This provably one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in the Redondo/Lawndale area, excellent service good food and the coldest beer in the South Bay, I come here and always walk out satisfied, you can’t go wrong with the carne asada plate or the #1 enchilada and taco plate …

We go here every year for my dad’s birthday — it’s a tradition. Leo’s is an institution in this neighborhood and I hope it never leaves. The food is solid and they have really good margaritas. Service is really good. Good for larger groups(10 – 15). It’s clean and portion sizes are big. Give Leo’s a try!

Had their carne asada burrito and it was the plainest burrito I ever had. Plus their asada was not good. Where are the onions, cilantro, lime juice, beans, and rice most Mexican places put in their burritos to add flavor depth? I’m giving it 3 stars because I should still try out more dishes before I give up on this place.

I guess you can not trust Unilocal 100% of the time. This place seemed promising but nope not authentic at all the salsa tastes like picante pace from a jar… The service well i had to flag someone down to order and to get a refill And to get a fork and to get the check. Nothing tasted authentic at all and we all got stomach ache everything was flavorless. Will Not return

Love this place. My family has been going here for 10+ years. We’ve never left dissatisfied. The service has always been great and the food always so good. I love the chile Rellenos and their wet burritos(which are huge). I also have became a major fan of their Albondigas soup lately. It’s perfect and hits the spot everytime.

Leo’s has really good Nachos. Everytime I have been there, the restaurant was empty. And the service was slow, not sure why. But the food is exactly what you’re paying for.

Food is very tasty. Prices are fairly reasonable. It’s a bit loud inside if it’s crowded. Patio is nice. Staff is friendly. There usually isn’t too much of a wait. Definitely recommend their chili relleno!

Been going here for years. The food is always so good. Very consistent. We live in San Diego now but whenever we pass by on the 405 we just have to stop. If you want to be really naughty, order the cheese chips. I’m not sure why people are saying the service is bad, I’ve always had excellent service. Seems like the same girls have been there forever… Lettie is a fav.

I haven’t been to Leo’s Mexican Food for years! Awhile back I set up a little welcome lunch for a coworker joining our department here but since then I haven’t been back. Fast forward to a couple years later, I found myself once again at Leo’s Mexcian food with once again some coworkers. Since it had been such a long time since I’ve been here, I couldn’t remember what the food offerings were and went to Unilocal to see what people like. It seemed that Chili Rellano was a popular choice for many and I chose to get the Chili Rellano with ground beef, Poblano Delano. When I got my dish, I noticed right away how generous the restaurant was with the ground beef. There was lots of ground beef with the chili rellano. I liked that a lot. It’s always nice to see a restaurant that is not skimpy on their meat portion. Tastewise it was ok but nothing too extraordinary. It could use a little more flavoring, perhaps a bit more spice. Though my Poblando Delano was a little bit on the bland side, overall the meal here was ok. The portion was good and price wise very decent. This place is not bad for a lunch out with coworkers or friends.

If we are craving authentic Mexican food and want to stay in the neighborhood, we will definitely be coming here! Staff are super friendly and attentive, and the portions are huge so easily two meals in one. I ordered the mixed fajita plate and my husband had the steak. Both delcious and came with guacamole! Also the salsa is addicting, good sign right?

I require a service animal, and I have always been accommodated in other establishments with kindness & compassion. That is decidedly NOT how I was treated by their manager(owner?) yesterday. The man was amazingly rude to me, demanded to be shown paperwork(which I did, though he personally had no legal right to ask). The only way this was resolved was when I asked if he’d prefer for me to call the police, so that he could explain to them why he was denying my service dog, and why he & the establishment were failing to comply with the ADA(Americans with Disabilities Act). He finally relented. By that time he’d destroyed the atmosphere for me & my 2 guest(1 of which was my 93 year old step mother in her wheelchair, the other her caregiver). I will never return, and if you have any manner of disability, I strongly suggest that you steer clear as well. On the plus side, the wait staff was most pleasant.

Been coming here my whole life, now my son is coming in here. The food is amazing, heavy but amazing. We come in about 3 times a week. Hands down my favorite restaurant, Mexican or otherwise.

An authentic Mexican restaurant, it’s also my sister and her bf’s favorite Mexican joint, I think meat dishes are their specialties, they make very good meats, very well marinated and so flavorful according to sister, she especially likes the pork dinner entrée. The fajita beef with cheese is pretty good too. I have tried fish tacos and garlic sautéed shrimps, fish tacos were delicious, loved the minced garlic, but the shrimps were overcooked the other day. They make very tasty rice and beans, but I try not to eat too much beans with cheese, I get super bloated after eating that. Guacamole is very fresh and yummy too. Overall this is a decent Mexican restaurant, portions are huge for what they charge, so if you love meats and hungry much, this is a nice spot for authentic Mexican food!

This place and I go back all the way to my childhood, when my mother and father brought me here to eat on weekends. Throughout the years, I’ve come to eat here at many milestones in my life. Today, I came here for my late lunch. I drove up, and there was a surplus of parking spots. When I walked in, there was only one group of people seated on a round table. I sat at a table in the middle, and the waitress/hostess promptly brought me a menu. I ordered the fajitas with chicken, beef, and shrimp. While waiting, I got some chips and salsa. The salsa was somewhat spicy and good, but the chips weren’t anything special. The food didn’t take long to arrive. I immediately dug in. The chicken, beef, and shrimp tasted pretty good. They were on a skillet with plenty of veggies. The rice and guacamole could use some improvement, as they were too bland in taste. The baked beans tasted as they should. I docked one star for the bland taste. But overall, I got a good meal and received great customer service.

I don’t eat meat so perhaps have not tried the best of Leo’s. The veggie supreme burrito is huge and okay tasting. Margaritas are large and okay as well. The flan is small and okay – tastes more caramely than usual. Service is good.

Another local Lawndale spot. My mom loves their food. I wouldn’t call it authentic exactly but it’s good. I really like their rice… It’s very flavorful and tastes like someone’s mom just made it on the stove. which was really surprising to me. I usually just get one tacos rice and beans. If you’re craving gringo-esque Mexican food hit this place up. Big portions too.

I’ve been coming to Leo’s since I was a kid, and it never disappoints. This is hands down the best Mexican food I have ever encountered, and with great service too! Every meal starts out with a couple of baskets of home-made chips and salsa. The salsa is to die for. It has the perfect mix of chunkiness, spice, and liquid. My favorite dish is the #17 combination, which is a tamale and enchilada with rice and beans. The sauce that covers the enchilada and tamale is characteristic of Southern Californian Mexican food: red and peppery and not overly meaty or cheesy. The plate is always hot so watch out! I wish that there were more Leo’s restaurants out there but alas this is the only one. But it keeps me coming back!
