Great place for a cheap(and good) breakfast. The staff is always friendly. Been going there for years.

Foods good but this is the second time I’ve been here and both times service has been slow. 30m for breakfast is a stretch.

We go her 2 – 3 times per month and the food is always fresh, high quality and we receive good service. Every time we order soup it is delicious! The prices are extremely reasonable.

Visited this place on a Sunday afternoon around 1pm with guests. We seated ourselves and the Unfriendly waitress deposited menus on the table. She took our drink order and 5 minutes later returned with the drinks and to take our order. My guests ordered Bacon Cheese Burgers and fries, my wife ordered a Hot Turkey Sandwich and I tried the«Hi Way Chicken Sandwich». All of us ordered Beef Barley soup which tasted homemade but it was more carrots and potatoes than beef. My guests’ burgers were done to their liking. The Hot Turkey Sandwich had Real sliced turkey, canned gravy over a mound of partially stale white bread. The mashed potatoes where watery and tasted like boxed. My sandwich was OK but you could tell the chicken breast was frozen since it was a little watery. Swiss cheese, a lettuce leaf, slice of tomato and mayo accompanied the sandwich. They could have been more generous with the fries. My biggest complaint: one of the waitresses started an old vacuum cleaner and vacuumed the rug next to us while we were eating! I said to her«you’ve got to be kidding» she ignored me, but after 2 minutes she stopped. Halfway through our meal, the Unfriendly waitress deposited the check on the table and disappeared. She never came back and asked us how everything was, if we wanted more to drink, if we wanted any dessert or coffee. I guess The Hi Way doesn’t need or want any business. By the way, both restrooms smelled like vomit and urine. Maybe it’s the food? We don’t plan on returning. Be careful parking and getting out of your vehicle! Busy Route 145 is right behind you!

I eat here most Sunday mornings. Nice service, good food, great pancakes! I love this place but have but one axe to grind… what’s up with the ultra crappy static filled radio there? Either get satellite radio or give it up, and mount the speakers, don’t let them bounce around above the caulking tiles. Wow folks, mot an expensive move to make.

I lived nearby the Hi Way Restaurant for years and have given them many opportunities for my business. Needless to say, I have no problem with never going back. I’m surprised this establishment is still in business, the staff is rude and constantly rude. The food is tasteless and on several occasions cold. Not many other options directly nearby, but worth driving the extra 5 minutes to Whitehall for a better meal.

I’ve lived in the area for over 15 years and routinely dine at the Hi-Way Restaurant. The patrons consist of a nice mix of friendly locals and some travelers(it’s located off of Highway Route 145, which leads north to a ski resort and south to Allentown among other areas). I(and especially my family) have come to know the waitstaff well over the years. All-in-all everyone is very friendly. The restaurant owners are two brothers who are very hands-on(they work pretty long hours). Both are friendly. An interesting fact, I believe the Restaurant began years ago as an ice cream stand(or was it fruit?) and then expanded into the now restaurant. Several years ago it received an interior upgrade and is very clean. Now the best part– the food! The food is very reasonably priced, and the menu is fairly diverse for a diner. There are typically always specials(often in the form of whole meals) which are very filling. Honestly I’ve never really had anything there that wasn’t good, but following are some personal favorites: Their soups are excellent, particularly the cream of broccoli and the seafood chowder. Their breakfasts are wonderful, especially the omelets(I like their ham and mozzarella cheese omelets). If you’re stopping in for lunch, I enjoy the Tuna Sandwich on Rye. And their milkshakes are wonderful. Finally, their pies are delicious(our family frequently orders them for get-togethers). All-in-all it’s a wonderful place to dine– highly recommend it. Oh, and the owners recently purchased Prime in Bethlehem(off of Stoke Park Rd I believe) — it was previously the Steak and Ale. I have yet to eat there, but I heard it’s basically like Steak and Ale(but slightly better). Friends and family say the food is wonderful– I’ll have to check it out.
