Star Big Bazaar

First visit today and will NOT be the last. I dropped some serious cash but they were all great values and worth every penny.
Fresh and frozen sweets (to die for!), huge bags of rice, beans and more spices than you can imagine. They also have tons of imported spice mixes for daal and such as well as fresh paneer and naan.
The employees were very nice, which only made the experience better. I’m sure this will be a monthly (at least!) stop for me.

It has everything you could possibly need thats indian!
What strikes me so strange about quakerbridge road is that there are 3 indian grocery stores within a 3 mile radius! I know there are tons of indian people in my area but daammnn. i didnt think 3 stores within 3 miles worth of desis reside here. but i digress.
So, star bazaar has jumped on the bandwagon to compete with sabzi mandi and apna baazaar– all good stores. Id rate star bazaar #1 in terms of cleanliness but last in terms of affordability. I find sabzi mandi to be a bit cheaper than the other two.
But star bazaar has everything you could possibly need– a few freezers stacked with instant food, parathas, idli rosa mixes, ice cream, yogurt, milk– you name it. They have many varieties of basmati rice, even the low glycemic index kind for diabetics. A decently stocked beauty section with face creams, oil body soaps, toothpaste, etc. They have a great variety of fresh veggies and also sell fresh sweets, samosas, kachoris, daal vadas, etc up front near the cashier. I believe they also sell cigarettes behind the counter.
Customer service is just like any indian grocery store lol– theyre pretty apathetic and never smile at strangers.
It so close to my house, so ill definitely return. If you feel like driving a bit for a bigger store, theres a huge sabzi mandi in dayton. But between star bazaar, apna bazaar and sabzi mandi — youre bound to find anything indian you need along this 3 mile-​ish strip.

Excellent prices on produce. Very good customer service-​help is available when you are looking for something. Has everything you need if you are vegetarian — store doesn’t carry meat products at all.
