Robert’s auto is dishonest and sells unreliable cars. The car was sold with a broken exhaust and needed a $ 900 repair two days after purchase. The burnt out light they agreed to fix when I purchased it was never fixed. When I called them, they said the light was replaced. Within the first year of ownership, the low mileage car has needed over $ 4,000 worth of repairs and premature maintenance. Their warranty covers almost nothing. Out of the $ 4,000, they would only cover $ 38 worth of repairs.

Paul Robert’s called me last week. Stated he will pay for some of the repairs but not all of them. Refuses to let Keeler do the repairs. States Johnny Torres never told me he would have Bridgestone Potenza tires put on the SUV, which is an outright LIE. They put Kmart special’s on the SUV = Ling Long cross wind HP’s, $ 49 a piece for a 17″ tire. When I told him my 1 yr Limited Warranty on the Engine and Trans, is not in effect, I asked him to sign a letter stating I had this coverage, and he REFUSED. He said, «I personally decide what gets repaired». That’s his reason for fraudulently providing customer’s with a written document stating we have this coverage, when really don’t. I previously filed a complaint with the AG’s office of Consumer Complaints which is what triggered his call. He told me the NYS AG’s office is TOTALLY USELESS and WILL DO NOTHING TO HELP YOU. In one breath he told me he is SMALL BUSINESS and has no funds for repairs like mine, $ 2500, and in the next breathe he said, «I spend MILLIONS AT KEELER BMW EACH YEAR». Which is it, Small business with no money, or he spends millions at Keeler each year? He was condescending and arrogant so I hung up. I have since filed add’l complaints with NYS DMV Dept of Safety and Complaints against both Robert’s Auto and D & S Auto Repair for letting this SUV pass inspection when it shouldn’t have due to a broken off rear coil strut spring. I have also filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission, «FTC», which oversee’s Used Cars Dealers 30−60−90 day Buyer s Guide Warranty and the 1 yr Limited Power train Warranty. The FTC recently kicked off a big sweep on Fraudulent Used Car Dealers in NYS, so the timing is perfect. I can’t recommend enough, to other consumers — to STAY AWAY from both of these companies. Robert’s and D & S are in cahoots with each other. One lies and the other swears by it, and they try to convince customers that the problems we find in our vehicles «must be your imagination, because we find it to be fine». D & S had my SUV 7 days during the first 21 days I owned it and FOUND ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG. Keeler had it 4 hrs and found major problems; oil filter seal leak, broken off rear coil strut spring (required for NYS Inspection), vapor barrier in rear window broken causing water to leak in SUV, insufficient battery — causing car to not start, shredded ground strap/​cable which holds the alternator and starter in place — which is malfunctioning on an already very weak battery — the SUV doesn’t want to start. Who do you think the State and Fed’s are going to believe? D & S Auto Repair and Robert’s Auto, OR Keeler BMW who has an OUTSTANDING reputation and who refuses to deal with Robert’s Auto because they don’t pay the insurance policy’s then refuse to pay for the repairs and Keeler got caught in the cross-​fire between Robert’s and the Customer. Same with Mavis Auto and Tire Warehouse. They too, have banned Robert’s from all of their locations for the very same reason. These guys sell cars «AS IS» which is illegal for Dealers, only an single person can sell a car as «AS IS». They are crooks, and if you happened to buy a auto that was in good condition from Robert’s — you GOT LUCKY, that’s all, the rest of us were not so lucky. They are CROOKS!

Sold me a car with a rotted frame. Cracked within the warranty time. Instead of making things right, i.e. trading it for a safe car of equal value, etc, they had welded it and gave it back. Needless to say, multiples trips to other mechanics to try and get my money’s worth out of it, it lasted 8 months and had to be taken off the road due to not being able to pass inspection. It should’ve never passed in the first place. And I’m still stuck paying off the loan. They are complete rip off artists. I would give minus stars if possible. Do not do business with them.

If I could give this business a zero star review, I would. I personally wouldn’t buy a wheelbarrow from these guys. They are incompetent, unprofessional, and unwilling to stand behind their product. My check engine light came on 2 days after purchase, and I have been having problems since.
The warranty is a joke — It needs to go to the dealer (Roberts), and they will only cover what they «feel» is covered regardless of what the powertrain warranty says. Their mechanic also damaged my vehicle and it took multiple attempts to repair one issue.
FURTHER, be advised that they ONLY buy other dealer’s trade-​ins. That means, at least in my case, I BOUGHT SOMEBODY ELSE’S PROBLEM.
Bottom line — There are many dealers. I would stick to either large dealerships or small (ONE OWNER-​PERSONAL) dealers.
Otherwise, you may end up in my unfortunate situation, with the business telling me to «go (bleep) myself, they are done doing business with me, and to never call their shop again.»

We recently bought a Murano here, the service was great, the price was competitive, and they gave us good money on our trade (older Murano). The cars they have on the lot are clean and well priced. Wael was easy to deal with/​knowledgeable and when we went to pick the car up, it was ready to go and we spent less than 10 mins on paperwork. I’ve purchased over 15 cars in the last 10 years and this was one of my better experiences

I bought my 2001 Cadillac Deville from Robert’s in February 2015. Since then, I have had to bring my car to their repair facility D&S Auto in COHOES (resident of Schenectady, work in Albany) 4 times! They have told me repeatedly there is nothing wrong with the car, but I get notifications that my coolant is low (couldn’t remove the coolant cap to check myself because it’s jammed, but they assured me I’m wrong and the coolant is fine) so I finally manage to get the coolant cover off, and go figure, the coolant is low. My windshield wipers didn’t even work less than 12 hours after getting the car, a valve stem was broken on a tire causing a slow leak that prevented the tire from taking any air when I tried to reinflate it, and there was NO OIL in my vehicle. I managed to convince them that it’s not in my head after the third visit and they finally repaired the coolant issue and windshield wipers. Pictures of the car notifications and video were necessary. I added oil myself, because why would my car I just purchased bother having the necessary oil it needs? Not long after all those issues, my check engine light goes on and the car’s RPM’s start going nuts while idling in park (video of this as well). I bring it back to D&S again (because it’s not being paid for by me if I go there, and only there) where they say they fixed the check engine issue and I should be all set. Go to today (just picked the car up yesterday for the engine issues) and on my 20 minute drive to work, shocker! THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES BACK ON! I am not happy with this dealership, with it’s mechanic, with it’s flippant attitude toward the issues on this car, and with their customer service. I shouldn’t have to bring my vehicle back in to their mechanic for the 5^th time since purchasing this car 2 months ago. I never recommend anyone ever go to this dealership unless it’s the only one left open, ever. I doubt that will ever happen, so if you do choose to go here… I warned you.

Paul Roberts is a man of his word! He will do what it takes to make every customer happy regardless of the problem

If you are thinking of going to Roberts Auto of Latham to buy a car, run away and run fast. The salesman was dishonest by telling me the car I purchased had bluetooth, and when I went to hook up my phone to the car, it would not work. I called Chrysler and they told me that the car was never equipped with Bluetooth. When I went back to the dealer to discuss installing bluetooth, I was told I had to pay $ 500 of my own money. the salesman lied to me in the beginning when I asked him point blank if the car was equipped with Bluetooth, he told me of course. Never shop there!!!

I went in to look for a newer vehicle for my wife, the had a great selection. They were extremely helpful and gave me a very fair trade in value for our exsisting car. They were also able to create good financing for me. After I had purchased the vehicle I realized there were a couple problems with the vehicle and with the car I purchased there was a 60 day parts and labor on the car. They had me take to their service garage and fixed all problems for me. I highly recommend this dealer, go see Johnny.

I recently traded in my Nissan Altima 2008 for a Nissan Murano 2007, we needed more room for our growing family. I have to say, my experience at Roberts was exceptional. They happened to be the first lot we stopped at to shop in person on the recommendation of a friend, and it was quickly clear that it was going to be our last.
Selling points:
1) Easy to shop and UP-​TO-​DATE online inventory listing. Had all the pertinent information for each car listed, and lots of photos in the cases of car makes we weren’t familiar with. Some of the other places we were browsing on-​line would have inventory listed that upon calling the next day would turn up as already sold 4 – 5 days prior.
2) Honest and straight-​forward! Brett Torre, the gentleman who helped us was able to advise us on directions to go in considering what kind of car we were looking for and what price range we were looking for it in from the get-​go. And then he gave us room to look around and do some research ourselves without pushing the issue! Originally we started looking for a Jeep Liberty but after considering what was available and what we could afford, it turned out of course that he was totally correct on how we changed our minds.
3) Trade in was easy. I’ve never traded in before but after doing some research online it seemed like we were going to have to spend the money to basically get the car detailed like a new car. Nope! Brett was able to see it, see it for what it was, and appraise it appropriately.
4) Very happy with the new Nissan Murano. Happy with the price we paid for it, how the car’s use has panned out, and our overall experience with the purchasing stuff at the end of the deal. I literally was able to use ID stuff that I already had on my person to put the deposit down, showed up with stuff for insurance and DMV switches on the day of pick-​up, and was ready to go!
If you know what you’re doing with car sales/​value/​mechanics/​etc then maybe these points don’t really matter as much to you. But if you’re not (like me), these attributes were INVALUABLE. It turned what I was expecting to be a grueling at least 2 week search into a two-​day experience. That in conjunction with not feeling skeeved out and or unsure if I was being taken advantage of and I feel that Roberts Auto Services are really a gem.

STAY AWAY! These guys ARE CROOKS. Unfortunately for me, it’s too late. I fell for the scam. Every car on their lot is a wreck. In fact, the owner used to have a large towing business called «Roberts Towing». NYS shut him down for committing fraud. Don’t take my word for it, look it up. Do yourself a favoe and STAY AWAY and tell your friends to as well!

If you a thinking about buying a car here RUN AWAY! These are the most dishonest people in the business. They give used car salesman a bad name.

Went in and they were extremely helpful. Answered all of my questions and beat the prices of all the local shops. Nicest guys too… Made me feel so welcome. I send all of my friends and family looking for cars to Roberts auto.

Great selection of cars. Couldn’t be better to deal with. Give them a try you won’t regret it.
