Had a fantastic dinner. Flat iron steak was cooked to order. Samantha(our server) was excellent. Could not have asked for a better first experience at this restaurant. Would definitely recommend stopping by.

There is not a week that goes by that I don’t enjoy a delicious and creative meal from Abbott’s. As a resident of Laurel I am so honored to have such a inventive place to eat and gather with neighbors and friends! You will love it too, I’m sure!

Awesome place! Had the pumpkin gnocchi with duck confit — one of the best dishes I’ve ever had. Absolutely delicious. Tried the frog legs as well which were also great. This place was a wonderful find!

Loved it! Went with friend to lunch and had quesadilla with pork and hominy soup– delish! Will go back with family for dinner. Not as big a restaurant as I thought, but lovely outdoor seating!

The new Fall Menu came out tonight and it was hard to choose. I went with the tender Grilled Octopus for a starter. The Lentil Vinaigrette was laced with Truffle Oil which pulled everything together. My plate went back to the kitchen with hardly a Lentil left. For an entrée, I chose the Beer Braised Pork Chop mainly because it was served on a bed of Smoked Ham Hock Jus, Mom Mom’s Collards and White Beans. Perfection. I am betting that Chef Ryan Cunningham sourced his flavorful Pork Chop from Haas in Dover. I am thinking about going through this whole menu. But I know along the way, Bernie, Sam, or Barbara will tempt me astray with their nightly specials. Laurel is so lucky to have Abbott’s on Broad Creek.

By far the best place to get a great meal in Western Sussex, Chef Ryan and his team focus on local and seasonal ingredients with a constantly changing menu. They work to reinvent local favorites like Chicken and Dumplings and Oyster Sandwiches, plus incorporate regional ingredients such as scrapple and seasonal produce into the menu. The menu changes enough that it is hard to make recommendations but some of the outstanding dishes I have had here are the aforementioned Chicken and Dumplings, Fish and Chips, and Pan Fried Trout. The beer list also has a local focus, featuring beers from Dogfish Head, Evolution Brewing, and Misipillion Brewing regularly. The staff is always friendly and attentive without being obtrusive. The dessert menu also changes to reflect the seasons — be sure to get the bread pudding when it is on the menu! Easy to find with plenty of parking. I am grateful to have a restaurant like this close to home.

Great food and friendly staff! Try the calamari you won’t be disappointed. Chef Ryan Cunningham focuses on local ingredients sourced from some of the best small farms like the Colvine Farms bison and Mon Reve Farms lamb and Goat Cheese. Everything in the restaurant is made in house from the bread to the homemade ice creams.

The service was excellent and the food was good. However, since the kitchen is open to the dining room the cooks do not practice any cleanest practices they do not wear gloves when preparing food and they move from area to area. They are touching their faces and hair then handle food. They should be wearing gloves and hair nets at minimum. I find their practices a total turn off.

I have been here a few times. Each time being seperated by about 6 months or so… and I get frustrated after leaving every time. There is something about Abbots I cant put my finger on. Its to… to. confusing, no fru fru. No maybe its that they are creating dishes that are not that comforting, not in a dinner way confort, but a great resturant dish way. Are they trying for fine dinning, or American pub feel, I guessing there own thing. When you look at the starters and you just want a good dip, cheese board, nachos, or wings with a wet sause you wont find it here. When they have great craft brews on tap and you just want those type of starters I just get frustrated, but I have to say there food is good and hit and miss. Some of the combos on the menu may sound good but they just dont mesh. Example being the calamari with brown butter and blue cheese. Its been on the menu since my first visit but maybe its time to retire it. If you fry something adding fatty butter drizzeled on top plus blue cheese for the tang it makes it muddeled and soggy. Maybe keep the frying crisp, and make a blue cheese sause to dip. Nice place. guess I’ll try again in another 6 months, maybe. What is the definition of insanity?

Fabulous casual restaurant. Homemade spinach chips and red pepper hummus, we had meatloaf sandwich and grilled shrimp and avocado with sunny side egg. Pot de crème with candied nuts, strawberries and whipped crème was amazing for dessert. Great friendly service too!

Heard about this place at lunch. The parking is easy, the atmosphere was a clean contemporary style. Staffing was friendly and very good with the menu items, menu was excellent variety and the specials for a Tuesday night were great. We had two of the specials and three menu items, stuffed chicken thighs and a cheeseburger off the menu, both were good. The specials were grilled ahi tuna and a chicken breast. The meals were plated very well with fresh vegetables. cooked just right. Very nice experience, the pricing was perfect. Truly a joy for the taste buds and light on the wallet on a pleasant atmosphere.

We made our first visit to Abbott’s last Friday evening. We heard many good things about it from friends, so our expectations were pretty high. We were not disappointed. Yes, their menu is limited. You will not find 100 different entrees like Cheesecake Factory or many Mexican and Chinese places. Instead, you find around 20 or so that are well prepared and nothing like you’d find on any chain restaurant’s menu. It was a busy night, and there was no place to sit in the main dining area. So, the restaurant opened their events room and started seating people in there. Nice touch, and very flexible. The prices are a little higher than others, but not terrible. The food, though, was outstanding. Appetizers, entrée, and dessert, and nobody out of our party of six left the table unhappy, disappointed, or hungry. We will be back.

I know Laurel. My dad used to live there but I live in Richmond VA. I’ve always considered the restaurant scene in this area to be a major problem. Greasy spoon diners are more the norm unfortunately. But this restaurant has a great location, great menu with interesting selections(bison burger, lobster Mac and cheese, frog legs, grilled salmon, etc.) in addition to more traditional fare. The staff was friendly and helpful. The place is clean and well decorated. Most of all, the food was great. What a phenomenal addition to the local area.

Happy Hour $ 1 oysters out of this world good!!! Unfortunately it’s a bit quiet being the only patron. I decided on a few items instead of just an entrée. All entrees including the specials sounded delicious. My «small» garden salad for $ 3 was an amazing bargain. Probably local mixed greens with some cool and distinct toppings like slivered watermelon radish and beets. Nice! Brisket sandwich, named after Briscoe Bros I’m told, is both tangy and has a little kick. On a pretzel roll and perfect. Everything is a great bargain considering the amount of food and flavor and quality here. A totally satisfying experience. Michelle was the perfect bartender, explaining the history of the restaurant, knowing all about the food and making tremendous suggestions. Thanks Michelle! Funny thing is the only thing I was going to complain about was a subjective music opinion. The 50s and 60s kitschy classics made me feel young in an old crowd, although there was no crowd, until To Sir With Love came on. Love that song, not sure why, but the movie was seen by me when young and just love that song! Finally, everyone super nice there and the ginger waitress could certainly pull off Ginger! Happy early Halloween castaways.

First time at Abbott’s On Broad Creek last night. Excellent all the way around. We had Salmon, Yankee Pot Roast, the Broadcreek Seafood Stew, and Roasted Quail. Our server, Bernie, was also top notch. We will certainly return.

My wife and I ate at Abbott’s on Broad Creek last night. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. My wife had the Cajun Meatloaf with mashed potatoes and root vegetables. I had one of the specials. Shepherds Pie. It was the best I have ever had. It was made with lamb and melted in my mouth. The service was excellent and the atmosphere comfortable. Looking forward to our next visit.
