Dickey’s Bbq Pit

I ordered the two meat played with chicken, brisket, mac, and baked potato casserole. The chicken was fantastic! The brisket was decent but A LOT of fat. The mac was delicious and the casserole was decent. The roll was stale too.

Wow. This is the worst food I’ve ever tasted in my life!
I ordered the The Quarter Plate with 2 sides. I had the sliced beef brisket which half of it was purely fat. Side #1, fried okra, which was covered in sodium. I had to remove the coating so that I didn’t have to taste the salt. Side #2, green beans w/​bacon, which was enriched with sodium as well and had no bacon. I probably had 3 bites and couldn’t eat anymore.
The entire meal was inedible and had to throw it out. The worst $ 11 dollars spent!
On the positive, the female cashier was friendly. Otherwise, DO NOT attempt to come by unless your famished.

The meal was delicious the meat was so tender. The only thing I didn’t like was the mac n cheese I’m used to homemade Mac not cheese not kraft Mac n cheese. Other then that I had a good experience with Dickeys.

Twice this s weekend I have went in and NO ONE is serving. Waited five minutes on Saturday with no one behind the counter. Waited about two minutes today.

Im not thrilled about this location anymore, not sure if its a training issue or ignorance. I have purchased racks of ribs in the past, receiving a law enforcement discount. I called in my order today as I always do with a short lunch break. I went inside to pick up my food and nicely ask the gal ringing me up about the «law enforcement «discount. Her response was «what is that» really are you serious? This Dickeys is located right down the street form County Jail/​S/​O and Probation Dept. Then when I told her I have received the discount in the past she looked dumb founded. Needless to say no discount was applied and she never gave a second thought about charging full price. How can you not know what it is and you work in restaurants business. Its truly sad and most of all disappointing. I bet if she was being robbed she would know who we are. Yeh were the same folks!

Awesome customer service, work with Kim 5-​STAR service. My purse was stolen Saturday night, and I was calling in a (late) Family Meal Dinner for Thanksgiving, and I was unable to give her payment over the phone, since the thieves took everything. She was super sweet and let me place it anyways ! Had to work on Thanksgiving, so my husband prepared dinner for the family. Let me tell you… THE BEST MEAL … ever ! We ordered the Smoked Turkey, Dressing, Mashed potatoes, greens beans, and rolls… every part of the meal EXCELLENT! and the portions HUGE… when they say feeds 10 – 12 people, they aren’t joking. Great place to eat. Sunday’s are even better since kids eat free. And we all know kids are either hungry or pick at there food. So with it being free you don’t feel like they wasted all that food they didn’t eat. Had turkey. It was okay a little dry and the potato casserole had way to many green onions in it.

Don’t get me wrong, the food is good, really good. But I work 15 to 20 minutes from this place and have a very limited lunch time window. We order online which makes it convenient. Or it should. Unfortunately they almost always forget something. No tanglers for the smokehouse salad is the most common oversight. I’ve come to expect to need to remind them. Today they forget a side salad and any dressing. I call and the girl on the phone pauses and says oh… well did you want to come back for them? Uh… hello they’re paid for right? Sure let me waste another third of my lunch coming back. Not a single apology. No hey is there anything else we can do for you? I could understand if they were slammed busy but when I got there to pick up my order there was 1 other customer. Guess it’s time to find a different place to eat.

Wonderful BBQ, tasted like Texas BBQ would recommend to anyone, kids loved the free ice cream cone with purchase. Thanks dickeys

I love Dickies but this one was disappointing. I ordered half rack of ribs. Should I be happy when there is meat on 5 of the 6 ribs? Of course not. I showed them the end rib that had one bite of meat on it. They could have cared less. First time ever I’ve left a Dickies upset. Last time I stop at the one in Lathrop.

The beef brisket is VERY GOOD. Tender, falls apart and flavorful. Especially the end pieces! The baked beans are really good as well. Only reason it’s not 5 stars is because I’m not a huge fan of the potato salad and the rolls could be better. Hawaiian sweet rolls would top this off! Overall, very pleased and will most definitely be taking my family back. Free ice cream cones today were just what we needed!

Really really bad food at this location. First time coming in, prices were outrageous and the service was a joke. The food was magnificently horrendous! The brisket looked like it had been chewed up and spit out, was dry, and was ice cold. The sides were nasty as well and we went there at 6:00 in the evening. You would think that the food would be fresh since it was dinner time, but nope! Never again.

They must have a shortage on potatoes! Never fails «We only have 1 potato» are you rationing them. I guess only 1 potato per house hold. I live down the street but will be taking my money to the Manteca dickies! I have given this location try after try thinking maybe it will get better. For the over priced scimpy portions the potatoes are the only thing worth $ at this location if they even have them!

You can’t compare this place to the Modesto or Turlock Dickies.
Their meats were not very tasty. The pulled pork was very mushy. Their bisquits were very hard and their BBQ sauces were very runny, possibly to accommodate their dispensers. The ring leader wasn’t very pleasant and the workers seemed confused. We won’t returning to this particular establishment.

3 bbq sauces: original, spicy, sweet. I like original best, but the spicy is pretty good too. I’m a fried okra guy, reminds me of my childhood home. Dickey’s fried okra is pretty good. So far I’ve tried bbq chicken, ribs, brisket, baked potato casserole, baked beans… all good stuff for quick meal down home bbq. it’s a bit on the high side $$ for quick dining, but most bbq is in California

The food was delicious and fresh. The soft serve ice crème cone that was free was the icing on the cake.

First of all, free softserve is always a plus. Tonight was my first time into a Dickeys, and after I had ordered my food, I sat down to read the reviews to find out why they were so low. I ordered a two meat plate with brisket and turkey, and as I bit into it I began wondering if maybe I’m just not a barbecue snob and didn’t know the difference between good and bad BBQ. Both of my meats had flavor and were juicy, and I enjoyed what I had started to eat.
The sides I ordered were Mac and cheese, which looked pretty runny, but I have yet to bite into, and jalapeño beans.
As I am opening up my sides, one of the workers walks by with a can of Lysol and tells the tables we might not want to go in to the bathroom because she has an upset stomach but she’s taking the Lysol in with her… And to stay out for a while.
What the hell?! I was definitely done with my meal then. Packed it all up and just walked out. Hopefully I get my appetite back later tonight to figure out how those sides taste. That experience alone is what had me drop my rating from three stars to two.
Sweet tea… Not sweet.

I had a smokehouse salad. It was amazing.
The staff is nice and they have bargs root beer and free ice cream. Of course I had to make a Root beer float
They did mess up my order the first time I came but it was to my benefit and they got a lot better and more organized since then.

We today is my 10^th or more time here eating at this «family» owned and operated restaurant chain. Food 5 stars, service improved drastically & as of Today I give them 4−½. I have eaten Every meat & side available & all I 5 say is Fantastic.
I have eaten @ Dickey’s in Florida, South Carolina, & 2 other locations in California. The food is delicious but I admit without extra sauce some of the meat may be slightly dry. So they have extra available in 3 flavors.
I attended their pre-​opening the wait was very long because the Lathrop District (note not the City of Lathrop Chamber) Chamber of Commerce was there & in MY Opinion they took advantage of this couple’s generosity. Many after eating going back for 2^nd’s, 3^rd’s and in one case 5^th’s. They were walking out with shopping bags of FREE food. Too bad the owners’ did know this crowd doesn’t represent the good people of Lathrop.
I strongly recommend this Dickey’s. The owners are hardworking, friendly, local people.

NOT A CLEAN PLACE!!! the worker dropped the lid to the tea on the ground and she picked it up and put it back on it!!! It’s ok but not worth the money. Hillbilly BBQ is better! Not that much room for sitting! I wanted pulled pork but the guy was serving slop left over from the ends and is was all fatty crap. Sides are ok but it looks like it’s prepackaged and not fresh. Brisket was dry and cold the polish sausage was cold and not anything special. The sides were better than the meat.
