valley Ranch. Yay!!! In the mean time, Earl and I cannot wait to come back and enjoy the recommended blackened sword fish tacos and micheladas from Mercadito.
