My husband and I thought we purchased a used camper from the star salesman, Tyler, but turns out the creep took our $ 1000 deposit on a camper that had all ready been sold. Then the company gave us the «we will call you back today, tomorrow, tonight «Try NEVER until i was really PO’d. Instead of telling us the truth, they told us it had been badly damaged. Caught them in that lie when they found out my husband had stopped in on a Saturday, the day after the supposed damage, and was told by Tyler we could pick up the camper on the following Monday. When I confronted the manager with this information he knew we were onto what they did. Said, this Tyler has done things like this before… Tyler still working there? Yup! Disreputable, dishonest, disappointing! Triple D! Steer clear folks because even if you had a good experience, you somehow still got screwed. Zero stars!!!

If I could give less then one star I would have. Don’t do business with Albany RV. I gave them permission to run my credit with one bank, and they ran it with multiple. With bank after bank, after bank. The bank I gave them permission, approved us. There was no need to check with a ton of other banks. They said they had the camper, but they didn’t. It took three months for the camper to come in. In that time the loan expired and we had to reapply. We were denied the second time because they ran our credit with too many banks and my credit score dropped. They then said we can get you a loan for 18% interest, the first loan was 10%. But the trade in on our old camper was now going to be $ 700 less then before, and they were raising the money down by $ 1000, and the new interest rate almost doubled. It’s like they just wanted to screw us on every way they could. They don’t return your calls or emails, they don’t make good on any false promises and they totally suck. We’re sticking with our old camper, they will never get our business.

If I could give this dealership less than one star, I would without question. This was by far, the worst experience that I have ever had at any type of dealership. I have received better customer service at McDonalds. It all started on day 1 when my wife and I went to visit Albany RV to look at travel trailers, we had our mind set on a Jayco because they have great quality and back it up with a 2 year warranty. This is when we were assigned to possibly the worst salesperson to ever work at a dealership, Cheryl Travers. After looking at a couple different models we were down to two options, a 32 foot Jayco and a 28 foot Jayco. Cheryl told us if we put down our deposit that day, they would match up to $ 500. I told her we were un sure of our trucks ability to tow the 32 foot, I would like some time to do the math and decide if we need to go with the 28 foot trailer for towing reasons. She said if we need to switch, that it would be no problem what so ever, and they would still match the $ 500. So we put down the $ 500 deposit and went home. The very next day I showed up at Albany RV, Cheryl was not there even though she said she would be, so I was stuck dealing with the manager of a different team, who of course was unhappy and rude about having to work with a deal that would not make him any money. I explained the situation to the manager, who then proceeded to tell me that if I switch trailers my deposit will not be matched, and the price of the 28 foot trailer is almost the same with the options I wanted because Cheryl did the paper work wrong and wrote us up for a bare bones 32 foot trailer, instead of the elite package with the fiberglass siding like we wanted. But I told the manager, lets pick out all the options and then maybe Cheryl can get the $ 500 match and price straightened out. I should have known at this point to just take my money and walk a way, but I gave Albany RV the benefit of the doubt. A couple days later, the particulars were worked out and they did end up matching our 500 dollars and got to a price we agreed upon. Great! all down hill from here. so I thought. A couple months went by, we finally got our VIN number to process our loan. I decided I wanted to add a slide topper to our trailer before we pick it up. I called Cheryl Travers multiple times, no call back. I sent emails, no emails back. I thought maybe she got fired for being a bad saleswoman. Unfortunately she didn’t. She just never had the courtesy to email be back until after a couple of more weeks when I decided I will just have another dealership do it for me. After a few more weeks, our trailer finally arrived! My wife and I were so excited. Cheryl called us and asked us to come in that Sunday to see the trailer, and make sure it was everything we wanted. My wife and I showed up that Sunday and said we were here to see the trailer! Well, Cheryl wasn’t there, our trailer was cleaned, it was tucked way out back filthy dirty, and all they really wanted was our check. I understand they want to get paid, and have no problem paying, but don’t lie to me about why I am going there and then not even have the saleswoman there to show it to us. So after a bit of a disgruntled meeting with the manager Michael Stramiello. We gave them the check and had some random lot guy take us out and show us our trailer that was filthy with doors falling off from travel. Great. When we left I spoked to Michael Stramiello and asked specifically, «Our trailer is going to be locked and stored where other people will not be walking through it, correct? He assured me Of course, it will be on our other lot and no one will be going through it, it will be locked and because it is already sold. A couple weeks went by, we had our demo set up for March 12^th, it was only February 13^th, but my brother was visiting and asked if we could take a trip to see it and my paid for trailer was on the lot being shown to other customers! Cheryl lied to us about where it was and then said ‘let me go unlock it for you!’ I just saw people going in and out of it. She assured me that, that was not true. Lied right to my face! Absolutely disgusted!!! I explained to the manger Mike Stramielleo, I AM DONE! I want a new trailer or my money back!, we ended up on them installing a slide topper for me, and giving me a $ 100 Dollar gift card to there parts department. We showed up on March 12^th to finally do our demo and pick up our trailer. We get there, sit down with some other random salesmen, (Cheryl was there) who tells us now we owe $ 150 for registration. Why was this not included in our quote? Why was this not ever told to us? Why did no one tell us before we came? I was very mad, at this point I feel like I am getting screwed by Albany RV. Mike Stramiello came over, frustrated and said, «I don’t know why they didn’t call you, they were supposed to! This deal is my nightmare! and I don’t even make any money on it!» Wow first of all why would you tell me that. Its your mistake.

Visited Albany RV today to look at a used Jayco advertised on Craigslist. The unit was perfect for us but unfortunately already had another buyer. The salesman Tyler was so professional and a real go getter. We were very impressed with this young man and the entire dealership. The prices of the used and new units seemed quite fair and it was like going to an RV show with the huge selection. we will go back.

Absolutely the worst place to buy an RV you could ever imagine. As a customer I knew more than the three different salesman they gave me. I put a down payment on a 2015 Rockwood travel trailer and they sold it two days later without even calling me. very shady dealership.

From the first to the last person we delt with they were less than honest. Told the AC could not be repaired due to no parts being available, BUT, they had a solution. A roof mount unit. Took me less than 30 minutes to source parts for the basement air, they were not interested in hearing that.
Unfortunately, for us, we completed the sale with them installing the roof AC. We are from the western desert since unit does not keep it cool while in NY don’t think it will work there either.
FYI New York Lemmon law does NOT apply to motorhomes, travel trailers or 5^th wheels. So, BUYER BEWARE.

DO NOT buy an RV from them, the warranty and service department is terrible! We have been waiting over a year for parts. Not once but twice we have had appointments and service person didn’t show up. Albany RV = terrible customer service even after we spent 70k on a unit. I would stay far away from this place if you are considering a purchase of an RV.

We had a travel trailer on consignment with Albany RV. Very easy process, worked with TJ who made everything extremely simple. Dropped it off, signed an agreement, and waited until camper season was in swing to get it sold.
Took a little bit to sell because of many buyers having less than stellar credit, but that’s not an RV dealership’s fault. Neither is hidden damage in an RV. I see a lot of reviews on here criticizing the dealer for hidden damage. Many times a used trailer will have things wrong you just don’t see on a typical inspection. I know from experience myself.
Buy a new one folks then– used is much cheaper but inherently has risk.
Anyhow, mostly a smooth process and eventually got the trailer sold, new owner gets a great well taken care of camper and all is good.

My salesperson Kerri tried to sell me a sway bar for a 1344 lbs. pop up. It’s actually only recommend for trailers over 3000lbs. She then tried to add electric brakes to my Vans tow package yet the trailer I wanted didn’t have electric brakes. She had no clue what the camper did or did not have. Absolutely clueless, all she cared about was the deposit. The ads completely lie about the actual financing terms. What was $ 99/​mo in ad was offered at $ 154/​mo because contrary to their add it was only available as a 5 year loan. I encourage any new customers to look beyond the façade and see this place for what it is. An unethical and deceitful business.

OK, so this company turned out not to be as bad as I first suggested. I’ve tried to catch them doing something wrong, I’ve filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the U.S. Attorney, I’ve called the local police station and the DMV, and even reached out to a handful of law firms, but in the end it turns out they did nothing wrong. Let me repeat that: This is an honest company.
I thought there was an odometer discrepancy on my motorhome to the tune of 40,000 miles, but it turned out it was being displayed in kilometers instead of miles. Of course they blamed me («You must’ve hit the button!» What button? It took me a month to find this button, plus I’d just gotten the thing!), but in the end there was no wrongdoing. Just not giving a hoot.
But I can blame this dealership for shoddy customer service. They had me schedule my «walk-​through» of the unit a month in advance, but when I needed to reschedule they said they were booked for the next 6 weeks. Later, when I needed service at one of their Florida locations, they said they were booked for 2 months! Do you start to see a pattern here?
The unit wasn’t cleaned and the interior was disgusting, including mouse droppings near the stove and mouse urine in at least two cabinets. When I pointed this out they said they’d clean it, but all they did was remove the droppings. Why would they spend the money to clean it? It’s not cost efficient.
They dumped the sewage tanks after I purchased the unit, but not completely, and a nauseating smell persisted for months. Service records show it was in their possession for at least 10 months, so the tanks must have sat that way all that time. The fresh water system was contaminated.
Overall, it took many hours and days of cleaning to get the unit in a shape I’m comfortable with. Even so, I continue finding things. Add to that the don’t give a s**t attitude, and it’s not the first place I’d do business with.
In responding the BBB complaint, the manager wrote: «Note that I’m returning your call first thing on a Monday morning,» (it was 10 AM), like he wanted a medal for it or something. Someone should have handled the issue in the first place, before it went to the BBB.
When I first brought up the odometer discrepancy to someone who was very competent and friendly otherwise, her reply was: «Oh, I’m sorry. Let me transfer you to the title department. She’s out this week, but you can leave her a message.» Thanks for your concern!
I’ll end with one last story. When I first walked into the dealership in Albany I had an inkling of what I wanted to buy, but I also wanted to search alternative options. I was assigned to a salesperson I could tell right away was new. I gave her a search parameter (Class C motorhome), and guess what? She didn’t even know how to search the inventory!
After trying for a couple of minutes, she went to get help from one of her coworkers. I sat at her desk by myself for 10 minutes, then I left. Someone was probably making her wait as well, not giving a damn about her issue. And they obviously didn’t train her sufficiently. That’s the kind of customer service you can can expect here.
UPDATE 9÷20÷15:
I should have left up the original review, and simply updated it. It turns out that what this company is still pretty shady. They sell you used units they know have multiple costly issues through their partner banks, then they saddle you with an «extended warranty plan» that is sold through them and repairs must be through them, which is basically worthless and pays out nothing. You can’t even get in touch with the «Corporation» because their automated answering service just tells you to call the dealer. This particular company has 1.1 stars with 48 reviews on Consumer Affairs:

Last September purchased a used camper that Albany RV listed in either good or great condition and the interior and exterior appearance supported that description. Did find a couple of water damaged areas before taking delivery but these are common to 10 year old campers and I have repaired several before.
As I peeled back the skin to fix, found that the rot was extensive. All four corners, parts of top and bottom plates, wall studs and parts of floor and roof decking are completely rotted; the screws that held the members together rusted away. Will require new roof ($$$) and hundreds of hours to make usable. As of 4/​26, found wood rot in front bedroom also extensive will replace studs, rafters and decking.
What happened to this camper? I suspect a accident (the rear corner had been rebuilt))tweaked the frame and compromised the unit’s weather integrity, someone attempted to refasten the top front edge trim with longer screws but as I found there was only rotted wood to fasten too.
Would be very very cautious in buying from Albany RV.

We purchased a 2012 Jayco trailer in July from Albany RV. We Used it for a camping trip within a week or so from picking it up and right away noticed the awning was broken and there was a leak in the water pump. We called and the earliest they could fit us in to look at it was October. We read a lot of negative reviews and thought oh boy here we go. Well the water pump leak was only a loose fitting which we fixed ourselves so it could be used but the awning we had to wait. The camper was dropped off and they had to review to see if they would cover it or not. We explained to them that it was parked too close to other trailers and they could not put it out for us to inspect so we did not know until we took it out. Well… I have to tell you they called and told us they were ordering the whole awning unit and would call when they came in. Within a few days they called to set up an appointment to bring it in the next day but we were not able to make it. So they sent two guys to the house and it looks beautiful!
Many people are very quick to write bad reviews but I just wanted to let people know it is not all bad. We would with no hesitation buy from them again.

Do not go to this dealer!
We came from out of state because we were assured by Tyler Baron, the salesperson, that he had the Jayco model pop-​up we wanted that had «never or rarely been opened.» Albany RV insisted on getting complete payment before we could come and pick up the camper even though we wanted to give final payment on the day we picked it up. We paid, and when we came to get it, it was evident during the demo and walk-​through that this camper had been out and open for ages. The dealer offered to have some parts replaced, and we agreed to take it home. Tyler Baron met with us and insisted that the things we saw were not unusual and that the camper had not, or barely, been opened.
When we camped in it that night, we noticed far more damage: extensive water damage, mold, broken water seals, and many other signs of a camper that had been left open in all weather for many, many months (see photos). We immediately contacted the dealer, shared photos taken within 12 hours of getting it home, and requested to return the camper for a refund. Because we had been told something that was patently false to get us to buy the camper, we felt «the right thing» would be for the dealer to apologize and buy it back, even giving us a credit on another camper.
Despite many calls and emails and photos, we have never heard once from Tyler, and we have had two phone calls, each saying that «they were reviewing and would get back to us.» But it has been weeks and they haven’t.
On their web site, Albany RV writes, «The difference we want our customer to know about us is that we aren’t just another dealer in the markets we do business in. We are a company deeply entrenched in the idea of never ending customer service and truly gaining a new family member with every sale. The best deal to us is one in which we feel we made a close friend and not just another buck like most other dealerships.»
Nothing could be further from the truth.
7÷21÷15 update — it took about a year, but Albany RV replaced many of the parts in our camper with factory new parts, using the camper warranty to do the work. While I think they should have taken the camper back, I felt that the service department, especially Steve Lohner, was a shining star in this uncaring, sales-​driven, organization. Steve was always polite, consistently responded to my queries as the months passed with our camper in his care, and worked with us every step of the way to try to make up for a deal that the sales team should never have made. In July of 2015, a year and a month after we purchased the camper, we were finally able to use it, to our great satisfaction!

I probably shouldn’t even give one star. We bought or blue ridge 5^th wheel from Albany Rv in Aaron June of 2013, and were very happy until we walked around and checked it out. Several small but annoying issue that were eventually taken care of, 6 months later. Now. A few weeks after our bumper to bumper warranty has run out we have noticed some more issues and they want nothing to do with it. Contact manufacturer is their reply. Customer service is definitely not their concern in the service department. Will never buy from there again.

We purchased a Pop-​Up from Albany RV. The prices are good, comparable to show prices, but they have terrible customer service. We’ve had some minor problems with our Rockwood Pop-​up, thankfully minor, but we’ve been completely on our own in repairing and replacing parts. You can’t even get parts from them when you’re willing to pay additional monies, they don’t return calls, they don’t have information on part numbers, and then they bounce you to Keller (their wholesaler) when they can’t find or complete your order. The folks from Keller try to help, but when they don’t have your order they can’t.
If you know exactly what you are buying, and have the know-​how to inspect before taking delivery it’s probably worth the price to buy from them. But if you’re new to RV-​ing and need any think you might need any kind of customer service buy from a show to get better pricing or pay a little more and go with a better dealer.

Purchased a used rv in 17 000.00 cash. A early November sale. Due to paperwork issues, wrong vin on title, we still can not drive our rv and looking at another few months of waiting. Their solution was to white out our transfer temporary plate and write in a new date, the solution offered is to break the law. Nick, out rep, suggested this and said sorry we will not extend or offer you a temporary plate. So we paid in full, didn’t get delivery till we threatened to back out of the deal and after months of sitting not able to drive it… months… Now it’s January, and he tells me to break the law. Buy elsewhere.

My Rockwood 5^th wheel purchase and trade-​in process went smoothly, but it’s all gone down hill from there. If you’re interested in follow-​up service, repairs, or warrantee work stay away from this dealership! This first year of ownership has been an amazing example of how NOT to treat customers…
It’s actually almost humorous; 17 unanswered calls over four months to get a leak fixed in the new unit. I Have to assume voicemails are either ignored, or just deleted altogether. The two times I actually got a woman on the phone I was left on hold and she never came back on!
Then, after several more months of unanswered calls re. a separate problem, bingo! The service dept. answered the phone! The service rep for my area promised a call back «in 24 hours» to schedule the appointment. Guess what — no call back!
Several more weeks and multiple messages later I get his service manager on he phone. He apologizes, and explains that they cannot keep up as they are selling too many units every month. If that’s the case, then why was I sold an extended warrantee package? Or better yet, how about hiring more people? Shortly after this, the service rep that never responded left me a voicemail apologizing. Okay, so maybe things are turning around…
Nope. The parts and repair that was ordered this summer are still «mia». Winter is approaching, sure would be nice to get his fixed before storage.
I don’t call anymore, I document everything with emails (as I may be forced to eventually take legal action). Interesting side note: I met the owner of an A class purchased at Albany RV this summer and he had the same nightmare stories as me. At least I’m not alone!
As I approach the one-​year anniversary of my beautiful trailer, I only wish I purchased it from a dealer that stands behind their service claims and warrantee contracts.
Should Albany RV ever make this right, I will amend this review.
