This was the only meat pie I ate growing up. My father would bring home the meat pie & spinach pie every week. Now in 2016 it has changed a lot, the meat in the pie is not the same quality & texture it once was remember I was brought up eating this because it was on our menu at home for supper. The same goes for the spinach pie it pains me to write this review but it is what it is it’s not the same has it once was. I guess as it goes through generation to generation it changes hands then you bye cheaper quality of meat to try and produce the same kind of meat pie it once was. It’s not bad, but it’s not the same as it once was. I’m gonna make my own and try to make it the way it once was.

The best meat pie in the world. It can’t be beat. There is a reason that it has been in business for 56 years. Prices are so reasonable and it is a family favorite

I never went here, really. My family went most of the time to Tripoli’s for pizza when we lived in Lawrence. But my Dad knows the family who own this place and I wondered why we never went there. I tried it for the first time in the late 1990s and it was good. It was not as good as Tripoli’s though. I remember getting a sausage sub and a pizza. The pizza was not as good as Tripoli’s and was nothing very special. But the sausage sub I remember was good!

I’m a Tripoli’s girl so their pizza really doesn’t do anything for me. Their meat pie on the other hand is a whole different story. My parents used to get Napoli’s all the time before bringing us to the beach so any sub from here with lettuce, onion, pickle and hots, toasted is pretty much the taste of my childhood. As I got older I came to appreciate the meat pie. It’s loaded with hamburger and the right combination of spices. But it’s not the filling that makes this a work of art, it is the crust. I do not know who they do it. The inside is soft, chewy, and moist(must be from the meat cooking inside), but the outside is hard and crispy. I cannot bring myself to eat any other meat pie. A little tip: call ahead for the meat pies, as they take a while to cook.

I used to come to Napoli’s a ton in my teenage years. There are just enough counter spaces where maybe four or five people can throw an elbow on the counter and enjoy a slice of «ske-chadda» meat pie, spinach pie, pizza, or a sangweech. I stopped in the other day for a few slices of Anchovy pizza before picking my wife up from work, and it was just like the old days. The pizza has a nice sauce, it is sweet, but no wehre near the same sweetness of Tripoli’s but their crust is thicker, and you really get the best of both worlds when you get an inside piece, and one with crust or even a corner with the crust edge on two sides. MINGYA, soooo good. They are not scared to put the anchovy on their and they break it up so you get a piece of anchovy with every bite. The meat pie is the round style you get a slice or buy a whole pit and take home if you want for the family. Their sandwiches are very good too, try the combination toasted with mayo lettuce onions hots — nice sangweech!!!

If you are looking for something fancy, this is not it… BUT if you are looking for an authentic Italian, low key pizza/sub eatery, this is your place! I do have to say, I am very partial to the Italian sub(it’s absolutely delicious) but my husband who tries something new every time we go has yet to be disappointed! Make sure you bring change for the vending machine if you want to have a soda. They do sell bottled water and I think some kind of juice. I would definitively recommend this little joint!

I grew up on eating this pizza, and meat pies. I will NEVER get a meat pie anywhere else except here. The pizza is very good. Crust, sauce, and the little cheese they put on top is just the nitch that they carry in their pizza assembly. Since im a crust freak, I HAVE to have the pizza slice with the crust!

Best cold subs in Lawrence. Located in the Italian part of Lawrence it is a friendly and warm feel to the small shop. The cold subs are made with all fresh ingredients rare now a days. The pizza has a rich taste which beats competitor Tripoli pizza right across the street. Without this small shop, the Italian area of Lawrence would not feel the same

Great pizza. The crust is deceptively delicious. It is thick so you think it will be chewy, but biting into it, it is light, airy, and crispy. Not too much cheese and very, very reasonable prices.
