Bottom Dollar

This store is now a Food Lion, so Unilocal needs to make that update. The staff is typically friendly and helpful. I have purchased expired sandwich ham from there once, and it made me sick. I don’t really like buying all of my groceries from here, just a few items that don’t expire (ie. toilet paper, cleaning products/​tools, soaps, etc.).

I never heard of Bottom Dollar until 2 weeks ago, no commercials or sale paper in my mailbox. I heard this grocery store chain is a sister store to Food Lion, which I’m not a big fan of. Visited this location on a early Saturday morning, parking lot was near empty, I started to get a little apprehensive, grabbed a cart anyway and walked inside. I will have to disagree with one of the reviews mentioned here about a funny smell, the store was very, very clean no sour smell. Produce section clean, well kept, sale prices are easy to find, they have name brand and store brand items. Very helpful staff, nice size store not too small and compact. I noticed that this store was set up like Food Lion, they didn’t have a large variety like Giant and Safeway BUT this is not a complete turn off. You have to pay for bags or they have boxes to carry out your groceries. I really didn’t care for the whole leaving with groceries in a box idea. Comparing this store to Save a lot, it depends on your wants, if you have to have name brand products go to Bottom Dollar but if you don’t mind off brand (like myself) and want to save even MORE money go to Save a lot. Yes, you have to bag your own groceries at both stores. But the bags at Save a lot are more durable and you can reuse the bags if need be. Not a bad store, plenty of sales, clean environment, helpful staff. PLENTY of parking.

Now this is the place to go for a quick & easy stop & shop. I’ve never had any problem here, the staffs always helpful & courteous. They always have fresh produce & prices can’t be beat by any one. Be sure to pick up a Bottom Dollar card to save even more money.

OK, walked in and maybe 50 or 60 steps in to the store. Had to turn around and leave because it smelled like pee. I am not getting food in a place that smells like a men’s room.
