The Fireside Cocktails

Nice local whole in the wall bar. It has never been to crowded while I have been visiting but the bar tenders are friendly and playing pool is always fun.

So, we knew that we were going to be early arriving at a friend’s house and decided to stop at the Fireside. It was easy to find and easy parking. We went in and were inundated by the smell of smoke. Several «regulars» we’re smoking at the bar. I had two Grey Goose and 7-​up cocktails and she had a Tacate beer and then an Angry Orchard and a shot of Fireball. Some how the total was $ 35 and change. I’m not sure how what we ordered could come close to equaling that as in a «nice» place shot of Goose is $ 6. My two: = $ 12 plus a Tacate at $ 4.50 max, an Angry Orchard at $ 4.50 max and a super expensive shot of Fireball could only be $ 5 is only a total of $ 26. I think that either the bartender messed up the math or intentionally overcharged us. Either way, if you want to smell bad coming out and be overcharged by more than 35% then this is your place. Otherwise, I think that unless you’re a regular you can expect the same treatment.

Friday night My wife and I went to bar with some friends for a good time. Played pool, listened to music all was good until a brawl broke out. Having gone to this bar many times and as a homeowner it shouldn’t stop me. Yes bartenders are great! They have 2 pool tables, new hardwood floors and a recent paint job. Bar has a flexible smoking policy which is a plus. Back to my point… This bar has serious issues with fights and gangs. Perhaps if this bar instituted a dress code and had real security it may change the dynamic of the place. It’s a regular occurrence there so if you go there on a Friday night or Saturday be aware and be safe. I get they can’t eliminate all riff raff from happening but they sure as hell can calm it down before someone gets killed because by then it’ll be too late.
