Maestro Barbershop

Visited this place yesterday for the first time, and I’m not sure how I feel about it. I was in the area and wanted to get my haircut before going out later that evening. They were able to squeeze me in within the hour, which I appreciated. The inside was awesome, looked similar to a SportsClips– flat screen TV’s, sports décor and memorabilia, etc. The staff were friendly and welcoming.
I’m a male with a mohawk, clean shaven on the sides. The gentleman that cut my hair did a fantastic job. Clean lines, precision– everything that a mohawk cut should be. I have no complaints about the haircut itself. It’s what I wanted.
At the end of the cut, I asked if it would be possible to get a quick rinse as I would be going out later that evening and wouldn’t be able to stop home to shower. I was informed that their hot water was not currently working. I told them that this was totally fine– I just wanted the shaving cream off my scalp. So we went ahead and rinsed my hair.
I go to the register to pay. This is where my issue arises. A $ 3.00 rinse fee was tacked onto the price of my haircut. Three dollars?! For a 45-​second rinse in ice cold water without shampoo, conditioner, or any product whatsoever?! A salon has never once charged me for a simple rinse. This seemed unnecessarily greedy to me and left a bad taste in my mouth.
The cut I received was fine, but I can’t see myself returning after this stunt. The random rinse fee wasn’t acceptable or fair and I felt like I was being nickel-​dimed. Not the best first impression.

I’ve finally found my favourite barbershop. I’ve been getting my haircuts here for a couple of years now and I’ve never even thought about switching to a new one. You can get a haircut and watch your favourite sports teams play at the same time. The barber shop has a sports theme to it with football, hockey, basketball, and baseball jerseys and posters everywhere you look. There’s televisions showing sports 95% of the time in the waiting room and even when you’re getting a haircut.
Being a sports fan, the theme of the shop is not the only reason I like it. In my opinion the barbers there are not only friendly and welcoming but are experts when it comes to haircuts. They finish every haircut off just the way you ask for it, just the way you wanted it, and sometimes even better is what I think. My barber Mike in particular does an awesome job on haircuts. I would highly recommend to make an appointment with him, and if you do want to make an appointment for a cut there I would suggest to do it ahead of time before you go.
Maestro Barbershop would definitely be the major barbershop upgrade so it’s a great place to try out for a new haircut.

I took my son there to get his haircut for the first time at an actual barber shop. We had Travis do cut his hair. great experience Travis was very patient and made the cut perfect and precise. Its a nice environment and the price is fine:-) thank you! We already made our appointment for next month!

Best barber shop in Latham! Great ambiance, staff and price is very fair! Not to mention they cut very good!

After a few friends suggested this place to me I decided to try it out. The first time I walked in I was shocked, in a good way. I first noticed the sport theme in the shop, a first for me. There is a nice waiting area in the front with 2 or 3 tvs placed throughout (Usually sports are on) and in the back about 6 barber chairs. The place overall is clean, well designed, and had a good welcoming feel to it. All of the staff are friendly both on the phone and in person. My barber, Eric, in particular does a great job every time from start to finish, best haircuts and edge-​ups I’ve ever gotten to be honest. They know how to cut all types of hair black, white, Latino, you name it! Just a suggestion, if your thinking about going in I would make an appointment a day or two in advanced as its very popular and does get booked sometimes.
