I’m so sad that they closed shop for good. I LOVED their wet burritos. We’ve been going to Poblanita since I was in elementary, I’m in college now. I am so hurt, I cannot believe it, feels like I loss a piece of my heart lol. Since closing, I’ve tried 2 places burritos and they were disgusting. I hope I can find another«Poblanita». Thankfully I got to try them 2 days before they closed shop, I wish they would’ve told me they were gonna close because I would’ve bought extras and froze it . Now all I have is Ramona, which is good, but no Poblanita.

They are closed!!! Been coming here for years and it was by far my favorite Mexican spot! Getting five stars for that! Will miss my favorite cheese/beef enchiladas.

This place is awesome! I always get their wet burrito or carnitas enchilada plate. Chips and salsa come free with the meal and it’s tasty! This location is pretty convenient being right next to the Pep Boys. There’s lots of ample parking in the lot and service is good here too. Every time I come out in this area, I’m always thinking of this place. Only thing is, they don’t accept credit cards so be sure to bring cash with you!

First of all lets just get this out there. I’m white. And skinny. So my opinion on Mexican food might not carry much weight. But… I love this place. They cook up my whitey style tacos like magic. And never got my picky order wrong. Wet chicken burrito is huge and I like the sauce. It’s my favorite around. So you might think it sucks but the lady there loves me and always gives me a ton of salsa and chips extra. You can look at retro and new video games next door at Cali games while your order is being prepared. Five stars on customer service alone and the food is great. My go to place around the 90260

This place has been around forever… And I have come here many times since I was a kid. Not four stars in terms of food per se but it is a consistent place with nice owners. Food is similar to Leo’s or el Tarasco. Not the best food but it’s somewhere I go for a specific taste if that makes sense. Ive only really tried the burritos and some combos. They give you salsa and chips with your order. Also they customize your meal without question. Once I wanted a bean rice and cheese burrito with chopped serranos… No problem. Last time I went I got a burrito de asada with guac and they sautéed the meat with chopped serranos for me… yummmmm. Good food for a good price. Something you have to be close to and in the mood for.

Straightforward, like-home-made Mexican food. Crispy tacos are filled with your choice of meat, cheese, lettuce and tomato, and taste fresh. Nothing unexpected crosses your palate. Their burritos are made to order and the kitchen has no problem customizing the contents. The carne asada burrito on the menu is meat and beans, but we always order it with rice, cheese, onions and cilantro, no sauce, executed perfectly every time. If you are in the neighborhood and have a yen for basic, yummy grub, stop here!

The place to go for chiles rellenos. I crave these all the time. Doña Cirila makes a certain amount each day and be warned they have lard-probably what makes them so delicious! Gets only 3 stars because they do run out of chiles early on(call ahead to confirm– I have learned the hard way), the seating area is tiny, there is no AC, and the rest of the food is mediocre at best. Also, their style of chips is very brown, borderline-burnt, making it an acquired(or not) taste.

Great authentic Mexican food! The price you can’t beat either! My family and I have been coming here for years… I know they’ve been here for over 20 years. They’ve got to be doing something right. I can never get tired of this place and am in the mood for it all the time. And the chips and salsa are bomb! The salsa is spicy but very fresh. I’m actually on my way there now as I write this review you gotta try it!

4 stars for the price… but only 3 for the taste. It’s not bad, but I’ve had better Mexican food.

Possibly the best chips and salsa I’ve ever had. Chili pork burrito was out of this world. Going for lunch again, now.

Yum! I’ve been looking for a cheap, good Mexican takeout place close to home. Unfortunately nothing is as cheap as it used to be… Damn you economy! I miss the days when $ 5 – 6 would provide me with a meal… Ah well… La Poblanita has menudo that I noticed one of the other customers had ordered. It looked like a pretty big serving and from what I could tell, came with all of the requisite accompaniments. They also have albondigas(which I prefer over menudo) that I plan to try on a future visit. Since this was my first time here, I decided to play it safe and order the chicken & beans wet burrito, which I ordered to go. Big enough portion to fill me up but not leave me «stuffed.» The beans were nice & creamy, chicken(white meat!) was cooked to perfection and not too dry and there was a nice balance of ingredients. The sauce was an enchilada-type sauce that had a nice kick that was just right spice-wise. The burrito wasn’t drowning in sauce, but also wasn’t too dry. There was just enough to scoop up with my(free!) tortilla chips and the perfect amount of chips were provided too. What’s with those places that either don’t give you chips at all, or charge for a side of chips, or only give you something like five chips to accompany your meal? To me, Mexican without tortilla chips is like Chinese without rice(and yes, believe it or not, I once ordered Chinese takeout only to find out it didn’t include rice! Seriously folks? What are you thinking???) Anyway back to the review at hand: Service was very friendly and very quick. The guy behind the counter was very attentive, greeting me as soon as I walked in and checking in with me to see if I was ready to place an order yet.(Since it was my first time here I needed a few minutes to take a look at the menu. He gave me enough«space» to look, but also didn’t seem to forget about me so that I felt ignored — a delicate balance that he was able to carry off perfectly!) The food was prepared quickly — I ordered then barely had a chance to take a seat when they told me my order was ready. I wanted to leave a tip, but couldn’t find the tip jar… When I mentioned it, the guy behind the counter said his mom always puts it(hides it) behind the counter. :-) I thought it was kinda cute that«Mom» puts the jar away & I like that it wasn’t in your face like a lot of places(other places that seem to DEMAND a tip, which, while I do leave one — and I think I tip reasonably well — I also find irksome when it’s demanded/expected.) All in all, yummy food, nice portions, reasonably priced(less than $ 10, including tax & tip), quick and friendly service, enough menu choices to make me feel like I have some variety. Close to home. I think I have found the place I’ve been searching for! Can’t wait to try the albondigas and their tacos look tasty too.

Every time I’m in the Southbay it’s must to stop & eat here. Chips & salsa get delivered to you while you wait for your meal. This is real Authentic Mexican food. My favorite is definitely the shredded beef TAQUITOS. Covered in Guacamole, with a good portion of Rice & beans just like grandmA use to cook. — — –CASHONLY — —

My first visit here. Got the taco feliz. It is a super sized crunchy taco loaded with plenty of shredded beef(my choice, you can also pick chicken) topped with some guacomole and lots of lettuce cheese and tomato. It is a perfectly balanced meal if you ask me. The whole thing tasted great. The shredded beef was tender not stringy or chewy. The flavor was light which suited me. A thing layer of guac which didn’t offer much to the taste. But the mountain of lettuce shredded cheese and tomato brought freshness to the taco, and made up for the the guac. My only advice is to eat it fast before it becomes fork food. I was happy with the taco. Will be back to try some of the restaurants namesakes.

Absolutely 5stars! Not just cause my uncles own and run the place!(Hi auntie!) but because they haven’t sacrificed the authenticity or changed the flavor of the character that made them. a South Bay gem… I have great memories of spending days here during the summers of my early youth with my cousin goofing off while washing dishes, bussing tables, mopping the floors but having fun with my fam… good times good times Can’t go wrong with asada deluxe burrito with cilantro, chives, sour cream, guacamole, and extra salsa With a side of tacitos and guacamole A side of albondigas And for breakfast get some menudo… and 2 large horchatas! Maybe that’s just me.

I have a thing for Chile Rellenos and to be honest I didn’t think it was going to be good since it was with green sauce but surprisingly it was good. I love trying Chile Rellenos wherever I go and I’m glad I tried it here. This was my first visit. I also tried one green enchilada with Chicken and it wasn’t as great as I was hoping but I guess cause I expected them to tastes like my moms lol but it was still good food. I want to come back and try the burritos, flautas and taquitos

Ranchera enchiladas with green sauce are amazing !!! Next time I will add chicken because the chicken is sooo good!!! Poblano chicken enchiladas lack sweet flavor .o wouldn’t get it again but the chicken was good. Beans and rice were cool. Salsa was average. Customer Service was great. Cash only. Hole in the wall.

Surprisingly good! I live fairly close to this restaurant, which is located on a small strip mall on the corner of Hawthorne Blvd & Rosecrans Ave. The strip mall has 5 or 6 older, small businesses and a large Pep Boys next door. The outside of the building is a bit run-down. I’ve passed by Poblanita Express a million times and never thought to try it, mainly due to the outside appearance. I was shopping at the game store next door when I decided to grab a quick bite. I figured I’d give the place a try. The inside isn’t much more impressive than the outside. But the food is actually pretty good. I had the«Taco Feliz» which was a GINORMOUS taco! I had them load it with shredded beef. The entire thing was large, messy, and delicious. The service here is good. The place usually isn’t crowded. And as stated before, the food is better than expected. Might not be a place worth going out of your way for, but definitely worth checking out if you happen to be in the area.
