Greens At Alvamar

I lived at the greens for two years and overall it was a great experience. Never had any major problems. Maintenance comes quickly when something needs to be fixed. They allow pets with no weight restrictions and it doesn’t cost extra each month, just a one time deposit. The pool was never full of people when I went. The gym could use more equipment but it’s not a big deal. We had a membership with a gym, anyways. Upon move out, we got a majority of deposit back which was nice because reading previous reviews we were nervous that we wouldn’t get anything. The apartment was a nice layout. The only thing I would change is that there aren’t any light fixtures in the bedrooms which I didn’t notice before move in. Everyone in the office was nice although there was a change of management as we were moving out. If I ever lived in Lawrence again, I would definitely live there again!

We lived at the Greens for two years without incident. However, I would NOT recommend living there now, unless you want risk getting ripped off by the current landlord when you move out. We moved out this year and got charged upwards of $ 500 for some completely ridiculous charges, including painting the ceiling (removed only after we questioned it), wiping down counters (are you kidding me?) and replacing the entire carpet. After multiple attempts to settle this bill the management will not compromise, sticking us with a ton of charges and forcing us to forfeit our deposit (as well as compromising our credit). The kicker is that we spent hours cleaning before moving out, but since we didn’t take photos we can’t prove anything. We’ve also always had our deposit completely refunded, and are very responsible tenants, making this even more mind blowing. We don’t smoke or party and our apartment was always in good working shape. I do not recommend at all due to management!
