I would give it 1.5 stars. I went on a Sunday evening around 7 – 8 pm. Many of the foods did not look fresh, including some of the fruit and the raw fish of their sushi. Some of their raw oysters some had a stinky taste to them as if they were old or spoiled. Their lemons looked and felt old or slightly spoiled(they were soft). This one had less variety for their sushi bar and possibly items in general than the buffet on route 198 in Laurel called Grand E Buffet. Their lobster had too much batter on them and the meat was dry. I wonder if they reuse many of the food that is not eaten and use substitutions for some of their food(such as any of the raw fish and calamari) thereby lieing to their customers. The floor needed to be cleaned at this Teppanyaki place. I had a slight stomach ache after eating some of the oysters, but am not sure if they were the cause. I hope the health department inspects these buffets on a regular basis for sanitary conditions and spoiled food. It was also dirty and trash was falling out of their trash can outside of their restaurant. I don’t think I will come here again unless everything is improved.

Not a big fan of buffet but because the in-law live closer so I gave a try twice. But… Both times was horrible Food experience not impressed, taste bad really BAD Other experienced First time, there’s was a group of people(look like tourists people) took pictures inside a buffet! Took pictures? Buffet??? Well… I was trying to avoid as much as I could BUT it still happened! While I was putting crawfish on my plate, there was a lady with a camera took a picture of my plate(very creepy) than she start to grab it from mine to her plate and speak Chinese to me(you’re pregnant you can’t eat that, I will eat for you!) I WASLIKE… Second time, It had been a long time but I’m still kinda freaking out after my first experience. But because of the in-law, I decided to give it another shot. WELL… I guess I can’t fit in with this place ATALL! Why in the world is that some of the people that go there is so weird! This time I’m pregnant with my second baby, I pick a food at Hibachi and I’m standing there and wait until mine is done. I took it and one old lady come and yell at me: Excuse me, this is my plate I left it for him to cook and I went to my table, why did you take mine?(well, I’m not that hungry to the point that I didn’t know which is mine, since there was only me with the plate while the guy cooked for me and ask me how to I like it to be cook?) After all experienced, I swear to god that I’ll never come back to this place again not even drive pass by!

The thing that sets this place apart from the rest of the buffets you see near the area is the price. This buffet has pretty much the same offerings of all the others in a ten mile radius, but it is one or two dollars cheaper. There is rarely a line, which makes the wait from payment to seating very minimal. The host/hostess at the front could use a few smiling lessons, but other than that, «check in» is quite fast. The food is typical of buffets in the area. The best food I’ve had from here would have to be from the grill. Most other buffets that have a teppanyaki often taste bland and the food is more times than not, overcooked. The chefs who run the grill here rarely overcook the meat and add enough sauce to make every bite flavorful and satisfying. One thing I didn’t enjoy were the muscles. They looked okay on the outside, but you do get a bit of shell/sand every now any then. One time, I bit into a baby crab that was hiding in the meat of the muscle, which took me for quite the surprise. All in all, you really can’t beat this buffet in terms of price, however, they could offer one or two things different every now any then, and they could also work on making non-neutral facial expressions at the front.

Have been here before, but probably won’t go again, or at least not for a very long time. This place does a have a huge buffet with a lot of variety and even a Mongolian BBQ section(that one section rates 5 stars). But honestly the clientele leaves a lot to be desired(people sticking their noses under the sneeze guards and other things you really don’t want to think about related to the food you’re gonna eat). The wait staff is pretty friendly and does keep your drinks full. But the place also smells of … old. That old building moldy/mildewy smell. We discussed it, not knowing if it is the building, the people, the food, or some pretty disgusting combination of all three. Convenient, and not bad for a maybe-once-a-year cheap and decent buffet. But personally that’s all I can take.

Good food, cheap price and a lot of choices. Seafood, beef, grill, fruit and dessert. Dessert is not good, but everything else is good. Very convenient place to dine out, and shopping places around.

Excellent value! $ 12.99 for a weekend dinner buffet. Unilocal checkin for an additional $ 2 off. A ton of variety. Unless you’re in Vegas or some fancy casino, it really doesn’t get that much better than this. Not everything was great but there’s something for everyone. It was definitely better than expected. Dishes to try. Whole steamed Maryland blue crab, fried shrimp, lobster with garlic and ginger sauce, crawfish boil, baked scallops, steamed clams. So, cooked seafood was definitely the highlight. Dishes to avoid. Anything sushi, it just wasn’t good at all.

I’m really confused by why the ratings for this place are so low. Is the food here healthy and high-quality? No, but that’s a given with these types of places so I don’t think anyone should come here realistically expecting it to be. I’m personally not a big fan of Asian-style buffets like these and actually try to avoid them whenever possible but for the sake of objectivity and fairness, Teppanyaki is easily better than similar types of buffets I’ve been to. Décor/ambience: The inside is really clean and has a modern, vibrant feel. The seating and buffet areas are pretty spacious so you don’t have a lot of people cluttered together. Service: Most of it is self-served but the waitresses made regular rounds to collect finished plates and to provide drinks so everything ran pretty smoothly. Food: The variety of food here was exceptional. The selection of fruits was surprisingly large(kiwi, lychee, pineapple, what have you) and most fruits appeared to be fresh. I didn’t try any of the cakes, but they also looked surprisingly good and delicious. I had some of their ice cream and it was on-point. The sushi also looked and tasted surprisingly good. For the fried foods, the selection ranges from Western classics like pigs-in-a-blanket and mac-n-cheese to Asian cuisines like Chinese and Thai food. Even though most of the food was fried, I definitely took note of how little oil there was and how solid the textures were throughout. If Asian buffets aren’t your thing, it’s understandable if you don’t want to go here. However, if you are looking for quantity-for-price or happen to be roped into this like I was, just know that the experience you’ll be getting is far better than the standards of other Asian buffets.

Food quality is decent for a buffet. The«hibachi» grill is legit. The hibachi itself is worth the full price of the dinner buffet. And the sugar donuts are to die for. I could eat a plate of hibachi and the donuts and feel like I got my money’s worth here.

The food was not good, and I will not be going back again. It’s definitely worth the money to go elsewhere. The food didn’t taste fresh and I was honestly afraid to eat there. There’s a weird smell soon as you walk into the restaurant. Thanks but no thanks.

Well, this seems to be the typical story for these type of places. They open and the place is clean, service is good, food is good. Fast forward years later and… nightmare. It is dirty inside, service is not good seems that they are trying to push you out to get new Customers in. The food… absolutely horrible, everything was over salted. Some items(fried calamari) was inedible. They veggie in the Chinese if you looked were old and had brown spots. It was an ok place when it opened a few years ago, but after years of parading people in there they seem to not care about customers, the food quality or being in business in the near future.

I love Teppanyaki! If you go during the lunch hour the pricing is cheaper. The food is good! My favorite is the Habachi grill where you can choose your own raw food and they will cook the food on the grill the way you like it. There is enough tables and seat for loads of people. I love the booths for a more private setting for family or a date. Its a buffet and you know most buffets suck. I think this place goes over the buffet expectations. :-)

DON’T EATHEREIFYOUDON’T WANTTOBESICK. I only gave one star because you can not give none. Made a plate from the hibachi grill, sat down to eat it and found mixed inside the food a molded rotten piece of chicken, called the manager over who tried to be quiet about the situation, showed him the chicken and he says let me refund your money come to the front. That was it, no apology no expression, nothing. Took our money and left, will never, never return. Will upload picture soon.

The food is not that great. When I went to the bathroom to wash my hands; my waitress walked out of the stall & straight out the door. Didn’t even stop to wash her hands. I lost my appetite after seeing that.

Not sure why so many 1-star reviews here; the place is nice and clean, food is average Chinese buffet food, selection is pretty good. Not the best buffet I’ve been to but far from the worst out there. The regular Chinese dishes — your string beans, mushrooms, shrimp, chicken, beef broccoli, fried squid, dumplings, rangoons, etc., is all there and is all pretty tasty, except the broccoli tasted a little old. The«prime rib» as always is overcooked but pretty tender(I’m pretty sure it’s actually slow-cooked pot roast), they also have ribs, whole fish in sauce, and salt and pepper shrimp, which looked tasty but I didn’t get to. Then there’s the hibachi and sushi bar. The sushi is decent and they have tilapia and tuna sashimi which is nice and pretty fresh, as well as salmon and tilapia nigiri. I wish they had a couple more types of actual sushi though; the rest is just various combinations and permutations of the California roll. Oysters too, which are rather bland but were fresh and tasty enough, and no food poisoning! Unlike so many of these places, the service is what actually stood out, and that’s the fourth star, because the food is just a three. I had the sweetest waitress ever at one of these places — might have been Lindy, not sure her name — but I wanted to mention her because she was attentive and each time she came by asked if I was done and always smiling. Usually, the servers at these places barely look at you if they even come by your table. The price is also right — $ 10 with a coupon for dinner and I think lunch is $ 7 or $ 8. I wouldn’t mind paying maybe $ 12 for a better sushi selection but you could do much worse, and for a Chinese buffet, that’s pretty good.

Wasn’t impressed with the good here at all. They needed to do a better job cleaning up. Specially the salad bar area was messy, salad dressings all blending into one another from customers cross contaminating. Had to wait a bit for the grill to cook food and once it was served wasn’t crazy about the quality of the meats. But fair enough that the pricing is pretty cheap too smh

Won’t be going back … The food wasn’t great, and the«party room» where we were seated had a terrible smell. When I was almost done eating, I saw a mouse running past our table. I couldn’t get out of there fast enough. This was definitely my first and last time at this place. Yuck!

I love it here! They have a nice salad bar. The only thing is that I wish they would change out their buffet menu items regularly but they don’t, is always the same things every day. The food quality is good for what you pay for. They have a large selection of food. Everything seems fresh.

My First and Last time at Teppanyaki Grill. My family took me there for my birthday after bowling. We walked in and in error went straight to the sign«Wait here to be Seated». The young lady informed us we had to pay first. We shifted to another line — where the young lady looked swamped. She was handling the guest in front of me and other guest coming in to be seated. Once we got to the counter — there was no greeting like«Welcome to Tepp…». I noticed prices were NOT listed for customers dining in. The young lady could have been making up the prices. I had to ask twice about prices for children. The only receipt I received was my credit card receipt, I didn’t receive a receipt itemizing what I paid for. We were then taking by another young lady to the back — again no pleasant greeting. We got to the back and were seated. Another young lady came and requested our drink choices — I still don’t know her name. Once when watching a Kitchen Nightmare episode — Chef Ramsey said«if the guest can cook better than you — then why should they come to your restaurant». I felt the same way about Teppanyaki. The food deserved a 2. The fried chicken and shrimp was pink on the inside, the salmon was horrible, forget the mac n cheese, the pizza was burnt, the desert areas was a mess. The one layer cakes looked like my 6 year old baked it. The staff was not very cordial. I have to say the young lady was very swift in clearing our plates and asking about refills. I did enjoy the fried donuts. The fortune cookies giving at the end were stale. If you have a good palet for food this is not the establishment. If my family opened a restaurant we would back out the place compared to T. Grill food. It would have been better to take the $ 100 spent and go to Chic Fil A — at least we know the food would be fresh, great customer service and a clean environment. I will not be returning to Teppanyaki Grill.

I’m torn between giving Teppanyaki Grill three stars or four stars, but since the buffet is suffering from a great deal of negative reviews, I’ll give them a four. You have to set your expectations properly when eating here. You are eating at a Chinese buffet; do not expect the staff to come by every five minutes to clear up plates and refill your drinks. When I went around 1:30pm, the place was PACKED. Literally every table was filled up; the staff was rushing everywhere trying to seat people, clear tables, and refill the empty stations. The staff doesn’t have time to answer all your questions, so I understand how some customers may be disgusted by the service. The buffet is decorated quite nicely, with good lighting/music and all. There is a great variety of food for anyone to enjoy, including a sushi bar, hibachi grill, seafood, fresh meat of all kinds(both American and Chinese). The fruit bar had all types of fruits and the dessert bar had an assortments of cakes, pudding, cookies, etc. I took a small slice of every type of cake there and they were all delicious, especially the chocolate one. The ice cream station has ~8 flavors, which is a nice change from the typical vanilla/chocolate ice cream. Some of the dishes may not seem appetizing, but give them a try! I was pleasantly surprised by how some dishes tasted compared to how it looked. I’m definitely a fan of this buffet, and recommend this place to anyone in the area.

We came here about two years ago and said — «not coming here again». The place they sat us had a funny smell. I think it was a wet carpet and it smelled bad and trying to eat wasn’t that pleasant. So we gave it another chance. First of, ask what the price is during lunch — because we came here during the weekend thinking it’ll be less than $ 10 for lunch and it was close to our house– but for two people at lunch time(around 1pm) it was $ 28 and we just ordered water as our drinks and one hot tea. We even looked around for a price on the walls and didn’t see one. Because we were hungry, we just paid. It is a clean place and welcoming. It has a big entrance lobby and an organized process to control those who need to pay and who needs to be seated. Ambience, floors and tables were clean but the chairs need some care because there are a lot of ripped seats. There is also a big boat in the middle of the floor that has the fruits, salads, and cold dishes displayed. They have sushi being made, habachi grill you can get your fried rice or lo mein made, ice cream tubs in a cooler you can scoop yourself and 4 stations of hot food. Even with all that mentioned, I felt I was missing what you usually can get at a buffet place– esp not for $ 14+ a person for lunch. The salt and pepper shrimp with the head on was always out and hardly refilled — the only way I knew they had some was on someone else’s plate. I did like their calamari — it wasn’t crispy but it was tasty. They had oysters, but that was also not refilled and the ones I had were kind of slimey(those of you that eat oysters know what I mean). They had crawfish and small light crabs — but again, they weren’t refilled often and it wasn’t even packed with people. None of the food really stood out to me and there was still a slight smell on the carpet in the same room we sat in before. I’ll give them the cleanliness and the service wasn’t bad… but for the second time to come here and still leave with the«not coming back here again» afterthought, must mean something.

I came here for lunch and I believe it was $ 7.50 which is pretty good considering it’s all you can eat, it’s really clean and nicely decorated inside. We were seated by a gentlemen on his cell phone who just directed us toward a booth and tossed down our silverware, and walked off, I went to get high chairs for my children on my own. The waitresses don’t smile and they’re definitely not friendly but it’s a buffet, the idea is to get you in and out, so I get it. The buffet is displayed very nicely and the food is kept fresh and hot, even the sushi section is nice, and the selection of rolls are interesting, mostly crab and cream cheese based. The sushi/sashimi options are few. I like the fruit and dessert display, they have whole cakes out and a lot of fresh cut fruit and jello, there’s also an ice cream section. Overall it’s worth a try, nothing too special, but it’s fast and cheap and it has all the basics you’d expect from a Chinese buffet. I did not try the teppanyaki but it looked really nice. And I saw several private seating areas that are perfect for parties.

Hooray! I was last here and was put off by the high noise/music level. I decided to give the place another try because I have had many previous enjoyable eating experiences. We’ll, the time we arrived about 14:00, well after the lunch crowd. The greeter offered«Table Seating» instead of «Booth Seating» and we accepted table seating. It was a good choice: the table seating was located in a dining room north of the main area, and in that dining room the sound was off !. The food was typically good. I found a number of enjoyable sushi items that were NOT covered in spicy mayonnaise, and I enjoyed them. My wife found the«Fried Whiting Filets» which were fresh and hot. Overall, an enjoyable experience. To make a long story short — it was an enjoyable eating experience, with quiet and comfortable circumstances… I commend the management on toning down the loud piped-in music.

Bring a vomit bag in tow, because you’re going to need it. This Teppanyucki(yes, yucky) Grill has emerged in the location of what was once one of the staples of Laurel, The Greene Turtle. It has crawled from a murky cesspool, bringing along what I can only describe as swamp food. My first inclination that this place was not so great was the spectacle of design of this«restaurant»(it hurts to even call it that). A large fish tank, streaming water – all there to distract you about the fact that you’re eating food that’s fit for the bottom of a dumpster. The area I sat in smelled like mildew and mold – similar to what another reviewer said. So, not only does the food taste like sweaty gym socks, but the restaurant smells like it too! What a treat. If you’ve been to any other major«Chinese» buffet, this is all going to look pretty similar – except the fact that the owners have slapped«Teppankyaki» in front of it to capitalize off of the Benihana and Sakura name. They have sushi, which tastes like garbage. The meat is obviously cheap – extremely fatty doused in sodium laden sauce to mask it. How the heck do you screw up rice? Ask the chefs at Teppanyaki Supreme Buffet and I’m sure they’ll be glad to show you. They have those sugar coated donuts, random American food which tastes like they stole it from Cactus Willie’s, another Laurel«favorite» that has luckily left. Word of advice: if the restaurant can’t spell the name of the food correctly, don’t eat it. Ex: Glaric Shrimp. I tried a few items, and then tried them again later that day, if you get my gist. I would suspect that most of the idiots that go here(yes, idiots – this parking lot is always packed) think that they are eating real Japanese food – I don’t see how that’s possible though. The restaurant claims to serve American, Italian, Japanese, Chinese and Thai. What I see is food sitting in disgusting sauces under hot lamps – weird frankenstein creations that only someone who really hates humans(or animals) would create. UPDATE10÷16÷11: To reviewer Cy G.: Interesting. Nothing in this review talks about buffets specifically – everything is pretty much specific to this place. The fact of the matter is that there are better choices in Laurel that won’t well, make you ill. UPDATE12÷21÷11: As an update, I’m pretty sure that the guest I took here on the day of this review got diagnosed with Giardia after eating here – and I’ve also heard numerous stories of people in the Laurel area getting food poisoning from here. Avoid at all costs.

This is by far the best Chinese buffet I have ever been to. Here’s a few reasons why: 1. BANGFORYOURBUCK: Lunch time buffet at about 8 $ and dinner time at about 11 $– you can’t beat that price(if you want a soft drink or other beverage it’s an extra 2 $) 2. HIBACHI: The hibachi grill is TDF(to die for) The grill master is always on point with quick service and an excellent tasting dish(don’t forget to add the YUMYUM sauce to your hibachi plate!) 3. VARIETY: Great selection of all kinds of fresh and delicious food, including the sushi bar. 4. ENVIRONMENT: A great atmosphere with nice lighting — perfect for dates, friendly outings, family dinners, or even dining alone. I go here quite often and highly recommend it. Enjoy!

This is a nice option for buffet lovers. It is an Asian/Seafood based buffet. Plenty of seafood options with some surprises«Treasure Shrimp, Baked clams.» I visited the Laurel location on 6÷15÷2014 for Father’s Day because nothing rocks my dad’s socks more than a smörgåsbord of food for a good cheap price of about $ 14, seafood to boot! When you walk in, the ambience is set with low neon lighting and a streamlined water fall wall for décor. Most of the seating is booth styled, which makes it hard to get up for more helpings. Chairs and tables are in the party room for large parties(8+). The«american» dishes available are fried chicken, chicken nuggets, salad and mac and cheese. Most of the food is tasty with the exception of the mystery foods a la the Treasure shrimp. There is a nice selection of sushi rolls and there is a habachi grill. The line for the habachi grill is long! There is also a cold bar with the desserts, fruit and some cold seafood items(crab legs, shrimp cocktail, etc.) This area seems slower to replenish the food items. I was disappointed that there were no scallops to be found. I didn’t ask a staff member, but on my multiple trips, i didn’t see any. There’s also icecream and a chocolant fondue fountain with strawberries and marshmallows. The staff were all direct and quick moving. Dont expect warm and friendly personalities. They get the job done. With all that said, I DONOTLIKEBUFFETS! I may, however, do a brunch buffet. The sight of seeing any and everyone over my food, licking fingers, children handling food unsupervised… grosses me out. I never have an appetite fitting for a buffet, so I don’t go. The kids loved it as well as my dad and other family members.
