Jim’s Kabob Express

Lately I’ve been ordering jims kabob and I’m pretty much addicted. I always order the tenderloin with rice and fries. Tonight they cooked the tenderloin absolutely perfect and the fries were the best I’ve had in a long time. They tasted fresh and my fiancé agreed they were really good. An all around great meal. Good job!

Best Falafel sandwich in the area!
My first time to the place and they were friendly, helpful and great local business.
I also ordered the raw kibbee which I’ve never had before and they told me best way to eat it and it was fantastic. The stuffed pepper was also delicious.
Will definitely be back to try the other items on the menu.

2^nd time I have come in here looking for great food and Jim’s did not disappoint me or my family.
Both dishes were cooked perfect and were loaded with lots of love and flavor!
This visit we had Maria Jim’s wife behind the counter and she was not messing around you can see from her skills she takes huge amounts of pride cooking and having people leave full and happy.
We has this fresh garlic paste thing that was so good I want some more of it right now.
The parking is on the street and the location is nest alway between a bar and a house. It’s a small eater that has been there for 11 years. If your not from Lawrence it may be hard to think you can get great/​out of this world Mediterranean food here in a city that has hundreds of Spanish eaters but you can. The food is worth the drive from any area. The price are fair and well worth it.
I loved the food and loved the service. The website is easy to work and is very nicely laid out.
I do think think the inside décor can use a robust updating that said the food made up for that big time. The kitchen area is clean.
I will be back for the food as it delivered fresh daily and is cooked with love by people who love what they do. That’s paramount for a wife and husband team.

Falafel falafel faaaaaalafel don’t let this place fool you by the looks or how old it is but I was in there yesterday afternoon and I always eat meat daily, but this time I was going to other side and went with the falafel on Syrian bread. The first bite and heard that crunch I knew I was going to enjoy this 3 mins later after I swallowed the sandwich I was very satisfied. I even called a few friends to let them know I ate this pc greatness. Will be back for sure.

Late Friday night just roaming the streets of Lawrence looking for a place to eat and I pass this place look at the reviews on Unilocal and people be giving it 5 stars not sure if they were bribed to give good ratings but this place was awful. So awful to the point I was ready to go to McDonald’s. I order a chicken shawarma and when I get it the chicken isn’t even cooked right. I took a few bites then it made me want to throw up. On the other hand I was with a friend who got a bowl of lettuce and these people can’t even make that right. At the end of the day I gave this place one star in the first place is because they are opened till 2:30.

Great customer service, very knowledge about the food used. The cook turned up the heater (without asking) so he cares about the customer. Also explained the differences between different foods well.

I was doing some work in one of the office building from across the way, I didn’t want to eat the usual burgers or sandwiches for lunch so I decided to give this place a go.
First the service wasn’t great, he came in talking on his phone, asked me what I wanted and in the middle of me giving the order told me to hold on so he could continue talking on his phone. Then as he was cooking my food I could hear him having a coughing fit, right in the kitchen where everything was. I should have just walked out then, but with alot of good reviews on Unilocal I decided to stick around, what a mistake. When I got my food he didn’t give me my drink, which he remember and asked me what I wanted, I said coke and he starts going «can or bottle can or bottle can or bottle» like he just wanted me to get out of there, even tho it wasn’t busy at all.
I got a rolled lamb kabob. The food was okay, it was a large portion but it was all fillers. I got maybe 6 – 8 pieces of lamb chunks and basically all lettuce, tomatoes and onions.
With alot of good reviews, I like to think I just caught them on an off day. But I wouldn’t eat here again.

Our group had a most wonderful meal here. The food was fresh, beyond delicious, and quickly prepared. The owner even came to our table and asked us how everything was. I would totally return. Fantastic value for spectacular food and service.

We love Jims Kabob. The Steak Cheese Salad wrapped in Korbanis pita bread is phenomenal. My wife has become mostly vegetarian but she always makes an exception for a Steak Cheese Salad. We dont usually do reviews. But we had to take the time to support Jims. Nothing is perfect in this world. But Jims comes as close as humanly possibly.
We think its perfect and have never had an issue there. The food is awesome and the service is just as awesome.
One tip. Try to get there before the rush hours.

I eat here very often, due to the fact that my friend works here and I used to stop by and get something at least once a month. I’ve had just about everything on the menu and I know how they make their stuff, and just about everything is FRESH. American food is actually pretty good too (I recommend the haddock when they have it, chicken parm and steak bomb), but MiddleEastern food is where it’s at. Kibbee, delicious. Chicken or steak shwarma, yum. The stuffed grape leaves are so good too, especially when they’re fresh it’s to die for! My personal favorites include that, the falafel, fresh cut fries, and eggplant tahini.

Gawwwwwd. I looooved the falafel and the staff is the sweetest. Did I say the falafel is the best? My 11yo and I were swooning!

If you want to try something special, something delicious, something more than enough and of course Home made, that is the right place .
I am sure you’ll come again and again .

I am surprised with all the super reviews of this place. We went here one evening with family. The hummus was great but the main food/​wraps was so bad that we could not even finish them. Threw most of it.

As others have said, the food is amazing. I am staying close-​by for a business trip and decided to give this place a shot. I got a chicken schwarma, which was delicious and full of flavor. Prices are very reasonable. The second night I decided to come back and got a falafel wrap this time. I also recommend you try their hummus and babagonoush. Both are amazing! I wish I was staying here a third night, just so I could go back and have it again!

Ignore the the outside appearance, the chicken and steak shawarma were delicious. So good I came back for dinner, great hidden gem.

Order the chicken kabob dinner and filet mignon dinner… it was the best chicken and filet mignon dinner ever… this place is great and its a must try

This place is AMAZING! Hands down the best Mediterranean food I’ve had since I’ve been out here. I had the Steak Shawarma Plate, which is a huge serving of food!

Basically one of the only perks of living in Lawrence is Jim Kabob. Best falafel I’ve ever had. EVER! Well priced, hilarious staff, quick!
