Many times in life we only get one opportunity to impress someone. Unfortunately, Dimasi squandered their opportunity with me. The place is located in a hidden, older strip mall. It has a few tables inside along with a small amount of canned and refrigerated items from the Middle East. I immediately noticed various types of desserts including but not limited to baklava that I was intending to purchase after my meal. I ordered a chicken pita with hummus($ 6.95) and waited almost 25 minutes before it came out. Mind you, I was the only one there although there were 3 individuals that came in after me for to-go orders. When my order came out I noticed fries and not the hummus I ordered and advised the individual. He looked at me straight in the eye and stated«I didn’t hear you ask for hummus and I already made the fries.» I proceeded to tell him I don’t eat fries but he dismissed it and all he said was«I’m sorry» and left. As I sit here writing this review, I still cannot believe it. I pushed along and began to unwrap the sandwich from the wax paper it was covered with and found myself wrestling with several pieces that had obviously been baked or heated into the pita. Unsuccessful, the only remedy was to remove the pieces of pita. The chicken pita overall was ok. The vegetables were fresh and crunchy, I simply did not care for the taste of the chicken or of the sandwich in general. After finishing the sandwich, I got up to pay where I was asked by the same individual«how was everything?» I replied, «I wish I would have had the chance to taste the hummus.» His reply was«maybe next time.» I responded by telling him there would be no next time. Oh and by the way, I didn’t purchase any of the desserts either. It’s too bad as there was the potential for Dimasi to be my new«go to» place for desserts from that part of the world. I suppose, I will just continue to trek to South Beach to Epicure Market to satisfy my sweet tooth.

Love this place. The young Romanian girl behind the counter is wonderful! Love the sweets, coffee, and I always pick up something I’ve never tried from their grocery collection :)

The desserts we bought were really good but the guy that worked there was so unfriendly it was borderline scary!

I come here often for Pistachio Baklava and Turkish Coffee. Their Namura is another favorite of mine. It’s also a mini market full of Middle Eastern goodies, fresh Olives, and sandwiches. The staff is always friendly.

We come to South Florida once a year around the holidays. We just happened upon this place last year, and now we stop here whenever we come back to the area. They have several types of baklava and other pastries; rich Turkish coffee; and falafel and gyro sandwiches that are excellent. I’ve looked for better baklava and have yet to find it, save for my Greek ex-roommate’s great aunt’s loaves of baklava.
