I stayed in this hotel for memorial day weekend in 2015. The price for the four days was a saving, which is why I didn’t think the hotel would be that nice. When I checked in the hotel staff was very welcoming. I entered my hotel room and was blown away withh how clean and tidy everything was. I had a great tv and it even had cable. The bathroom and shower were clean as well. They HAD breakfast every morning, and a little bar on their property that has food and a bar. The people at the bar and restaurant were so friendly, and the drinks were great. Everybody was so friendly. I checked out of the hotel on Tuesday and drove back to long island. As I unpacked I realized I left my phone charger in the room. I called the hotel to let them know, and they said they had it and could pick it up at anytime. I called my friend from albany and told her to get it and ship it to me but she said she couldn’t get a ride there. So I called the hotel to see if they could ship it b c i was already in long island, and they said okay. A few days later I recieved my phone charger still in tact and it works fine. I highly recommend this hotel and if I am ever in the area again I will definately stay there. Thank you lathem inn! And the WiFi was great too

Great value, much nicer than the competition, and friendly, helpful staff! My flight was delayed out of Albany until the next morning, so I figured I should get a bit of rest on a Sunday evening. Luckily the price was cheap and the location was great, less than 5 miles from the airport! Foolishly, I booked the wrong dates online on the drive to the hotel, and when I arrived, they couldn’t find my reservation(well duh, whoops!)… But they allowed me to switch the reservation with out a change fee, and not only that, they upgraded the room to a king! I’d definitely pick Latham Inn again if I’m back in the Albany area.

What you would call the Latham Inn could be described as a Motel 6, but not by much. Its a motel /inn, basic and relatively cheap in Latham, NY. My travels to upstate NY on a recent weekend trip has brought me here to Latham, NY and to the Latham Inn. What brought me to this particular property was that it was the cheapest in the area. I found this property on and for the price, it was pretty cheap. $ 74/night with taxes and fees was pretty darn good already! With the photos on Unilocal and on Priceline, I had decided to book it online. Truth be told, yes, it felt like being in a slightly better motel 6, with more comfort, ambiance, and just felt like home in a weird way. Definitely not like the Sheraton, but for the price, I wouldn’t have it any other way. The Latham Inn was suitable for my needs and I have stayed here for 2 nights from Thursday & Friday, 9⁄25&9⁄26 occupying room 211. The Latham Inn is located on 5XxX Watervalet Shaker Road(US-155) in Latham, NY. Right off the I-87 and exit 5, this comfortable inn can be one of those budget friendly properties that can be a great asset to you, if you don’t mind staying here. The Latham Inn is technically in the back of the long driveway, which is anchored by a restaurant bar that sits right in front. The property is dated, but the room I have gotten ain’t that bad, but it could use some updating to be sure. The property accepts credit cards, which is a good thing. I had booked this one on and they found my reservation okay. Only problem with my experience was that I arrived at night and I had to wait for the front desk person to return, which was like 10 minutes. 10 minutes I could use to do something else. Ugh. Still, everything else was in order. The room itself was nothing specular. Just your basic hotel room — modeled after a motel 6. It was clean for the most part and felt homely to some extent. The remote control didn’t really work properly, but I didn’t need to watch tv, when I had my iPhone. There is wifi here, but its kind of spotty, but there is a couple of hotspots around. The bed itself was surprisingly comfortable. I had gotten myself a king bed and it was pretty good. Somehow, the good night’s rest in a safe cheap property is just what is needed. The check out process was okay. A kid was manning the front desk the morning I checked out. It was awkward when I told the 9 year old I wanted to check out and have him my room key. After a short while, the father came out and formerly checked me out of the hotel. It was one of those things were weird is just random around these parts. There was plenty of parking here. There was loads of parking in between the restaurant /bar and more hotel parking in back of the hotel. No parking ticket given. My overall experience was an okay one. The only thing that irked me was that they had a small breakfast spread in the lobby area with a sign that said $ 3. That’s just weird and awkward. I know that there are better properties in the Latham or in Albany to stay in, but this was the cheapest I could find, without sacrificing safety and quality. I would recommend this one, just because it is affordable and clean. Other than that, if you want more bells and whistles, look elsewhere. This one serves its basic needs and has a good price for it. So I read other reviews of this place and come on you knew this wasn’t going to be the ritz carlton when you booked the room… it’s like going to Ihop for a steak and complaining when it sucks… you know what your geting… a semi cheap, CLEAN decent room… I’m in town on business and were pleasantly surprised by the room… fridge, microwave, cozy bug free bed… who really cares that the tv’s from 1990 and a RCA and the remote is a zenith… come on… and if your hungry or wanna get a few pops Phillys bar is basiclly in the front lot of the place… for the cash can’t be beat… I deducted 1 star cause they couldn’t find my reservation when I checked in and made me stand there while hodgie rifled through binders of papers till he realises it was right there on the desk, aside from that basiclly a good room!

Our 3 nite stay turned into 7 nights. The $ 59 rate was the best in the area. With Americade 60 miles up I-87 all of the other scumbag motels wanted $ 159. Thats why we stayed all week here in Latham and my sister lives 2 miles away. Clean room, quiet but the breakfast was lame. But for the price we will always stay here visiting the area. Wi-fi works great.
