I have seen a couple of doctor’s and midwives at WHG-the practitioners were nice enough, but the care was mediocre. What should have been treated with a LEEP months ago has now progressed to full blown cervical cancer in a very aggressive fashion. Because of the lack of treatment I moved my care to KU Med where my new doctor was shocked that I had not been treated with a LEEP almost a year ago. I have been trying to get my medical records sent to KU Med to continue care and WHG has given me the run around and refused to release my records for over two months now. They have been back and forth with me and the doctor’s at KU. I was told by KU Med that it felt like WHG was holding my records«hostage». Considering I feel they have not treated me properly I can’t help but think they don’t want another doctor to see how badly they screwed up. Finally, after threatening to file a complaint with the Kansas Board of Healing Arts, Amy in medical records decided to send my records today. Though she felt the need to argue with me about the legality of the issue. FYI Amy, as I said, you can legally bill me for sending my records, but you cannot refuse to send the records in lieu of payment. Perhaps you should read through KS Statutes Chapter 65 Article 28 Sub-point 20. Here’s a link for your convenience: Here’s some more information via the Kansas Medical Society: If you need more clarification I will be happy to contact Ruth Cornwall as suggested. I am on Medicaid because I am disabled and cannot work at this time. Why this office thinks it would be acceptable to hold my records hostage until over $ 40 is paid to transfer them is beyond me. This is a continuation of treatment issue. I am now months behind in my treatment at KU because of WHG and their failure to act. This is professional misconduct if ever I have seen it. Perhaps I would not have had to change offices if I felt I Was getting the proper treatment at WHG, but clearly I was not.

Dr. Hal Younglove may be my favorite OBGYN. He is funny and has a calming presence to him. He instantly makes you feel at ease during a less-than-comfortable experience. I highly recommend him.

Finding a good OBGYN is an awkward process, for reasons which I’m sure are fairly obvious. This was the second group I visited after I moved to Lawrence and decided to find someone local, rather than having to drive all the way back to OP for my yearly exams. Dr. Hal Younglove happened to be the only doctor available for the date and time I could fit an appointment into my schedule, and I’m so glad I ended up seeing him! He was very laid-back and friendly, and he did an extremely thorough but gentle exam, telling me everything he was about to do before he did it. He also took a lot of time to talk to me about birth control and what my options were before helping me decide on one that fit my needs. A lot of the doctors I visited while I was vegan were slightly judgmental about the diet, but not Hal. He gave me advice on how to supplement my diet to keep my reproductive organs healthy and functioning, and even found an oral birth control with added iron to help with that. When I had questions a few months later about some changes in my body, he called me back within a very short amount of time and again was very patient with me and gave me knowledgeable answers without even the merest hint of condescension. He is now definitely the only person I trust with my ladybits, and I’ve told him he’s not allowed to retire, ever. Even if I moved to Guam, I’d probably come back here once a year for my exams.
