Vee Quiva Hotel & Casino

Living in Phoenix, I’ve tried all of the local casinos. My personal experience, and others certainly have different experiences, is that Vee Quiva (VQ) has the worse pay-​outs and smallest number of options for a gambler than any other area casino.
One measure of pay-​out is how Video Poker plays. Although the house cannot change the odds of hitting certain hands, they can alter the payback. ‘Traditional’ Vegas payouts were 9 credits for a full house and 8 for a flush. This provides a 98.3% pay-​out. VQ uses 6/​5, which is a 95% payout (Jacks or better). This is one of the lowest in the industry, and virtually ensures a loss for an evening of play.
I don’t have statistics on other machines, but my own experience was low payouts on what, in other casinos, were decent winnings. In addition, there are not a lot of options for Slot Machines, and a very small number of tables open for dealer based gaming.
Outside of the poor pay-​outs, and the relatively remote location with ridiculously low posted road speeds (35MPH on an open country road), VQ is clean with some decent restaurant options.
However, I go to a casino to gamble, not eat, so I won’t take my business to VQ any longer.

I normally love this casino but the perks from sitting at tables has drastically decreased and they stopped using the automatic toilet seat covers in restrooms (one of my old favorite perks!). Bathrooms near players club were filthy! But we love bartender Julie and dealer Tom! Awesome crew but if we keep losing $$ like this and not at least getting free plays well be going by somewhere else for sure!

Great place for our Spring Training trips. Amenities, location, price. It’s all great. We stay here every time.

Pros — Hotel staff and & check in is wonderful. Friendly staff and quick check-​in. Rooms are comfortable and clean.
Cons — Poor drink service. Never saw a drink cart in two days. Casino seems to have some locals that always ask if I could spare a $ 1. I have never been hit up for money so many times before. Very crowed on the weekends. A lot of people sitting at the machines not playing but watching a friend play. When I asked if they are playing the machine they would say yes…

The manager of the Panda Express there should be ashamed of himself for being called a manager, running a business that is ALWAYS understaffed causing major time delays in food being served to customers. If you want to spend time standing in long lines for food you will not be disappointed here cause it happens on a daily basis.

Not happy with any of the service. Valet is non-​existent, Bad service at front desk @ check-​in, iPad radio missing power cord (had to request from front desk-​annoying), had to request and pay for sub-​par refrigerator and microwave, uncomfortable bed.
As for the room quality, love the design, nice TV, colorful bathroom (very low water pressure in shower).
Aside from those things, it was a peaceful stay.

Stayed here for 2 nights. The price was very good however here are some of the goods and bads.
The casino:
The slots are good and tables are mostly open but you hardly find a server for a drink. Played 1 hour at the blackjack table till someone asked for my order. (Had to pay for the drink unlike most casinos that alcoholic beverages are free) they have a really good food court as well with fat burger? Panda express and dunkin donut.
The hotel:
Well the room was clean and nice but it wasn’t good. Why? Well first the TV would show a black screen every 2 minutes. (Annoying). Second bad bad bad wifi! They share one wifi for both the casino and hotel. My laptop couldn’t even load Google!!! Third, no one could call our room. Every time it went straight to voice mail and they did nothing to help. Last but not least you only get signals of you have Verizon. Anything else your cellphone is useless.
Probably won’t stay here again unless I have switched to Verizon and brought my own Hotspot!

Had previously gone to the new Desert Diamond Casino near Glendale and was not happy there. We are from Vegas and were in town for a hockey game. Our ticket stub showed $ 10 free play at the Vee Quiva so we decided to check it out. Kind of misleading when traveling on the 101 as it advertises signs to take the exit and the place is right there. In fact, you exit, and it’s about 8 miles south of the 101 through a sketchy industrial area. The place is at the far south end tucked away behind the mountains. Once inside, pretty decent sized place with actual slot machines you see in Vegas, not these strange ones I’ve never heard of before. Games like Buffalo, Buffalo Stampede, Multi Hit Triple Time progressives, Pompeii, etc… If it were not for the drive, we would have gone twice, but it was quite a ways from where we stayed, especially that drive home at 130am. :(
My only gripe is the drink service. We were there for 2 hours and saw one server attending to the table game players. We went to the center bar and asked for water and about if they had cocktail waitresses, and he said yes. Shocked, we told him we didn’t see anyone on the floor the entire 2 hours we were there. Maybe they had 1 person working because of what time we were there, but it was still fairly busy during that time. We drank two cups of water while chatting with the man who was friendly as well.

OK. So we tried to give him one more chance at the Café at Vee Quiva. The West Valley is so in need of a Casino that has at least a little class See the pics of my disgusting Meat Loaf and my Wife’s Baby Back Ribs that were so tough she had to send them back. Even after they took them back and cooked them more they were still terrible. Manager came over to see how things were and I mentioned that I took pics and would be putting them on Unilocal.He said that’s OK we’re used to it so just goes to show they really don’t care. Even though it was a free dinner from comps we will not even take a free dinner at this dump.

Check in staff great, rooms very nice. Vegas style casino with a great and well run poker room.

A while ago we decided to go to a concert in AZ and take a quick weekend trip. We found this hotel on
. We really enjoyed it! We could eat, gamble and be out of Vegas. The décor was current and the rooms were great for the price, beyond great! My only complaint… I wish you they had more bingo sessions in a day ! We will def go back.

We had a good time until a lady came in tried to steal a chair, even though we had been there for 3 hours the bartender pretended to know nothing! She was being tipped good — what a waste! Security wanted to ask us to

This place is a lot better then it was before. And that should tell you how bad it was then!
They have added much needed space. Upgraded to look a lot better. Pretty much updated slots, and decent restaurants in the casino.
Now the smoking in this place is really bad. Seems to be worst then other casino. So be ready to smell like a ash try when you get home. The people attracted here are also different. Like everyone spending their unemployment or disability checks? Just a different breed. We come here because it’s the only west valley casino.

Dropped by and was really impressed by the place. I usually go to Talking Stick in Scottsdale so I thought that this place would not be up to par with Talking Stick. I was wrong. Attractive Fire and water features on the outside, clean inside, active casino. Light smoke scent but not too overwhelming.
Friendly environment with a nice Food court. Lots of choices. Go there!

Hotel: 5 stars all the way! We had an efficient check-​in process — the whole transaction took about 4 minutes. Plus, the clerk was polite so that’s a plus. The room was incredible. It had a huge TV, lots of floor space, great décor, and very comfortable beds. The pillows were almost TOO fluffy. It was clean and well kept with a large bathroom and plenty of toiletries. The shower was a bit «meh» due to the lack of hot water but it’s a desert after all.
Now, I’ve been in many casinos in my life — some good and some bad. This one is pretty mid ground with definite pluses and minuses on both sides. First, the biggest minus is the sketchy clientele. I’ve never seen so many people stare for no good reason. Folks were just hanging out and not even playing the games. Please do not sit at a slot machine if you aren’t playing. There’s a limited number of machines so don’t hog them all! Ugh — that was annoying.
The bar at the center of the casino is top notch. Not only do they have a great selection of booze but they also have a heavy hand when it comes to pours. Moreover, the drinks are cheap, cheap, cheap! There was hardly a wait for cocktails and then they were strong as all get out! I approve.
I like that there are multiple food options as well. There is Ditka’s restaurant, Panda Express, a small sandwich place, and a few other quick order businesses for all your dining needs. They aren’t open 24 hours but still, I appreciate the options.
There’s a possibility I could spend a couple of days enjoying this place. Sure, it’s in the middle of nowhere but that means there’s plenty of room for parking. It’s like an oasis of fun! All in all I’m very impressed with this place and I would for sure come back!

Brand new casino on the edge of Laveen. It’s got a nice layout so very easy to get around.
It has a food court with Panda Express, FatBurger, Dunkin donuts, and a Mexican restaurant. It also has a steakhouse, Ditka’s Steakhouse. And lastly a café that’s open 24 hours a day.
Parking is very convenient a lot of good planning was put into that.
I always enjoy going to this casino. It’s a good atmosphere and very modern.
They run a calendar of events with entertainment and different events.

This is solely a review of the casino.
Simply: This is where dreams go to die. Last gasps of hope seep out of mouths with few teeth. The yellow tombstones chatter and clank against carcinogenic objects of choice, while gray eyes haze against the fading glitter of dilated irises.
Bodies are slumped against the adult video games. A day’s work given to a machine promising a way out. The gorey glory of it all. The air is stale and I’m sure I’ve stepped in gum.
The longer I stay the more my throat burns. I don’t know if it’s the grape vapors being pumped in through the vents or the cigarettes. Either way I know it’s seeping into my pores, and my clothes. At least I feel an ego boost in my casual garb.
I plan my escape.
When I finally make it back out to the parking garage, the mountains are high and the moon is low. This is my only favorable experience.
I reek when I get home.

I was extremely hesitant when I found out this was our destination to watch the two playoff games for the 2015 Superbowl.
I am glad I didn’t pay too much attention to all the negative reviews: THIS PLACE ROCKS!
Its a bit loud and the staff is not the most up to date on how to properly use a P.A. system… but i survived.
I recommend the sports lounge located smack dab in the center of the casino. It was sexy hot and cozy… a good make out session was in progress but after being seated you could hardly tell :-D
A little ways off the beaten path but worth the drive.
Side note… its referred to as Gila River Casino, too.

It’s hard to argue against what others have said about the experience at VeeQuiva casino.
The 5-​player $ 2 video blackjack machine was broken: dealing cards when you selected to STAY, not paying out winnings on occasion and failing to ask everyone playing if they wanted to buy insurance when the dealer had an ace. The manager was quick to give a couple of us $ 5 on our players cards but still not a good experience.
Then at the actual blackjack table, the dealer was having a back-​and-​forth, sometimes animated, discussion with the pit boss about someone parking too close to him and that he had «no choice» (to do whatever he did.) The dealer then left for about 10 minutes before returning.
And the smoking was bad. I haven’t smelled like that after a night out in years. There apparently is a non-​smoking area but according to the wife it was very small and the selection if games within we’re bad.
Ditka’s was real nice though.

I am not what most people would consider a «big gambler» not even when I go to Vegas. However, I have been wanting to visit Vee Quiva for quite some time and I am so glad I did because I had a great time.
My friends and I ate at Ditka’s. We had the Prime Rib (Very tasty). Ditka’s restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere and the service is excellent.
Ditka’s fine dining offers happy hour prices starting at 5 PM in the bar, $ 3 beer/​wine and $ 5 martini’s. Most of the appetizers are also happy hour priced at mere $ 5.00. We enjoyed filet magnon sliders, calamari, and pot roast nachos.
Vee Quiva has a ²⁴⁄₇ café/​restaurant with a great $ 4 breakfast served all the time. Vee Quiva has a nice pool, beautiful rooms, giant flat screen TV’s in each room, covered parking, lots of slots, table games, and a food court with Dunkin Donuts, Fat Burger, Panda Express, Mexican tortas.
So If your ever in the area you should stop by.
