We also used Reaves for our daughters engraved wedding invitations. They also did everything right, on time with no problems at an affordable price. Most importantly, as we were dealing from a distance, they handled my somewhat anxious telephone calls with grace and solved several technical difficulties easily.

We used Reave’s for my engraved daughter’s wedding invitations, a custom drawn location map card, and engraved note cards. They did everything exactly right, on time and with no problems whatsoever, and at ½ the price of places in the very expensive city I live in. We could not have afforded engraved invitations locally(I checked) and I was thrilled to find Reave’s online, and they could do exactly what we wanted. I’m about to order some more engraved stationery, we were so happy with our experience.

The experience with Reaves was a nightmare. Wedding invitations are supposed to be easy, fun and exciting to design and receive. Reaves killed all the happiness and enjoyment of this process. Negative stars would be the best rating for Reaves Engraving. I had used this company for over 41 years… 4 weddings and countless social stationery orders have been placed. They do not accept American Express for a reason — you have no recourse when the order is not fulfilled to the customer’s satisfaction. My order took over 2 ½ months to receive. The engraving is not top quality. The paper size is not as advertised. This paper size issue caused problems with the custom calligraphy fit. My order was over $ 1600.00. Communication was attentive until I paid… then there were excuses upon excuses, and just vacant«sorry for the trouble with your order». The quality control is almost non existent. Just know this is a second rate, discount printer. Beware.

The pricing was much more reasonable than any other stationer I found, and the order process went pretty smoothly. It took about a month between when I first contacted them to receiving the finished product. On request, they sent us about 20 samples(which I have already passed on to another bride-to-be!). My fiancé and I enjoyed designing our own invites. They had some modern looking letterpress samples but we ended up going w/a classic style thermography set using black and gold because it fit our theme. We received great customer service from the company reps, especially Barbara. And most importantly, we love our invitations!

Great budget option for letterpress invitations. When I started looking at local Seattle stationers, I was seeing quotes of more than $ 400 for a 1-colour invitation card(envelopes, response cards and response envelopes were a few hundred dollars extra) with local companies. I’m so glad that I found Reaves Engraving in the Bridal Bargains book. Their package for a 2-colour, heavy card stock wedding invitation with inner and outer envelopes, RSVP card, RSVP envelope and directions/info card worked out to be just over $ 410! Your invitations won’t be 100% custom and will be more classic than modern/whimsical so if you have your heart set on a very specific look and feel, this might not be the route for you. I was flexible on our invitations’ look and with the huge savings, I didn’t mind classic/traditional invitations. I appreciate the little touches: Reaves Engraving gave us the letterpress plates used to make our invitation suite — bonus souvenir. We called before the template was finalized and made a couple of alterations to our invitation design and the modifications were included in our order. The customer service was so accommodating and gracious and made some great suggestions on the wording of our invitations. Our invitations even arrived a couple of days early. It was a pleasure to deal with Reaves and I would use them again in a heartbeat for any of my future stationery needs. My cousin loved our invites and is using Reaves for her own wedding this summer!

The cheapest paper I have ever encountered! I was running low on my stock of thermographed letters and embossed informals, so I went online to find an engraver. I ordered what I thought would be a decent weight bond. While thermography wasn’t available, I figured an embossed set would work just fine. Wrong. Horrid. Absolutely horrid. I might as well have run off some notes on my computer. In fact, they would have turned out better because I would have had the sense to use a quality paper. Don’t go near this establishment unless you want junk.

Reaves was the source of one of the worst customer experiences I have ever had with anyone selling any product of any kind. Unilocal possibly did not exist when they botched my wedding invitations, but I still get angry thinking about it 11 years later. When UPS initially lost the order, Reaves refused to reprint the order or to speak with UPS, even though UPS could have been billed for the expense. When the invitations finally arrived two weeks late, they were laced with typos and misspellings, inserted by the dingbats who work there. They didn’t even print the right state on the return envelopes. They then refused to send a rush reprint or to offer any kind of a discount for their incompetence. We had to use the cards, with hand-drawn corrections, due to the time constraints. To cap it all off, the credit card company wouldn’t let me refuse the charges because we had gone ahead and used the product they sent. These people do not deserve to be in business. I can’t believe they still exist. Patronize them at your peril.

I used Reaves Engraving for my wedding invitations and was very very happy with the results. I found out about Reaves through a book called Bridal Bargins — and using Reaves was a great value. I got engraved invitations for a fraction of the prices I’d seen elsewhere. Most importantly, service(both via phone and email) and quality were top notch. The BEST thing, however, is that for a $ 1, they will address your envelopes(inner and outer) with a computerized calligraphy pen! There are lots of styles of font to choose from — they have a video demo of how it works on their website which is neat. But having that service was a HUGE time saver and the envelopes looked GREAT! That service alone(for that price!) was worth using Reaves(I believe they will do envelopes for other invitations(not ordered from them) for an additional charge). I highly recommend Reaves, especially if you are going for a more«classic» look(but I do believe they have some more«modern» options too).
