Don’t waste your time with any other nail salon in Lawrence. Chieu’s is hands-down the best there is in town. I love how clean the salon is and how friendly all the technicians are. They have a huge gel color selection and I’ve honestly never had a bad manicure there. You won’t be disappointed!

I used to go there all the time to see Stephanie etc etc… Went in to get a nail fixed and it looks very uneven… I’m glad I found Stephanie at Duci nails and will never return to chieu’s, the new staff there is untrained. Chieus lost a long time client today:(

Anyone who knows me knows I’m meticulous about my nails. After much searching, I found someone else who is as meticulous! Cheri really takes her time and paints my nails so that they last. My gels last over two weeks and I only get them redone because the nails are so grown out. The paint is still chip-less.

I received a solid and relatively quick manicure from Mindy! The place is very clean and well kept. Mindy was attentive, nice and did a beautiful job! I didn’t the prices were unfair. I paid 40 $(originally 42 $ minus student discount) for a french shellac manicure. Overall, I will definitely be coming back!

I truly hate people touching my feet, but I also want my nails to look nice – what I’m primarily looking for in a pedicure is LONGEVITY. The Chieu’s technicians are not speedy(meaning people were touching my feet for longer than what I would consider optimal) but the pedicure held up beautifully for a month. So I’ll be back! My sister and I both opted for basic pedicures and the polish lasted for four weeks with minimal to no chipping(standard OPI polish, nothing fancy). We ended up having to take the polish off because of nail growth, not because of polish wear! But even leaving the polish aside, my nails looked pretty good and well cared for. The technicians are methodical and take their time – this is not the place for a quick lunchtime trip. But even so, I’m not sure I would describe them as «slow» workers; I think«thorough» is a better word for it, and, considering how long my pedicure lasted, I’m actually happy to have them take as long as they need. The salon takes credit/debit cards but prefers its employees to be tipped in cash, so have a little on hand. I want to say the basic pedicure was $ 28 – which seems to be a little high when compared to competitors but again, rarely have I had pedicures hold up so well. So for me, Cheiu’s is absolutely worth both the time commitment and the price.

I visited for the first time today after reading some of the great reviews and was so surprised to know this place had been right under my nose all of this time and I have never been in! I found the atmosphere to be really pretty and clean and the staff to be skilled and friendly. I also thought their prices were reasonable. I will certainly be back!

I’m kind of new in town so I decided to go by Unilocal reviews to find a place that was close to my house and that was halfway decent. I called on Saturday afternoon and was able to get an appointment on Sunday afternoon at exactly the time that I requested. The place doesn’t look like much from the outside. It looks small and is in a run down strip mall. But it looks much nicer and larger when you get inside and it’s very clean. The people were friendly and the pedicure was great! I give only four stars because of mainly the prices. And also they don’t have a nail drying station, for the feet at least(allI got was a pedicure). The pedicure prices start at $ 36. At that price, should’ve been offered a beverage! And as some of the reviewer’s have said, this is much higher than even in the San Francisco bay area. I have seen these high prices in other places in Kansas as well, and my theory is that Kansans usually don’t tip as well, and so the nail salons raise their prices to make up for the lack of tip money. Just a theory. No offense if your native Kansan :-)

The people were friendly and nice. The place is clean and well maintained. My full set came out looking great… but the most expensive full set I have ever had and I live in Orange County CA. The pedicure was the worst I have ever had… plus one of the most expensive for a basic pedicure. The overall cost of this place was ridiculous compared to what I pay in Orange County CA where the rents must be at least 3 times as high.

I was so nervous to try out a new nail salon. However, this salon was great! I felt comfortable and was treated quite nicely! I had a jayhawk pedi done, they soaked off my old nails and I had a mani with shellac polish. I though that the services were a little pricy, but you pay for what you get. I plan on going back because of the great service and not to mention it is clean. The women and men that work there really love what they are doing!

Great service and reasonably priced. The staff was friendly, thorough and attentive. I enjoyed having my nails done and in some places it is a chore. The salon was clean and nicely decorated. I will be a return customer for sure.

My boyfriend surprised me with a gift certificate for a mani/pedi at Chieu’s on the recommendation of a colleague, and I can tell you it did not disappoint. The place is clean and relaxing. I didn’t even move from my massaging pedi chair to have my gel mani done. They had plenty of colors, and the nail tech didn’t get annoyed when I asked if I could change my mind about the color I picked. I felt like he was very conversational and good at doing nails. As a budget-minded person, I noted that their prices were slightly higher than what I would expect,(though I did just move to town,) but they were worth it for the length of time the work has lasted.(I expect two weeks on a gel mani and a month on a pedi.) I only marked them as a four for their prices, which were steep for bare-bones service(no paraffin, etc.)

This place is wonderful! I love getting my nails done. The shellac actually lasted for about a month! The service is always friendly and efficient!
