The amount of stars you give Bethesda is ultimately based on what you want out of the park. Bethesda is a nice little park that caters to an active senior lifestyle, including walking and swimming, but seniors aren’t the only one who get to enjoy the activities. There are two main trails, one being a 1.5 mile loop that’s paved, wide and well maintained, with a nice variety of hilly trails, although it’s mostly flat, and that works great for seniors and kids. This trail also slips behind the aquatic center and small kid’s play area. The second paved trail is a very small paved trail that wraps around the nice pond near the senior center. In addition to the pond, there’s a lovely garden alongside this trail with different flowers in bloom and it’s in general a gorgeous area. Both of these trails are cycle friendly and neither of the trails are so difficult where your butt has to leave the seat or you have to switch gears. There’s a fair amount of parking with multiple lots, several restrooms, a synthetic football field that doubles as a soccer field, a track around the field, and then a natural grass field near the entrance to the park. The aquatic center has two pools. The larger pool is not deeper than 5 feet in any area, and you can also sign up for group classes for swimming lessons if you can’t swim. If you’re shy, or just can’t make afternoon classes like me, they also have one on one private classes, though they’re a little more pricey. The second pool is an aquatic child play area, with a slide set built right into the pool. I was there during a random Friday morning and neither pool was being used very much, but I can imagine this being a busy place in the afternoons on a warm day. I like bethesda as a nice little community park, although it doesn’t offer the sheer size or variety that other parks in the Gwinnett area seem to, But if you’re up for a nice swim or a nature walk that isn’t too long, this is definitely your park!

Very nice if you have small under 10 years of age children. Very well policed lifeguards will blow whistle for excessive splashing, loud or horse play. Water is never deeper than 3ft. Safe environment very attentive clean.

This is a very nice little park in Lilburn, GA with a nice walking/biking trail. The trail takes you through a bunch of trees with lots of hills and slopes that makes the experience all the more interesting. I enjoy coming here on a quiet summer/fall evening to take a quick stroll if I need to get in a few minutes of exercise. Also, they have an indoor aquatic center for families to go swimming and wonderful camps for children. Def recommend it!

The lap pool is way TOOOO cold as compared to other pools at Collin Hills or West Gwinnett. The other thing is that the chlorine is too much that it burns your eyes. It is a clean and bright pool but I do not like it being so cold. There is another section where it is catered mostly for kids. There are many lifeguards there also. Many therapists go there to provide physical therapy classes and they too complained how cold the water is. Please do something with the water temperature as I am not the only one freezing in the pool! Unilocal 13⁄365

I have been on a hunt for awesome parks to run in the morning. I grew up around Bethesda Park and have always appreciated how much you can do here! This park is huge and even has an aquatic center. It is the park of all parks here OTP. I tan easily, quickly, unnecessarily… so I am a fan of the hiking trail. It is mostly through a wooded area and there is plenty of shade! It is one of the hardest trails I run, it is not a flat trail that’s for sure. I actually don’t think I’ve ever really driven around or experienced the other side of the park. Maybe after one of my runs I can explore around, this place is so massive though!

I was surprised that all the water activities were indoors. Not really my cup of tea but my seven year old had a blast. Mostly younger kids which to me is a plus. We will go back if my daughter ask otherwise I’m seeking out the sun.

Bethesda Park is a great park. As much as I rail against the bloating of local and state governments — I’m impressed with Gwinnett County for building and maintaining this park. First off — it’s HUGE. There are just TONS of things to do … — innumerable baseball fields — soccer fields — 1.5 mile hiking trail through woods(good number of ups and downs) — aquatic center — picnic pavilions — two huge playgrounds with stuff for little and big kids And it’s always clean and nicely landscaped. I just love this park. It’s a great asset to our suburbia and I regularly drive past several other local parks to take my son to this one.

A very clean and fun indoor pool and aquatic playground. Obviously, it’s more crowded on the weekend, but it’s a fun place to go, especially when it’s raining or thundering outside(when the other pools close down). There’s a small lap pool, which is probably about 4 lanes. You can ask the lifeguard to make a lane if it isn’t already there. The playground stuff is really fun. The lazy river has a strong current that will carry you along. There’s a water slide that goes out of the building then back in. Great facility. We wish we lived closer and in Gwinnett County so that we could get the annual pass at a reasonable rate.
