Fowl Play Sports Bar and Casino

We live here in Laurel and this place is no better after re-​opening. We had been here before and figured we would give it a try after new management took over — deeply disappointed. The service was sassy, slow and not helpful with a major attitude. The pizza was burnt, had literally no cheese and barely any toppings and the wings were barely edible (we ended up actually tossing them). For paying that much money, I expect way better service and food.

This place is new, and while I’d like to give it the benefit of the doubt, there are a few reasons why our first trip would be the last.
First, if you are going to call yourself a wing place, don’t serve full wings. It just isn’t practical. The reason every other wing place serves flats and drumettes separate is because the first thing the customer has to do is separate them to eat the wing. That’s a lot easier to do when they aren’t slathered in sauce, as my wife demonstrated when one slipped from her hands and narrowly missed her lap on the way to the floor. And the points are meatless, so if you’re charging the same for six full wings as other places are charging for twleve flats/​drumettes, you’re not offering anything of additional value.
Second, if you manage the place, manage — let your servers serve. The middle-​aged guy who waited on us routinely had to come back to get us to repeat our drink and food orders then *got them wrong*. That was when he wasn’t altogether ignoring my wife or watching the TVs. Also, when I order a beer, it doesn’t matter what beer I just had, it matters what I just told you I wanted. He seemed preoccupied with the fact I asked for a different beer after my first. Buddy: that happens.
But not as often when you only have five taps, and two of them are belgian wheats and the other three are light beer. Seriously: terrible beer selection overall.
The positives are limited. The wings, despite being difficult to handle, tasted good and were cooked to order (which was clear when they took over 30 minutes to arrive). The seating was comfortable and there was plenty of room. But to me, the sports bar up the street does every aspect better: food, beer selection, service, atmosphere.

I stopped in last night to try the wings. I am very picky when it comes to wings and I hadn’t found a decent one in Montana. These are great. Large and meaty with the thinnest and most flavorful batter. I ordered them extra crispy to go. The only negative was the sweet chili sauce. Just not my thing. I will go for regular buffalo next time… there will be a next time.

What a great place for wings and pizza. Friendly owners and staff, always accommodating. Can’t wait to get back to Billings to get more of the best wings I have ever had.

There are wings… and then there are these wings. Absolutely unbelievable flavor and quantity. I’m not even a huge fan of wings, and will come back again and again for these. They’re really on to something over there.
Pizza is excellent as well. The bacon pizza had a really good bite to it which I love.
Drinks are reasonably priced, and staff was attentive and pleasant.
Will definitely be back!

Had a stop over in Billings and this place came highly recommended. Had a group of about 10 who feasted on the best Wings and Pizza this side of,. well hell, the best I’ve come across period… Seems everything is newly remodeled and in talking to the owner they have invested heavily in new décor and equipment to make sure they are serving the best food available and it shows… The wings were HUGE! We’re not talking little things here where you need to eat a bucket to say you had something to snack on, the things were near the size of drumsticks (careful with the hot, they kick). Pizza, FUGATABOUT it… You are going to eat two and take one home with you. A beautiful thin crust with inventive toppings that aren’t faddish (if thats a word) but which make for amazing flavor… Couldn’t have had a better evening, go or regret missing it…

Had a great night with friends. Pizza and wings are awesome! Friendly staff. What else can be said. Great place. I will be back.

I was in Montana visiting a friend. I was starving after the long drive. When I saw there was a line out the door to be seated for dinner I knew it was going to be good. The pizza was awesome.
I talked to one of the Managers, Jerry and he said they just opened. They have remodeled the place. Got a new cook. He said they have great plans for this place. This place is going to be one of those hidden gems.
Definately coming back the next time Im in Montana. Good luck to the new owners.
