I don’t have experience with other funeral homes in the area, so I have nothing to compare to this experience. We went to Wellman for my grandmother’s final arrangements. Our service was in Laurelville but we had our meeting at the Circleville location. The guy running the meeting, I think he was one of the sons in the business, was nice enough but was actually kind of cocky and somewhat condescending. Also, after we told him that my grandmother was a state of Ohio employee, he went into this completely inappropriate political rant about how he agreed with the Tea Party and that unions needed to go. It was shocking and appalling, and made me absolutely furious. If I had been the one in charge I would have walked out, but my mom was running the show and she told me to let it go(even though she, along with EVERYONE else in the room, was a union worker and we were all offended.) The service itself was nice, they made really nice photo collages to hand out and they played a DVD of photos before and after the actual service that everyone enjoyed. The facility was clean and modestly decorated. One other weird negative was that the water in the bathrooms and the kitchen area smelled AWFUL, it smelled like raw sewage and people were gagging from it. What the heck? Keep your political opinions to yourself and do something about that stinky water. Other than that, nice service, pretty decorations, no problems getting death certificates or transferring life insurance to them.
